We recently returned from a week at the Beaches Club Negril. Our original plan was to head to the flagship location in Turks, but were talked into Negril considering the ages of our children and Negril not being as massive of a property. The ride in from the Montego Bay airport is long (1.5 hrs) so make sure you have snacks and water, especially with young kids. From the time we arrived at the resort until the time we departed the staff here truly made us feel like family. Many were great, but some that truly stood out were Nae Nae (no surprise), Levon and Shamar at the pool and Jose from the entertainment team. Nae Nae has an innate ability to become everyone's newest family member while vacationing at Beaches Club and she should truly be running Hospitality or Entertainment for any of the big resort groups. Shamar became our kids watersliding best friend at the pool in the afternoons and in every evening show Jose went above and beyond to get our children to participate and have so much fun. Some other details broken into groups: Food: Overall, the food was good. Not great, but good. This was our first time at an all inclusive for the family and by mid week I sort of figured out the model. The best couple of restaurants (Yaku and Soy) are both very small and have limited seating. If you don't make reservations early (we were in shoulder season) good luck getting a table. This was our only rub as it forces most folks to the sprawling buffet at the Mill. I would suggest making reservations before you even arrive if that is possible which seems rather frustrating to do. YoYo's frozen yogurt was a hit w/the kids and they dropped in at least once daily to make sundaes. I cannot remember the woman's name that was there almost daily, but she was also incredibly friendly. The cafe was also one of our favorite spots. We grabbed coffee drinks here daily and the occasional gelato. Resort/Rooms/Beach: We stayed in a more simple room, oceanview, in the Savannah building. The rooms are a bit dated, but very clean. The maid service at Beaches was top notch and every day we came back from activities to find neat towel animals on the beds. The beach as many already know is incredible and Beaches seems to have one of the best pieces of real estate on 7 mile beach. Sand is soft and they have a few floating rafts with cup holders to relax while out in the water. The only rub about the beach is we didn't expect to see so many vendors pushing their wares at Beaches Club. They must have an agreement w/the resort in which they can't walk up into the cabana and chair areas between the beach and the pool, but anytime you walk across the beach to get to the ocean they come for you. All nice people, but it's annoying after a few days when you're just trying to relax. Excursions: Beaches really offers a lot w/their all inclusive packages. There are many options for water enthusiasts and our family must've snorkeled at least three times while there. Book snorkeling and glass bottom boat rides early to ensure you get a spot as they fill up. Snorkeling is a really quick trip, but considering that it is included how can one complain. Overall, we highly recommend the Beaches Negril option for vacationing families. The water park is perfect for young kids, the service is great, the entertainment team is great, the food is good and it feels very safe overall.

We stayed at Beaches Negril 6/8-6/14, and the trip was great. The beach was beautiful, and the activities were fun to attend. All of the food was great, but make sure to get reservations at the restaurants as soon as possible, as they fill up fast (Stella, Yaku, and Kimonos). We stayed in a concierge suite, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Tshai helped my mom from the Mill restaurant to the stairs of our suite when it was raining, and my mom didn't have an umbrella with her. Kemoi was our server during my husband and I's candlelight dinner, and he was amazing—good customer service, positive energy, etc. Creton, aka Bubba, was our Snorkeling captain both times we went with two different shipmates, but both experiences were great, especially the second one when Creton was snorkeling with us and grabbed items for us to see and touch. I would say Snorkeling is a Must. King Julian was a glass-bottom boat captain, and he was also amazing. Explained different things about the area resorts. The island off to the side showed us a starfish, fed the fish some bread so we could see them more closely. Also, a must if you don't have issues with motion sickness. His shipmate on Friday the 13th at 9 AM dove in to get the start fish for us to look at :D. Hilroy was the one to make our Snorkeling adventures happen, and we greatly appreciated it. Thursday, 6/13, was our very first time, and it was so amazing. We were fortunate enough to also be able to do it on Friday at 1 PM as well, thanks to him, and that was even better, so we are hooked now. The team is so customer-centered and focused on making sure our experience was great. We will definitely be back.

I travel internationally with my family often, but this was my first and last time staying at a Beaches Resort. The staff for the most part were very kind and evening entertainment was fun. Our photographer was fantastic. However, the luxury double room did not live up to the price paid--broken balcony door handle, uncomfortable mattresses, A/C that dripped water, pseudoscorpion in the bed sheets, and we received over a dozen insect bites while sleeping that given the linear pattern suggest bedbugs. Housekeeping was sub-par; they made beds, took out the trash, refreshed towels, and stocked the fridge most days, but I saw no evidence they swept/mopped, dusted, or changed glassware. They also keep the doors open when cleaning, so any manner of insect could come in. We also had to go to the desk twice about the pseudoscorpion issue for housekeeping to come and change the sheets; they had not serviced the room that day and had not yet come 2 hours after the issue was reported to the front desk. Additionally, our driver for one excursion was a no-show, and the resort's (handwritten) log book records did not include the excursion for us despite it having been booked on the website 6 months beforehand. Be aware if you book excursions, you must check in with the Island Routes desk too; that was not relayed to us at checkin. I am still waiting on the refund to be issued for the no show tour, but the staff assured me the refund request was submitted. There are many restaurants to choose from, but the food is mediocre and both insects and birds are an issue for The Mill due to its outdoor nature. The "seafood buffet" on Friday night at The Mill was a shocking disappointment as someone who is used to East Coast (USA) style seafood buffets. I will say Cafe de Paris was great for snacks and crepes, and excursions to YS Falls and horseback riding in Sandy Bay were fun despite long car rides to get to them. Be aware that for almost any excursion, it will be at least a 45 minute drive one way to get there. The pools and water park were well-maintained and enjoyable, but it was hard to enjoy any time at the beach because locals constantly stop you to try to sell you something. In sum, I've stayed in several true 5 star resorts across the world, and Beaches Negril does not come close to living up to the likes of them. I think anywhere else, this hotel would be a 3 star, and I would not have paid $10,000+ for this trip had I known that ahead of time.

On the far western side of Jamaica, you’ll find the friendly town of Negril. Here in the midst of gorgeous beaches and calm waters sits the beautiful resort of Beaches Negril. A close second on our list of Top 5 Beaches resorts, it ties with Beaches Turks & Caicos in terms of scenic beauty. It comes only slightly second overall because it’s smaller in scope than the first resort on our list, even though it’s still impressively large and delightfully complete.

Overview

Great vibes and a casual atmosphere set this Beaches resort apart. From the moment you arrive at Beaches Negril, you’ll feel your cares melt away as you embrace island living at its luxurious best.

With world-class entertainment, spacious accommodations, and unlimited access to Negril’s Seven-Mile Beach – frequently voted as one of the best in the world – the resort offers you plenty of opportunities for romantic sunset strolls, nightly entertainment, water sports, and leisurely naps to recharge before getting back out to explore and do more.

Beaches Negril At a Glance

  • An all-inclusive resort on the west end of Jamaica known for spectacular sunsets, gorgeous beaches, and calm waters
  • Over 185 all-new rooms and suites available, including tropical beachfront suites
  • More than a dozen room categories available
  • Dining options include 9 gourmet restaurants to choose from
  • There are 7 bars to try, including two swim-up bars
  • You can enjoy 7 miles of white-sand, turquoise-water beaches, with coral reefs and lagoons
  • Two pools are available, plus three whirlpools
  • Enjoy a waterpark, golfing, a liquid night club, and an optional spa

What You’ll Find at This Beaches Resort

Play on seven miles of beaches that face west for perfect sunsets. Here you can walk from the soft sandy shore into the clear, warm Caribbean Sea and keep walking for long stretches, thanks to the shallow waters. After enjoying the beach, head back to the heart of the resort where you can relax in your comfortable accommodations, enjoy gourmet fare, and take part in everything Beaches Negril has to offer.

Entertainment options are many and varied. Enjoy daytime and nighttime options, taking part in live shows, beach parties, nightclubs, bonfires, street parades, and more. Choose your favorites for water sports; you can go kayaking, windsurfing, knee-boarding, or partake in other water activities using top-of-the-line equipment, guided by skilled instructors.

Beaches Negril offers guests plenty of land activities, too. Tennis is available day and night. There’s a fitness center for your workouts, as well as basketball courts. Enjoy lively games of beach volleyball and soccer, or cool down with a board game or billiards. There’s plenty to do, and it’s all included.

Rooms and suites are beautifully appointed. You can select whatever you prefer, with many options to choose from including oceanfront suites and luxury rooms with lush tropical garden views and private patios. All rooms are comfortable and luxurious, and you can add greater levels of service when you opt for Concierge Service or Butler Elite.

When you get hungry, you’ll find great food to satisfy your hunger. The elegant Venetian offers gourmet Italian meals. Enjoy made-to-order sushi creations at Soy Sushi Bar. Overlooking the resort’s main pool and the ocean beyond, The Mill serves both Caribbean and international fare. In addition to serving you through nine uniquely themed restaurants, Beaches Negril provides you with a self-serve frozen yogurt locale that also offers gelato, sorbet, and non-dairy options.

What We Like Best

We absolutely love the casual ambiance of this luxurious resort! Beach Negril provides you with beautiful surroundings and elegance at every turn, but the atmosphere is casual for a truly relaxing experience.

And the setting is nothing short of paradise. Miles of scenic beaches, transparent blue waters, sugary sand to walk on, swaying palm trees, and dramatic sunsets make this the perfect honeymoon or anniversary vacation spot.

These are the top reasons we like Beach Negril so much:

  • Miles of perfect beaches with clear, calm waters ideal for wading, swimming, or doing watersports
  • The swimming pools and whirlpools are attractive and inviting
  • Eat day or night at one of several five-star all-included restaurants and a yogurt shop
  • You can partake in as many or as few of the entertainment options you want – it’s all completely up to you
  • With many activities and fitness opportunities to select, you can create your own ideal blend of keeping active and taking time to rest
  • If you want a higher level of service, concierge and butler services can be selected with some room types
  • Here you can enjoy the convenience of an all-inclusive resort experience in an environment that’s equal parts laid-back and luxurious

What Might Make This the Best Beaches Resort for You

If you’re looking for an all-inclusive Beaches resort that offers all the amenities you want but is more laid-back and low-key, choose Beaches Negril. The surrounding beach scenery is so beautiful it might bring your eyes tears of awe.

While smaller than the Beaches resort at Providenciales in Turks and Caicos, Beach Negril is by no means small. There is still much to do and explore here. If you think you would prefer a more intimate setting without endless options, this might be a better choice for you.

Ultimately, determining which Beaches resort is the best is a personal matter. Before reaching a decision, browse through photos of the different resorts. Which ones draw you in the most?

The great thing about Beaches resorts is that all of them offer an all-inclusive experience, well-appointed rooms, beautiful settings, and so much to do that you’ll never be bored. Choosing your getaway destination will be influenced by your own personal preferences, regardless of what resort guides may say or recommend. If you choose Beaches Negril, you won’t be disappointed.
