The newest Sandals resort as of 2026 is Sandals Saint Vincent, which opened March 2024 on the south coast of Saint Vincent Island. It is the chain’s first new property since Sandals Royal Curacao opened in 2022, and it brings the chain to 17 active resorts. Here is what is special about it, and what is coming next on the Sandals pipeline.
Sandals Saint Vincent: opened March 2024
Sandals Saint Vincent is the chain’s first ever resort on the island of Saint Vincent. It sits on Buccament Bay on the southern coast, set in a private cove between green volcanic hills and a black-sand beach. The resort has 301 rooms (medium-sized for Sandals), 11 restaurants, and the chain’s first Overwater Serenity Wedding Chapel.
Standout features: Overwater Bungalows with private plunge pools and glass floors, the Overwater Wedding Chapel (the only one in the chain), South Coast Sky Pool Butler Suites, and a black-sand beach setting that is unique among Sandals resorts (every other Sandals beach is white or off-white).
The other recent Sandals openings
- Sandals Royal Curacao – opened 2022. First Sandals on Curacao. Includes the chain’s only on-property rental car program.
- Sandals Dunn’s River – reopened 2023 (replacing the former Jewel Dunn’s River). First Sandals with a lazy river pool complex. Full review here.
- Sandals Saint Vincent – opened March 2024. Newest in chain. Black-sand beach, Overwater Wedding Chapel.
What is next on the Sandals pipeline
As of 2026 the announced Sandals pipeline includes one major project: a new Sandals on Saint Lucia called Sandals La Source Saint Lucia, scheduled to open 2027. It will sit on the south end of Saint Lucia near the Pitons (a different coast from the existing 3 Sandals properties on the north end). No overwater bungalows announced yet for that property; details are still emerging.
On the Beaches side, Beaches Exuma is scheduled to open late 2026 in Great Exuma, Bahamas (replacing the former Sandals Emerald Bay which is being converted from adults-only to family). For more on the Beaches pipeline see my best Beaches resort guide.
Should you book the newest Sandals?
Yes if you want the freshest property and you do not mind opening-year hiccups. New Sandals properties usually take 6-12 months to fully shake out service standards, restaurant rotations, and excursion partnerships. By month 18 they are typically running smoothly. Sandals Saint Vincent has been open about two years now (as of 2026), so it has cleared the opening-year shake-out.
The trade-off: newest Sandals properties almost never participate at the deepest tiers of the Sandals 7-7-7 deals. Demand exceeds supply, so the chain rarely needs to discount. If your priority is the lowest possible price, an older property like Sandals Negril will be cheaper.
