Best Sandals Resorts for Families: Why Beaches Is the Answer
People search "best Sandals resorts for families" thousands of times a month, and the answer is always the same: Sandals does not allow kids. Every Sandals resort is adults-only. The family version of Sandals is Beaches Resorts, run by the same parent company. If you came here looking for the best Sandals for a family vacation, you actually want the best Beaches.
Sandals does not allow kids

Beaches: the family version of Sandals
Beaches Resorts is the sister brand to Sandals. Same parent company (Sandals Resorts International), same training programs, same chefs and wines, same butler tier. The only difference is that Beaches welcomes families with kids of any age and adds family-specific infrastructure: water parks, kids' clubs by age band, Sesame Street character programming, larger family-suite layouts, and free PADI certification for kids 8+.
Open Beaches resorts for families
- Beaches Turks & Caicos - largest family resort in the Caribbean. Pirates Island Waterpark (the biggest in the region), 23 restaurants, full Sesame Street programming, on Grace Bay Beach. The default pick for most families.
- Beaches Negril - the value pick. Smaller, on Seven Mile Beach in Jamaica, full Pirates Island Waterpark and Sesame Street programming, typically 30-40% cheaper than Turks & Caicos.
- Beaches Ocho Rios is closed. It is not a pick.
- Beaches Exuma is not open.
What Beaches includes (vs Sandals)
- Same all-inclusive base: dining at every restaurant, premium liquors (kids get unlimited Coca-Cola and juice), watersports, transfers
- Pirates Island Waterpark (each Beaches has one)
- Sesame Street character meet-and-greets, parade, breakfast, and tuck-in service
- Kids' clubs by age band: 0-2 (Crayon Club), 3-5 (Lollipop), 6-9 (Pixar), 10-12 (Power), 13-17 (Liquid)

- Family suite layouts including 2BR and 3BR villas (sleeps up to 8 at Beaches T&C)
If you want the closest thing to "Sandals for families"
Book Beaches Turks & Caicos. It is the most direct equivalent: same all-inclusive standard, same room finishes, same butler tier (yes, Beaches has butler suites too), and Grace Bay Beach is the best beach in the Caribbean. If you must do Sandals (with adult kids)
The one exception is families with adult kids 18+. They can all stay at any Sandals (or 16+ at Sandals Antigua). Multi-room bookings let parents and adult kids occupy separate rooms on the same property. Common for milestone-birthday family trips and adult-children honeymoons-with-parents-along style stays.
