Where Sandals Halcyon Beach is and how to get there
Sandals Halcyon Beach sits on Choc Bay just north of Castries on Saint Lucia’s western coast, roughly 20 minutes from Sandals Regency La Toc and 45 minutes from Sandals Grande St. Lucian. The 90-minute Sandals transfer from Hewanorra International (UVF) crosses the island south to north along the scenic west-coast highway. Stay at 1, Play at 3 connects you to both bigger Saint Lucia Sandals plus their full restaurant lineups.

My take on the vibe at Sandals Halcyon Beach
Halcyon is the smallest of the three Saint Lucia Sandals at 194 rooms. The property is built as a single low-rise garden-style resort hugging the cove beach, with red tile roofs and white walls. The architecture is classic 1990s-Caribbean, but a 2018 renovation modernized the interiors. The whole resort feels boutique-scale: you will recognize most of the other guests by day three.
The crowd here skews repeat Saint Lucia visitors and value-conscious honeymooners. Plenty of guests booked Halcyon specifically because it was the lower-priced Saint Lucia Sandals option, with the plan of using Stay at 1, Play at 3 to visit Grande St. Lucian and La Toc for the day. Energy level is the lowest of the three Saint Lucia Sandals: more residential, less programmed entertainment.
The headline feature is Kelly’s Dockside, the overwater grill on a small pier extending into the bay. Sunset dinner there is the resort’s marquee evening experience.
The beach
The Choc Bay beach at Halcyon is private to the resort, about 700 feet of frontage, golden-tan sand, calm-water swimmable. The bay geography means the swimming area is sheltered from open-Caribbean swell year-round; this is one of the calmest swimming beaches in the Saint Lucia Sandals lineup. The water clarity is decent and the offshore reef supports a basic shore-snorkel program.
Halcyon’s beach is shorter than Grande St. Lucian‘s peninsula beach but more sheltered and quieter. The resort runs free shore-snorkel sessions and the snorkel boat takes guests to Pigeon Island reef just north (a 30-minute boat ride, all-inclusive).
The pools and swim-up scene
Three pools, three whirlpools, and one scuba pool. The main pool sits between the lobby and the beach with a swim-up bar. The Lazy Pool at the back of the resort is the quieter morning option. The smaller cove pool by the OWG (overwater grill) deck is the romantic sunset spot.

194 rooms across multiple categories spread along the cove. The marquee category at Halcyon is the Beachfront One Bedroom Butler Villa with Pool: small clusters of butler villas with private plunge pools and direct beach access.

Dining at Sandals Halcyon Beach
Seven specialty restaurants on the resort plus dining privileges at all 10 of Sandals Regency La Toc‘s restaurants and all 12 of Sandals Grande St. Lucian‘s restaurants through Stay at 1, Play at 3. That is 29 restaurants effectively. Reservations are not required at most venues; butler guests get reservations made for them.
- Kelly’s Dockside (Caribbean seafood, overwater pier): the marquee dinner reservation. Sunset overwater grill on a pier extending into Choc Bay. Reservations required.
- Soy Sushi Bar (sushi): casual sushi option, fresh sashimi.

Seven bars total, including swim-up bars at the main pool. Top-shelf liquor, unlimited Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks wine, premium upgrades for butler-tier guests.
Activities, watersports, and what’s included
The all-inclusive includes: PADI scuba (two boat dives a day, plus free Open Water certification), water skiing, wakeboarding, Hobie Cats, paddleboards, kayaks, snorkeling, pickleball, and the fitness center. Plus included green fees at the Cap Estate Golf and Country Club (the Sandals-arranged course used by the bigger sister Sandals, accessed by complimentary shuttle).

Weddings, honeymoons, and proposals at Sandals Halcyon Beach
Halcyon hosts a steady but smaller wedding calendar than the bigger sister Saint Lucia Sandals. The marquee venue is the Kelly’s Dockside overwater pier (sunset ceremony with the Caribbean wrapping around). Beachfront ceremonies use the cove beach. The complimentary Sandals wedding package works the standard way: 3+ night stay and the standard ceremony is free for the host couple.

When to go and how to find a deal
The Halcyon shoulder season runs late April through mid-June and again late August through early November. Saint Lucia sits below the typical hurricane corridor so the August-November shoulder is genuinely usable. Peak winter (December through April) is the most expensive window; January through March is the deepest peak.
Halcyon participates fully in the Sandals deal calendar. Sandals 7-7-7 sales (January, April, October) typically deliver 35-45% off rack rate. Black Friday usually adds another 5-10%.
