We recently stayed at sandals Ochi, and I have to say I was a little disappointed. I’ve never stayed in an all-inclusive resort other than in Mexico. I have seen commercials for sandals resorts for years and always wanted to stay in one. Last week we stayed five nights at sandals Ochi and I had very high expectations. I found that the resort was beautiful, but not as well groomed as most of the resorts I’ve stayed in. We stayed in the honeymoon garden room, and I was very disappointed when I looked at the patio window, and what I saw was a wall with overgrown plants and PVC pipe running all along the wall. It was not pretty at all so we never utilized the patio while there. The room we stayed in had been recently renovated, so it wasn’t bad, just small. Housekeeping was wonderful. They came every day around the same time and checked on us in the evening to see if we needed anything. One of the things I was very disappointed in, was the cleanliness of the pools. They appeared to be cloudy and not well kept. There was a small pool by our room that was always full of leaves. One day we were sitting by that pool, waiting for housekeeping to clean our room, and there was a young man, a guest, trying to pick all the leaves out of the pool so that him and his wife could swim. There were several hot tubs throughout the resort and they all had hot water, but the jets only worked in one hot tub in the entire resort. It was the hot tub near our room and on the last day there, we decided to get in. My husband, had to use the skimmer and clean all the leaves and debris out of the hot tub in order to use it.
I will say that the food was very good. The buffets were decent, but the sit-down restaurants at night were really good. I really enjoyed the French restaurant best. One negative thing concerning food, is that you can’t just walk up and grab something quick to snack on. The pizza by the pool was a minimum of 30 minutes to an hour wait for pizza. If you want food you had to go into a restaurant and order it. I guess on the bright side I didn’t do a lot of snacking, we mainly just ate at meal time.
When it came to service, I will give it a mixed review. Some of the staff were very kind, but at least half the staff seemed un enthusiastic about their job. At times, they seemed bothered by my questions or request.
Another thing that bothered us was that our son went with us and he booked a category of room near the main pool. When he arrive, they put him in a suite up on the top of the hill. He did not order Butler service, so getting transportation to and from the hop station was a continual challenge. He would call for a ride and would wait for a very long time for someone to come pick him up, and eventually gave up and walked to the hop station. Getting a ride back up to his room was equally challenging. He had to walk up the hill to his room multiple times, it’s not just the distance that was terrible, but the hill was super steep. Any person with any mobility challenges would not be able to make that walk. This is the only sandals resort that I’ve stayed in, and I have nothing to compare it not to except the several all inclusive resorts I’ve stayed in Mexico. My personal experience is that the service and the quality of this resort was inferior to the resorts I have stayed in Mexico and at double the cost. I am happy that I experienced it, but I probably will not spend that kind of money to stay in another sandals resort. I wanted to take the time to fairly review this resort, because I really utilize reviews to plan my vacations.

Mikale and Kcavoy made my husband and I’s first sandals trip a memorable one! Their energy together as a duo brought out joy and happiness to all who they spoke to and you felt their presence throughout the resort each day during our stay. If I come back to Sandals Ochi I will be looking forward to seeing two familiar and friendly faces that brought the hype and entertainment daily.

We stayed in the overwater bungalows with butler service and it was so very worth the expense! Earnie and Leon took amazing care of us with attention to every detail helping us celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and my husband’s 60th birthday. Earnie predicted our needs even before we knew what we needed! Romance was added to every detail.
Highly recommend the excursion of reading with the local school kids! Was a great way to learn a bit of the local culture and of course the kids!!
The omelet station masters were amazing too! Wish I remembered their names!

This is the review of our vacation at Sandals South Coast, May 31 – June 14, 2025. This 14-day vacation was extremely enjoyable and very relaxing. Last year, we were there for 19 days and, despite of the island being “hit” by Hurricane Beryl during our stay, all employees, starting with the GM and HM, performed superbly. This one was even better as the weather cooperated, and “our” room had been remodeled! When we arrived, we were recognized immediately by almost all employees, which made us feel as we were home!
Things got off on the right foot as soon as we arrived at Sangster International Airport and we were received by the representative of Club MoBay, Ruth-Ann. She was very professional, yet friendly, and helped get us through the airport in less than 10 minutes! Our complimentary driver to the resort, Ian York, was just as professional, friendly, and informative during our 90-minute drive. Thanks to both Ruth-Ann and Ian!
Once we arrived at Sandals South Coast, the staff sang for us, welcoming us to the resort. Great start!
After the weekend, we were welcomed by General Manager O’Brian Heron, Hotel Manager Alicia Mullings, and Operations Manager Kemar Russie. They were very happy to see us again and gave us the “royal” treatment. Likewise, the staff of the Loyalty and Travel office, led by Trisean Wright, was, as always, amazing. Thanks to Trisean, Odene, and others in the office. Also amazing was the Chief Butler, Ricardo, as were our butlers Jermaine Watson and Makare Barnes. Our butlers really spoiled us! They were simply amazing! For that reason, we asked them to be the butlers for my wife’s sister and her husband, arriving a week after we did, and they gladly accepted. This was the first Sandals vacation for them, and they were really spoiled. The butlers and all personnel met their every need!
Because of our long stay, we had the opportunity to visit and eat at all the restaurants and, without fail, everyone on the staff was very professional and friendly. They surely made our stay very enjoyable! Our thanks to Myoka (Jerk Shack), and to Richard (Schooner’s, I think). Richard invited us to try a cucumber cooler which was delicious and exactly what we needed. Additionally we met Careka & Teveena (Giuseppes); Tamieka and Alisa (Schooner’s breakfast); Joanna, Kimberly, and Garcia (Eleanor’s); Atiba, Kimberly, Cleon, Jekil, and Chrystal (Schooner’s breakfast); Izodale, Lorenzo, and Malik (Neptunes Bar); Izodale (also Martini Bar); Shaniel (Jasmine’s), Shaneka, Jekil, Chrystal, and Talita (Schooner’s breakfast); Shanika also at Schooner’s Bar; Natasha, Anika, and Cleon (Schooner’s); Shaniel and Nekiesha (Elenor’s Breakfast); Alicia (Neptune’s); Asheka and Nicolas (Eleanor’s); Dennis (Martini Bar); Malik and Chuck (Neptune’s Bar); Lynca (Eleanor’s); Adrian (Giuseppe’s); Ramos, Tajay, Ramoy, and Vanishing Lee (Sushi on the Sand). They were all amazing, and there are many others whose names I did not write.
The staff of the Epix Photo was equally helpful and professional. Our thanks to Gerald McLean and Alecia Murray. They were both very friendly and professional.
As always, the entertainment was amazing. Kudos to Rory Frankson, the Jamaican Tenor, who was simply spectacular, as was singer Meloray at the Welcome Home dinner! All the shows at Le Cabaret were very entertaining. Kudos to all members of the Steel Birds band as they were also amazing! Francois, the singer at the Martini Bar was also outstanding and very friendly.
We had two private boat cruises. Koil (boat Captain) and Demane (Crewmember) took care of the first one, while Oliver (boat Captain) and Fuggy (Crewmember) led us the second time. These cruises were breathtaking! During the first cruise, we had a dolphin lead us for a while, and that was quite an experience! During the second, we were treated with an amazing sunset!
The staff of the Red Lane spa was amazing, and our thanks to Claudia and Cardella who gave us two very relaxing treatments. When we left them, we were very relaxed and renewed.
The housekeeping staff were just as courteous and helpful. Thanks to Taeise, Camile, Jada, Clevoi, Tamesha, Anneka, and Radcliffe for all they did to make us feel better to go to our room.
The grounds were well maintained, and all the groundkeepers we encountered were very courteous to us. We did talk to two of them on several occasions, Rodney and Kevin, who exemplified the commitment and professionalism of all of them.
Going back to the airport, our driver was Shaun Murray, and he was as professional, friendly and informative and Ian was! Going back, it took us less than 20 minutes to get through the airport, so we had time to relax at Club MoBay until our departure from Jamaica. Worth noting is that before we left, we booked our 7th future vacation at Sandals, and five of those will be at South Coast! We love this resort!
Our apologies for not listing the names of more Sandals South Coast employees, but, without exception, all of them were very helpful, professional, friendly, and always willing to do whatever it took to make our vacation very enjoyable. And again, our thanks to those who lead by example: General Manager O’Brian Heron, Hotel Manager Alicia Mullings, and Operations Manager Kemar Russie. It was obvious to us that all employees of Sandals South Coast follow their outstanding example, and it makes our vacations, and the vacations of others, more enjoyable, relaxing, and make us anxious to go back!

My wife and I went to South Coast for our 49th wedding anniversary with my daughter and new son-in -law. We went Reunion Week and found that there was lots to do for seniors and the kids were also very satisfied with the amenities! Pickle ball and kayaking for seniors and gym, tennis and snuba diving with mask and air hose. Food was very good. 3 different pools, main, sports and quiet pool. The only disappointment was the whirlpool was under repair.
The staff is very accommodating and friendly! Any issues solved quickly.
We had a none working hair dryer.
The landscaping was awesome and flowed nicely throughout the resort.
We felt comfortable going on late night walks.
Rooms were well maintained as were the buildings.
I would recommend the private car to and from resort. We had David Robertson as our driver and he gave us a condensed history in our hour transit.
Our final comment I would make is that Royal Barbados was our favorite Sandals until now. I would say that South Coast is tied with Royal Barbados.
Not going to say I booked South Coast for next year, as we are trying to see as many Sandals as possible.
Well done, Sandals. We are hoping to do Bahamas next year.

I recently returned from South Coast and finally have time to sit down and write this review. I have so much to say but I’ll try not to make it too long! I’ve tried to remember as many names as possible but do want to say that every single person we encountered was friendly and treated us like family.
This was a birthday trip I’d planned for my husband. This was not our first time booking with Sandals, but it was our first time visiting the South Coast property. It quickly became our favorite. We stayed for 6 nights.
We booked our flights ourselves. Of course, the flight got delayed, then canceled the morning of our trip. There were no more flights available until the following day. Rescheduling with the airline was easy. Calling Sandals and informing them of the change, plus adding an extra day to our stay, was incredibly easy. Everyone I talked to was very understanding and calm, which helped me stop stressing so much about it. It was also easy to reschedule our private transfer to and from the resort.
It didn’t take long to go through customs, and we didn’t wait long in the lounge. Jason was our driver for the private transfer to the resort. We learned a lot of facts about the area from him. We also had some delicious snacks and wine in the car. Due to the length of the commute from the airport, there’s also an opportunity for a rest stop along the way. Upon our arrival, everyone was so nice and welcoming, and they even sang for my husband’s birthday. We arrived around lunch time and got something to eat while the room was being prepared.
We both really liked our room. It was more than enough space for the two of us and whenever we took a break from the sun we hung out on the balcony. We ate our breakfast there every morning. The bed was super comfortable and I swear I fell asleep almost immediately every time I got in it. I also loved the tub. I wish I had one like it at home. My husband compared it to a cereal bowl because it was pretty deep and there was a little ledge to sit on.
Our butlers were Clive and Recardo. This was our second time choosing butler level for booking but it felt like our first time because our last trip was interrupted by a hurricane after the first day. My husband and I are pretty laid back and easy to please. We also tend to handle things ourselves and were trying to find a good balance in terms of how much we called upon Clive and Recardo, so it took us a few days to start getting comfortable with making requests. I could tell Recardo had read the preferences I submitted because he quoted some of the things I wrote word for word. He was also very particular about making sure all parties knew about my nut allergy with every meal, which I appreciate. He even brought some local food to our room one day, which made my husband soooo happy; I’d written in the preferences that he loves local food. Oh, and I’d also mentioned that I love pineapples/pineapple juice. There was a bottle of pineapple juice in our cooler every morning. We stayed hydrated of course but had some great drinks too. Clive introduced us to some drinks we hadn’t had before, like the lemon popsicle. Also, every menu item that Clive recommended at the restaurants was on point. You can definitely trust his judgment. It was also great to talk to him and watch him joke around with my husband.
We ate so much! We enjoyed every meal we had. The only thing I tried that I wasn’t the biggest fan of was one of the rolls at Sushi on the Sand, only because it had a lot of mayo on it. I think the only place we didn’t eat at during our stay was Neptune’s. I would recommend making reservations early for the restaurants that require it. Some of the food we enjoyed includes the fish in foil at the Jerk Shack, the seafood bisque and swordfish steak at Schooners, the curried mutton at Eleanors, and the pollo alla parmigiana at Giuseppe’s. My favorite breakfast items were the salmon eggs benedict and the Caribbean shrimp omelet. As for signature drinks, I think Sushi on the Sand and Jasmine’s had the best ones. Oh, and my favorite dessert was the tiramisu at Giuseppe’s. My husband was hooked on the crepes from Café de Paris and the spicy chicken sandwich and jerk fries from Chick’N Dippers to the point that it became a running joke. There was one day where Clive even brought him two sandwiches for lunch and his favorite crepe as a snack. Now I have to learn how to make crepes at home.
The spa was great! We did the Scents of Love couples massage, which I highly recommend. Thank you to Tiona H. and Amoy B. for the experience! My husband enjoyed the massage enough that he did a different one two days later while I got a pedicure. I think Tiona did his second massage. Shout out to Kerisha M. for the pedicure! I usually dislike having my feet touched but she did such a great job and made me so comfortable that now I’m considering getting it done more often. I had a ton of questions (I don’t know much about skincare beyond the basics) and she answered all of them. Also, Amit in the luxury shop was good to talk to and had some great recommendations for jewelry and watches. We also stopped by the gift shop and everyone there was friendly too.
I said all this and neglected to mention the beach! We are more beach people than pool people, so we were out on the beach for several hours at a time every day. It was so peaceful and everyone seemed to just be doing their own thing and relaxing. That was the exact kind of vibe we were hoping for. I took a few videos while sitting out there and everyone I’ve shown them to cannot believe how peaceful it was.
Overall, we had a fantastic time. My husband said it was his best birthday ever, so mission accomplished. And as dramatic as this may sound, we both feel like this trip has changed us as people. We’re looking at life a lot differently now and can’t wait to return. We’ve already booked the next trip (thank you, Christen F.!) and look forward to seeing everyone and having a good time again. We’ll see y’all next year!

Although the people were welcoming and our Butlers Romanine and Shanice were absolutely wonderful. The room was "tired", the door shades were off or broken track, the cold-water faucet on the tub would not shut fully off, constant dripping was annoying. Complained at the front desk and was never addressed. The mattress was worn out and very uncomfortable. As far as the restaurants, Sundowner was the only one that was good. the rest we visited, including room service were "blah"! You pay for a premium product; we did not receive this. Speaking to other guests and they felt the same.

This was our second trip to Sandals Barbados (our first in March 2020 was cut short when the world shut down due to COVID). The resort was everything we remembered and more. It's actually two resorts right next to each other and you can walk from one to the other without noticing. The beach is long and beautiful (but the water had a lot of seaweed), the pools are amazing especially the rooftop pool on the Royal side, and tons of restaurants. Our favorites were Soy, Portofino, and the Jerk Shack. We ate at Schooners and the French restaurant last time in 2020 but didn't get a chance to visit this year. American Tavern and Spices are great for breakfast. The only drawback to Sandals Barbados is the travel time. We live in Dallas so it's a 3-hour flight to Miami then a 3.5-hour flight to Barbados. So we fly into Miami and stay overnight, then get the earliest flight we can get to the Caribbean.

Overall, the resort was nice enough, but the price was high for the quality of food and rooms. The beds were not comfortable at all. Staff friendliness was hit or miss and at times you almost felt like you were a bother. Hot water in the room was scarce in the evening. I took more than one cold shower. Our air conditioner was leaking to the point of water pooling on the ground and onto the balcony, so my husband called 3 times. No one came until I walked to the front desk to report it. The internet was spotty often. Unfortunately, my husband’s Apple earbuds were stolen and we could never find them. We stayed on the Barbados side but spent more time by the pools at Royal. We definitely loved a many of the pool staff. Shay made a wonderful spicy margarita and went above and beyond to be sure that he had the right ingredients. Chevrine and Dale were so sweet and made sure we always had what we wanted. We just felt in comparison to other all inclusive resorts that we have stayed, Sandals was much more expensive yet not as good of quality. We would go back to Barbados, but would likely stay at a different resort or hotel.

Sade was particularly helpful when we had a problem with a dinner reservation. She went out of her way to remedy the situation. The manager in the Merry Monkey pub was an excellent host. We’ll definitely be back

Barbados Review
We had a lovely time in Barbados this year. It is our 4th Sandals trip. Our butlers, Archie, Jabari, and Jeremy, were great! They were very friendly, helpful, and professional. We love our Sandals trips and will continue visiting their locations each year. We also highly recommend the butler service. This resort was special in that two resorts were located right next to each other, only being separated by a small sidewalk. This gave us even more options for pools, restaurants, and activities without having to shuttle anywhere. We thoroughly enjoyed the convenience it offered. We did mark it as 4/5 stars due to longer wait times and low supplies. One of the restaurants we dined at took over an hour before we received our food. The main pool with a swim up bar often ran out of things (the local beer, tall drinking cups, and certain liquors) within a very short time frame - often after being open for less than an hour. There could also be quite a wait at the pool bar since the majority of the bartenders worked the other side of the bar. It is an inconvenient set up for the bartenders as they had to constantly go up and down a few stairs to take orders and make most drinks. That being said with all of the options available, it was not hard to get a spot by the pool or beach. We never felt overcrowded when enjoying the different pools or the beach.

OK so first thing to say is that we are not normally " all inclusive " type of travellers . We don't drink much and are not hugely adventurous eaters either, so not the normal Sandals type customers really .
So while it was lovely and enjoyable...it's probably more suited to those people who love this kind of holiday.
I am being very honest with this review in the hope it's useful to other travellers.
Firstly what we loved about the place .
It's beautiful, there is no denying Jamaica looks stunning and the resort is fantastically presented and maintained.
The staff were always friendly and plentiful.
The drinks were fabulous..lots of variety and the cocktails in particular were awesome ( I'd recommend a Bob Marley to anyone...even if it's not listed on the menu )
The highlight of everything for me was the room ...beautiful, comfortable and with a swim up terrace to a lovely warm, quiet pool . The bathtub on the balcony was lovely too , but I think the privacy curtains on our terrace could have been longer and maybe fastened better, we used the tie backs to fashion a way to keep them closed in the wind . The room was always immaculately kept and cleaned by Roseanne and when we ran out of shower gel , she got us more when we asked .
The drinks in the room were always replenished, including sparkling wine, everyday .
I also loved the beach and in particular the private island . The clothing optional beach was the quietest and most beautiful.
We also went out snuba diving and this was also brilliant and our guide ( I believe think his name was Mikos? ) was lovely and helpful....this did however come with an additional charge of $125 pp.
This leads me on to what we weren't keen on during the stay ....the extra costs .
There was a seemingly never ending array of people asking us for extras ...from the souvenir sellers who also offer you drugs to the offer of expensive wines , even more expensive spa treatments or payable photographs too . My understanding was there was to be no tipping at Sandals, so we didn't bring any cash , yet the baggage guy at the airport , the driver , the boat captain all asked for tips and we felt bad because we didn't have anything to give .
I know American culture is more geared towards tipping than us Brits so others were more prepared for this , and we would have been if we'd known this was going to be asked .
Overall, the place is geared to an American audience and the staff seemed much more friendly towards the Americans than us , not saying they weren't friendly , but the Americans certainly seemed to get much more banter and better service than we did .
We had some brilliant service at times...Fabian in the pub was consistently lovely , Ruschel at the pool bar was brilliant and the lady in the Indian restaurant was also superb , unfortunately we didn't catch her name , overall the service was very good and the addition of being given a hospitality room after we checked out so we could freshen up and change before our flight was a brilliant bonus ......however we did have a few issues . The main one was with our credit card . It was declined several times when trying to add it to our room . Club Sandals didn't seem particularly bothered and suggested we try and ring our bank . We did that ( at expensive additional phone costs ) to be told it was all fine , we just need to use chip and pin and not swipe . We told this to reception who told us the chip and pin machines don't work and we'd just have to pay as we go ( how we'd do this I never know ) ...not very helpful at all . And Club Sandals again let us down when I asked if the tv in our room could connect to the smart services like YouTube and Netflix as they didn't seem to work ....we were told " no they won't work " , no reason for this ...and later on when I tried fiddling with it myself , I managed to connect them perfectly...it was as if they just couldn't be bothered to help us . Same with our luggage when we checked in . We were told it would be put in our room when we arrived ....after half an hour waiting for a change of clothes , I just went and grabbed it from reception myself - as I offered to do at the start.
I think I should mention the food as well ....it was good . Just good , nothing exceptional apart from the local Jamaican food . The jerk chicken shack and in particular the patties were stunning. The day to day food was OK, breakfast was plentiful but nothing special, only cooked to order omelettes were very good, the rest was just average and the fact that we had to hunt daily for cutlery was really poor . I mean , why not just have a plie put out for people to take? You shouldn't have to go and find someone every morning and be directed to another part of the resort to ASK for silverware. One morning I didnt even get a spoon ... have you ever tried eating cornflakes with a fork ?
The 2 restaurants that stood out were the Indian ( different from British Indian food ) but excellent quality and service. And the French restaurant food was also excellent. The Italian, British, pizza and grill snacks were all a decent standard but not excellent.
Overall every dessert we had was disappointing. Ranging from bland to inedible in the case of the apple crumble .
I did like the DIY ice cream behind the pool bar though.
Lastly , the entertainment was disappointing too .Aside from the activities like jewellery making and wood ornament painting, which my wife really enjoyed and the very windy pool table which was funny trying to play on.....the evening events were pretty stale .....Yes, the singers could sing , but it was very minimal effort and several technical issues with the mics etc didn't help ...and just a tip...if you're going to do a " Broadway night " ...put some actual Broadway numbers in there. There was not one tune recognisable as a song from a musical.
All in all....this was a lovely holiday . Wonderful setting , beautiful sea, pools and cocktails. Friendly staff ( mostly ) and if you're big into all inclusive resorts , you'll probably be hard pushed to beat it . But for me , it was a little wasted and a few minor problems took the shine off a little .
Hope this honest review is of use to fellow travellers.

They go above and beyond any expectations we had what butlers would do. If you go ask for them and your trip will be the best. We stayed in the new rooms with the infinity pool on the 4th floor. You will not be disappointed in them.

We had a nice time. We had some issues while we were there with the AC not working in our room on 2 separate nights (cutting out after midnight) and having to call maintenance. One night they came and another they never showed after the initial call and didn't answer when we called them repeatedly after the no-show. Was resolved in the morning. Restaurants are excellent. The manager did take care of us because of the AC issue. This is an older property.

Relaxing resort. Lacking in entertainment. Beach is small but nice. Room was small and dated and construction going on at our room from 6am to after 10pm was uncalled for and a huge distraction. Lots of little mishaps that is not the norm for sandals . We had hired a private transfer and while waiting we discovered they were not letting him through security even though all credentials were in order and kept trying to put us in a sandals private car at a charge. That was kinda shady. We had heard they had done this to a few other guest and had even made guest walk from the gate back to the resort at after 11pm because they hired an outside car service. I've been to many Sandals and never had this issue.

I’ve visited several Sandals resorts, and unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The resort is quite small and gave off more of a retirement community vibe, with limited daily activities and energy.
The management here felt noticeably different from other Sandals properties—many staff members came across as inattentive or even rude, which was disappointing.
The resort itself is in need of updates. While renovations are underway, areas like the pools require attention, especially with missing or damaged tiles.
We did, however, enjoy visiting the Sandals Grand during our stay and felt much more welcomed there—it had a more vibrant atmosphere and friendlier staff

Amazing vacation at Sandals Halcyon!! We were at Halcyon the first week of June 2025 for 7 days. It was our third time at Halcyon and all were great experiences, but we think this was even the best one of them all! Everything was great and service across the board was fabulous. A few standouts were Deloris at Bayside (always so sweet and a big smile!), Michelle at Loyalty, and Michelle’ and Daliah at the Club lounge. We had a Club level walkout room, WGLT, and loved it. Beach was only steps away and very close to everything. Housekeeping came daily and did a great job as well as the staff kept our refrigerator stocked up daily. We only ordered room service once for dinner, and it literally arrived exactly on time and was good & hot. As far as the restaurants go, we enjoyed them all, but Kelly’s was so good we went twice and had excellent service and great food. No issues getting reservations at all. We did the returning guest loyalty dinner and that was enjoyable with good food and service. We also loved Kimonos and had Lorenzo as our chef and he was so pleasant, funny and made a delicious meal for our table. Also shout out to the Beach Bistro staff and bartenders who were very nice and gave great service for food and drinks. We spent a lot of time on the beach almost daily and we constantly had servers come by to take our drink orders and also provide water to beach goers daily. You have no need to worry about getting shaded spots on the beach. We always saw open shaded chairs at all different times of the day. The water was nice and clear all days except our last day that was quite windy so it churned up the water a bit, but was still very enjoyable. There was no seaweed and no jellyfish and the water was a great temperature. There were a few vendors selling excursions and goods, but they are friendly and don’t bug you. We picked up a few cute trinkets from them to bring home to the granddaughters. The resort grounds are impeccable and just gorgeous! We loved our walks thru the resort daily. We enjoyed the entertainment, especially the fire dancer show and the country singer. We opted to do the free photo shoot and our photographer was Ron and he did a nice job on our sunset photos. You can buy a package or just buy singles for $25 each. The weather was really nice during our week stay. It rained a tiny bit on a few days and had a few days with a bit of wind, but it felt good and did not affect our stay whatsoever. We had several staff members contact us during our stay to check in on how things were going and if there were any issues, so they really want you to have a good experience, so if you experience any issues, you just need to report them and they will take care of it. We did go over to visit the Sandals Grande on 2 occasions and rented a comfy beach cabana for the day ($130). We really enjoy doing this, kind of as our excursion. It comes with a stocked ice chest and a server for the day who can bring you any drinks you want from the bar and they bring you menus to choose your lunch from and deliver lunch to your cabana. Sanjay was our server, and wow he was just amazing! He was so friendly and attentive and made some suggestions on drinks that were so yummy! It shows he really loves his job! The Grande is lovely to go visit and do a beach day, but we still love coming back to our favorite Halcyon resort! We hope to go back again!

I had a fantastic stay at Sandals, and I can confidently say it was one of the best resort experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve started going to these resorts with Beaches, and been crossing off Sandals. I love these resorts! The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff truly went above and beyond to make every moment feel special.
At the Sandals Grande, I want to give a special shoutout to Remy and Devyn, the pool bartenders. Their energy, professionalism, and hospitality kept the vibe fun and relaxed—every drink came with a smile and great conversation.
At the Halcyon, the staff continued to impress. Ronel and Ronald at the front made check-in and every interaction seamless and welcoming. Kayla and Ryan at the pool bar were an absolute joy; friendly, quick, and always remembered our favorite drinks.
Dinner at the Italian restaurant was one of our favorites thanks to Celina, who gave us amazing service and made sure everything was perfect. Veronica, the cook at Bayside, and Kershema, our Bayside waitress, made every meal feel like it was prepared and served with care. The food was delicious, but it was their warmth and attention to detail that made it even better. We also had great conversation every morning.
This trip was unforgettable, and the staff truly made the difference. If you're considering a Sandals stay, I highly recommend it; especially if you have the chance to interact with this amazing team. They deserve to be recognized and compensated well for the joy they bring to every guest’s experience.
Thank you, Sandals, for an incredible time. I’ll definitely be back!

Our experience at Sandals Antigua was absolutely wonderful! The stunning beaches were truly breathtaking, and we thoroughly enjoyed the various tours, especially the island tour and scuba diving—both unforgettable adventures. The bar by the pool quickly became one of our favorite spots to relax, and we have to give a big shoutout to Joy, the bartender, who was not only friendly but made the best drinks!
We dined at Bayside, and the food was absolutely delicious. However, the long wait times were quite frustrating and did take away a bit from the overall dining experience.
During our stay, we had read a few reviews about someone named Alexandra in the Resort Shop and decided to check it out for ourselves—and we’re so glad we did! Alexandra greeted us with the warmest smile. She was incredibly patient, spoke with such grace, and we were honestly surprised to learn that she was still in training. Her level of professionalism was beyond impressive.
While there, we purchased some shot glasses with the Antigua flag, and Alexandra took the time to explain the meaning behind each color and even pointed out the symbolic "V" in the flag. We ended up buying three shot glasses and a few magnets. As she wrapped our items, she also engaged us in a lovely conversation about our trip, never once seeming rushed or distracted.
However, we did notice another staff member named Shantell repeatedly interrupting Alexandra and trying to take over the transaction we found that a bit rude . It felt a bit unnecessary and disruptive. Alexandra was doing a fantastic job on her own and should have been allowed to continue providing us with the wonderful service she was already giving. Alexandra truly made our visit to the Resort Shop a heartwarming experience. Her customer service and positive attitude were exceptional. Keep striving for the stars, Alexandra we hope to see you again on our next trip!

My wife and I stayed at Sandals Grande Antigua at the end of May for 12 nights. Transfer was fine with an unfortunate delayed wait for another couple. Welcome was nice with cold towels and drinks and a swift transfer to our room. The room was clean although tired and in need of an update, we had leaking taps on our bath which was leaving a large area of water on the floor, we reported this as soon as it became apparent and although maintenance did visit to address the issue the repair was inadequate and didn’t stop the leak only slowed it. There was no power from the hairdryer socket in the bathroom and no light on the vanity mirror from the same socket. We also reported this separately to the leaking taps and this was never repaired or addressed throughout our stay. This was problematic as my wife could only use the hairdryer in a socket outside of the bathroom which meant she couldn’t have a mirror which wasn’t great. The room was comfortable and the air conditioning was very good. The room was cleaned daily to a good standard. The resort is beautiful and we loved the beach. The restaurants were nice as was the food. Our only poor experience in this area was Kimonos which was very hot and uncomfortable during the meal lacking in aircon. Once the chef was done he simply went away and the room was left in an uncomfortable silence with dessert still to come and no offer of further drinks. Very strange and lacking experience in our view but that’s just our own opinion on the night. The pub food was great but the decor is very very poor, wallpaper peeling off the walls which was also very dirty, the pub is in desperate need of a redecoration because it really does distract from the rest of the resort. All of the staff we encountered were lovely, friendly and welcoming always asking if we were having a great day and if we needed anything. The main pool was great as were the entertainment staff. Drinks were very good throughout as was the overall service. Check out was fine all be it with a long line of other check outs, transfer was smooth and we managed to get an earlier shuttle which suited us. Was it perfect? No, but over all we enjoyed our vacation and would certainly return again given the opportunity. We visited Sandals Barbados last June and we found Antigua was a much better experience, the staff at Sandals Antigua were far better than Barbados as was the beach.

Service was exceptional, the rooms were just as advertised and so clean, food was great…especially the Sushi bar. The chefs were friendly and knew what we wanted every time we came in. There was a young man who worked there and was so nice too. Hate I didn’t get his name. Joi at the smaller pool was awesome and made the best drinks. Took the excursion into St. John’s for shopping and lunch. Highly recommend that, and to stop at Cheers and Hemingways for lunch. Hope to go back some day!

Shout out to our butler team they made it a truly fantastic birthday- however I don’t think one would be mandatory- there were plenty of sun beds with shades available.
Food wise it was solid- we didn’t have a bad meal here.
All of the staff were lovely and always had a smile. The entertainment was also good.
Would happily go back!

I deeply regret not reading the reviews before booking. Every negative comment was 100% accurate. My wife and I chose Sandals Montego Bay for our honeymoon, trusting the brand’s reputation. Big mistake. We booked the Beachfront Grande Luxe Club Level Junior Suite with Balcony Tranquility Tub — a name that promised luxury and serenity. What we got was neither. Despite providing proof of our recent wedding, we received none of the honeymoon touches they advertise — no rose petals, no romantic gestures, nothing. Well, except for a chilled $8 bottle of champagne. Only after reaching out to the online services with no response until speaking with a manager. So I guess that’s supposed to make it even? The room? Far from beachfront — our view was of a basketball court, not the ocean. The tranquility tub and the “luxe” feel? Total letdowns. It felt generic at best. Here’s the catch they don’t tell you: Unless you pay for a butler, don’t expect: Shaded seating at the beach or pool (it’s all “claimed” for butler guests) Restaurant access without ridiculous waits only if you have a butler. Only one restaurant has a reservation and you’ll have to make it a week in advance. It’s all about upselling once you’re there. As for the pools, the claim of “17” is incredibly misleading. Only two tiny pools are actually public — the rest are small plunge pools attached to certain rooms and are honestly not impressive at all. And let’s not forget the noise: the resort is right next to the airport. Constant takeoffs shake your room and drown out any attempt at peace. Romantic getaway? Not even close. This place felt more like a tourist trap than a luxury resort. If you’re planning something special — especially a honeymoon — I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The Sandals name doesn’t mean what it used to. For the activities such as the
catamaran boating experience have fun being squished with another 10 couples. For the luminescent water experience have fun driving an hour back and forth to wait an hour to swim for five minutes. For the horse ride on the beach. The experience was completely misrepresented — instead of galloping along the beach as shown in the photos, we rode a dirt trail with a brief, five-minute dip in shallow water. No beach, no gallop — just a tourist trap disguised as something special. On top of that, the return shuttle made multiple hotel stops, adding an extra hour to the trip — a detail that could’ve easily been disclosed in advance but wasn’t. And SANDALS don’t you dare come at me with your fake, copy-paste “we’re sorry to hear this” garbage — you don’t care, and you never did. Save the PR spin for someone dumb enough to believe it.

The entertainment team made this trip unbelievable!!! Specifically Akeem and Chris! They were a shining light for us! They connected us with friends and we had so so so much fun together!!!!! We will never forget our time here because of this team!! However, there was one incident that made me upset. Whenever my husband and I were walking back to our room after an awesome entertainment night, we were talking about how amazing the night was and as we were walking back an employee named Akeeliah from the restaurant who wears glasses started mocking me and saying "so amazing, so amazing." I didn't catch it in time to say anything to her but it made me really upset. The restaurant team was about 60/40 on being kind. A lot of them were super nice but some of them were definitely rude. However, we did not let this small experience change our trip! We still had an amazing time and the entertainment definitely made up for it!

My husband and I went with our two friends and had an amazing time. We did Club Level Pink Gin Beach Walkout Room. Each Sandals has its own personality, so I'll share about this one:
Customer service - 10/10. We adored the staff here. Take a walk through the resort and at least 5 people will check on you to see how you're liking your stay or if there's anything they can do for you. We were amazed at the friendliness and level of service at Sandals Grenada.
Room - 9/10. We had an amazing beach walkout room that was very close to the "quiet pool" and the beach. The room itself could use a refresh, which I heard they are doing to these rooms but hadn't done ours yet. The waterfall showerhead was amazing, bed so comfortable, strong A/C, and the patio was mostly private with the curtains (wish they closed all the way). My favorite thing is getting up in the morning and ordering room service while reading a book on the patio. The entertainment is held in the living room which was very close to our room so it was quiet loud when I wanted to turn in early one night, but other than that we stayed out later the rest of the time so it wasn't a big deal.
Spa - 10/10. I got a facial from Kineisha and she was amazing. I wasn't sure which facial I wanted so she combined elements of 2 different facials (totally above & beyond - thank you!!). The facilities were gorgeous as well. They also let us use the steam room and sauna, which I think is complementary to all guests. This helped my husband's allergies immensely. Thank you!
Pools - 10/10. We loved having the choice of a "party pool" (with the swim up bar) or a "quiet pool" to go to. We played pool volleyball almost every day and it was so much fun to hang out with others and meet new people. If you went too late in the day it was difficult to get a chair at the party pool so I recommend going early. Shoutout to Jaydil (sorry if I spelled this wrong) for making everyone's favorite drink - the Jaydil special. There were also two jacuzzis and the one at the quiet pool was the hotter of the two, fyi. I personally like it less hot so the infinity jacuzzi at the party pool was perfect for me.
Water sports - It was too windy for water sports so I can't rate, but shoutout to Jermaine for being the best diving instructor!! 10/10. My husband and I decided to get Open Water PADI certified and we're so glad we did. Jermaine was incredibly patient and kind. After certification, my husband even got to dive to see a shipwreck (there are several not too far off the resort).
Entertainment - 10/10. The dancing and performances were amazing. My favorite was getting to experience some Carribean culture with the Grenada show. We went to many nights of entertainment and we enjoyed all of them. We were too tired after diving to do the silent disco but there were tons of people there having a blast.
Food- 9/10. The french restaurant Le Jardinier and Butch's were my favorite - they had the finest food. My husband's favorite was the Italian place, Cucina Romana. We noticed most of the bread served before dinner was not good, apart from Cucina and the returning member's dinner at Spices (not a huge deal). My milkshake at Cafe de Paris was also very runny. However, those were minor and not a big problem in my book. I loved going to Cafe Paris every day and trying something new. What would have made things 10/10 for me would be having a Pinot Noir included with the included wine offerings and speeding up the room service delivery time (I would usually call right at opening which is 7am and the wait times ranged from 30-45mins). The staff did a great job making tasty strong drinks.
MISC - gym was great, beautiful garden views from the treadmill. There were beaitful lilypads all around with tons of flowers. We loved the fire pits in the water. We spotted a huge iguana by the infiniti jacuzzi! Pink gin beach stretches far down so we loved going on a stroll. There was a project being done outside our room for a few days (adding more sand to the beach) but it did not bother us too much.
Thank you Sandals Grenada for an amazing time! It's no wonder this resort has a 70% re-booking rate. Highly recommend!!

The accommodations were amazing. Huge room with a huge 2 person tranquility tub on the balcony. Food was excellent and Everybody we met at Sandals Grenada were the loveliest and kindest folks ever. Small area for swimming but I was ok with that for me personally.
The pools were just the right size. They had something happening every night in the center of the resort.
Excursions were a bit expensive but they were worth it.
We will be back for sure!
Extra love and recognition to these fine folks

Terick at the welcome desk took good care of us and our anniversary dinner at Butch’s
