I just returned from my third vacation staying at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort. I love staying here because of the love that all of the people here show is so beautiful. Every time we pass someone they always greet us with a big hello and smiles. Love relaxing on the beach sipping on the Bob Marleys! The food is so good in all of the restaurants, especially the buffet breakfasts in Spices! Also loved the Thai Restaurant and Bombay Restaurant. Everyone treated us like VIP's and we look forward to being back there next year. Special mentions to Rochelle/Bombay Restaurant, Neidre, Beverly, Trafari, Mennto, Lamar, Trischelle, Kimoy and all of the other wonderful people there.

I didn’t know what my expectations were until they weren’t met. Second time at Sandals in Jamaica. We booked a butler suite to enjoy the full “Sandals” experience. On our first day our butler sent us on a hunt for food after we arrived (we observed others butlers bring them food from the same locations) and we couldn’t find our butler at dinner or any time after. On the second day we asked to be set up by the pool after lunch and our butler said she would be returning to take our lunch and tell us where we were seated at the pool. She never returned and when we called a few hours later she was gone. Our second butler was much better and booked us dinner, helped us get drinks, was much more attentive. Our second butler picked a great spot by the pool for us. Truly shined in comparison to our first butler. We noticed that the entire resort seemed to shut down for a wedding on Sunday night even room service stopped answering the phone when we called at 8:00. No one ever communicated if the hours were different that day than what they originally told us. Twice in 3 days we had to ask for our hand towels and face cloths to be replenished as they turned down the room and took our used towels but never replaced them.

Great stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean. We love the relaxed and chill vibe at this resort. There’s construction going on but they minimize impacts on guests. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The staff here are so friendly. Each and everyone not only greets you but also checks to see if you are having a good time. We had fantastic butler service by Sherry-Ann, Joslyn and Kish. They took great care of us each day at the beach with special surprises added in (on the beach and in our room). Their service made our trip special and we loved the pampering. Also want to give shout out to Joy, Criss Anne and Jada at Royal Thai. We had 2 great dining experiences there-food was great, service by these ladies excellent. Overall, we had great meals at all the restaurants. Check out Cricketers for after dinner drinks. The bartender, JC, brings the fun and will make your drink just the way you like it. Don’t miss the Red Lane Spa. Keron and Chantana were responsible for an over the top Night Blooming Jasmine couples massage. If you haven’t done this massage, try it. It was the best we’ve had (and we’ve tried most of the ones offered at the Sandals resorts and they’ve all been great). We also give a huge shout out to Dawn Smith, the GM. She runs a superb resort with outstanding staff that makes all the difference to your experience. She takes time to walk around the resort and greet guests and lunch with SSG members. We are returning guests and look forward to future stays at this resort.

We spent our second wedding anniversary at Sandals Royal Caribbean & had the best time! We got SO lucky to meet Quewayne, he helped out my husband who spent most of his day time fishing the private island and constantly checked in on me while I was sunbathing & brought us the best lemonades, he found us everyday & made sure we got the best experience we could get. He was such a big part of making our stay great, we did not want to leave! We stayed in the Windsor building which we definitely recommend as you get great views of the sunrise & sunset without having to leave the room. The nightly entertainment could use some revamping as we were hoping to get the entertainment we got at Sandals Royal Bahamian. We loved the breakfast & lunch buffets at Spices. There is plenty of wildlife to watch around the resort between the birds, stingrays, fish & crabs. A lot of the resort was under construction so it was not packed witch made it so easy to experience everything the resort had to offer.

Topping the list is Sandals Royal Caribbean, the original overwater bungalow resort in the Sandals portfolio—and still the gold standard. Located in Montego Bay, it features a heart-shaped dock that has become iconic for honeymoons and proposals.

These luxurious bungalows offer:

  • Butler Elite service trained to the Guild of Professional Butlers
  • Private plunge pools and Tranquility Soaking Tubs
  • Glass floor panels and overwater hammocks
  • Private BMW transfers and a dedicated water taxi

This resort delivers an unmatched blend of service, romance, and amenities. It’s the best of Sandals butler service and tropical opulence in one perfect package.

Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort & Private Island is one of the most idyllic resorts in Jamaica, boasting an elegant British heritage led by the Georgian-style Great House. Touted as “Jamaica’s Most Alluring Resort,” it’s on the smaller side, so it’s less exhausting to explore. Popular activities apart from watersports are afternoon tea times and games of croquet.

It also boasts its own offshore private island — and that’s where you can find Bali-inspired amenities. It has a pool, beach, cabanas, and the most beautiful overwater bungalows Jamaica has to offer.

One of the go-to restaurants here is Royal Thai serving authentic Thai cuisine that complements the island’s tropical views well. And just in case you want to know it, a portion of the island is a nude beach.

But setting all that aside, your trip is already worth every buck when you get to live (at least for a few days) over fine azure waters. You don’t even have to step outside to see such magnificent views because the bungalow has glass floors. You can relax in the freestanding tub or hammock on its patio with your loved one.

Note that Sandals Montego Bay is conveniently accessible to this resort. So if you want to expand your amenities, activities, and food choices, you can arrange a quick drive to its sister resort.

5 out of 5 for us. That being said, I know some who might not enjoy the "Remoteness" of this Sandals. Approximately 90 minute "interesting' ride from the airport in Montego Bay. Excursions are usually a fair distance and the roads aren't the best, but we are not big excursion people. When we vacation, we are looking for peace and relaxation, and Sandals South Coast does not disappoint! Beautiful resort all around. We've had better beaches, but the packed sand made walking the beach very easy and enjoyable. This property is bordered by a nature preserve, therefore there is a bit of sea grass in the ocean that cannot be removed and might turn some people away, but a very short walk towards the over water bungalows will reveal gorgeous, clear water perfect for a swim, definitely not a deal breaker for us. There is plenty of room on the beach and you never feel crowded. Everyone, staff and other patrons, are very pleasant. The entire staff is very welcoming and attentive. This time we chose a Butler Suite. Our Butlers Clive and Ricardo were outstanding! They took very good care of us, and made sure we had everything we wanted or needed. Dining, excellent! Breakfast to lunch to dinner and anything in-between was great. If you do not find something thoroughly delicious, you have no tastebuds. This resort definitely has probably some of the best dining of the dozens of resorts/hotels we've been to. I could not praise the managers, waitstaff, and chefs enough. Of the five Sandals/Beaches we have stayed at (enjoyed all), this is the first one we have been so excited to return to. We did not have Butlers in 2019, but as you may tell, that was an amazing vacation as well. Daily and nightly entertainment is a lot of fun! Relaxation, fun, luxury, atmosphere. For us, this is the place we want to be, and plan on returning soon. Sandals should be very proud of their South Coast Whitehouse resort, and should use this as a standard for all their resorts.

What a great resort for our honeymoon. Our stay was over the top. We decided on Sandals because we had heard great things from our travel agent who had visited this particular spot. He was right, everything about our trip was great. We reserved a private car service (via Sandals) from the airport to take us to the resort. Best way to go as they pick you up right at the airport and take you to the resort. Learned a lot along the way about Jamaica. Our room was stunning and had a nicely laid-out surprise when we arrived (see photos). Went with the butler service and WOW, that's the way to go. Clive and Ricardo were fabulous and took good care of us. Book your reservations, should you need them, and anything else through them, that way you won't have to wait in any lines..which there weren't any to think of. They escort you right to your table, which was very nice. Food was outstanding, lots of favorites to choose from. We enjoyed Jasmines very much for dinner as well as Eleanors Giuseppe's. If you wanted to avoid the crowd for breakfast, we thought Eleanors was more laid back, though we did do breakfast on our balcony three times. Just fill out your card as to what you'd like and at what time and they deliver it right to your room or balcony. That was awesome!! So was our candlelight dinner on the beach, literally ten feet from the waters edge. It was perfect. THE GROUNDS ARE AMAZING, their lush atmosphere, flowers and trees are breathtaking too. Our beach cabana was reserved our entire stay and our butlers had whatever drinks and a few surprises for us each day in our personal coolers. The beach was very nice, we could walk for quite a ways if we wanted. The water is spectacular but we will say, the bottom off of our beach had a muddy feel to it, not sand. You get use to it and it was fine. There is spots set aside for more of a sand bottom but we did not partake. The snorkel boat was right on property so that was great for our short trip out and back from the reef. Latitudes Overwater Bar is under construction due to the hurricanes and some large trucks did drive along the beach from time to time. Overall we love our honeymoon experience and first taste of Sandals, we can't wait to try more of their locations! Chris & Renee

We just got back from our first Southcoast experience and all I can say is WOW! We were blown away by the customer service and attention to detail in all aspects of this resort from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. The grounds of this resort are beautiful and immaculately maintained. We spent the majority of our time at the Longbeach pool since our room was in the Longbeach building. We really enjoyed this pool as it is more lowkey and quieter than the big pool. They play nice background music and it is not too loud. It is a great laidback atmosphere. There were some games throughout the day, which was nice. The bartenders at this pool bar were a lot of fun and were always suggesting different drinks to try. We reserved a private beach cabana w/a butler one day and it was amazing! The cabana was set on a relatively private part of their beach and we were never bothered by anyone walking by. Javal was our butler and he made sure our day was perfect. He was constantly bringing us delicious food and fun drinks and kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything. He was so kind and we really enjoyed visiting with him throughout the day. We will definitely request him again! We went on the glass bottom boat tour one morning. It is an activity that is included with the resort, so we thought we would give it a try. Despite not seeing many fish, we had a great time. O'Brien was our tour guide and made the trip educational and really fun! We tried several of the restaurants and the food was great at every one. We particularly liked the Jerk Shack for lunch - the chicken is soooo good! We went to Schooner's every morning for breakfast, which was also very good. The staff at Schooner's went out of their way to be sure your breakfast was exactly the way you wanted it. We aren't seafood fans, so we didn't eat at a couple of the restaurants, but everyone we met said the seafood was amazing! We stopped in the Club Sandals building several times throughout our stay to ask various questions about entertainment, restaurants, activities, etc. And each time we were greeted warmly and our questions answered kindly. A special shout out to Tracy and Clarke who were extremely helpful. Overall a 10/10 experience for us! Before we left the property we booked another trip to return there in 2026! Can't wait to go back!

Sandals South Coast was an amazing experience. From the beautiful room to the delicious restaurants, we had the best vacation ever! This year was our second trip to South Coast. We enjoyed relaxing on the beautiful private beach, attending the evening entertainment, socializing in the two pool bars, tasting the scrumptious deserts and coffee at Cafe de Paris, and resting the night away in our beautiful room. The staff was very helpful and very friendly and the excursions were plentiful. I would highly recommend vacationing at Sandals South Coast Jamaica!

Sandals South Coast offers overwater bungalows with an adventurous edge. It’s perfect for couples who want romance with a side of adrenaline—think scuba diving, snorkeling, and even sailing all included.

Highlights include:

  • Infinity-edge plunge pools and outdoor showers
  • All-inclusive water sports and land activities
  • Romantic over-the-water chapel and sprawling beach

This resort offers great value for those seeking both luxury and activity. For budget-conscious travelers, it’s often ranked among the cheapest Sandals resorts for the overwater category—without sacrificing quality.

It’s not only overwater bungalows Caribbean that you can find on Sandals South Coast. They also have other over-the-water structures like a chapel and a bar. All these amenities will bring you closer to Jamaica’s perfectly blue southern waters.

This adults-only resort is set along two miles of mesmerizing waters. Though it’s located some distance from the airport, you can enjoy it better because it’s more secluded than other resorts.

Sandals South Coast is situated on a private nature reserve. What does it entail? You’ll be surrounded by lush greenery and breathe in more refreshing winds. You also have more on-land activities to choose from.

But if you’re more of a beach person, you have a long stretch of private coastline to enjoy. Their over-the-water amenities are a testament to the resort’s belief in the power of water. You can bask in serenity, rejuvenate your mind, and appreciate life better when you get that close to the ocean.

Because their awesome bungalows are made for two people, it’s not hard to see why the resort is named one of the Caribbean’s leading honeymoon resorts. You can still spend quality time with your partner even when you’re in the pool — after all, they’re home to one of the largest swimming pools on the island.

Want to explore beyond this all-inclusive resort? Sandals offers guests a convenient trip to YS Falls, a seven-tiered waterfall and one of Jamaica’s most magnificent gems.

The one thing I will say is DO NOT book "oceanfront" rooms. They are on the other side (no beach and it is a street). You need beachfront or pool front or lagoon etc. Larry the manager was very nice and was able to swap us from this room. However, once we were swapped we had the BEST TRIP EVER. The service was phenomenal. I wish you could order from the restaurants for room service but it is what it is. I am a vegetarian so it is a little hard for me at certain places but they were beyond accommodating and I was able to customize many things to fit. The main pool was fun. Out of the restaurants only 3 need reservations (book Gordon's early). The beach was so close that you heard everything going on it was nice. There were bars EVERYWHERE which was a nice plus that you didn't have to walk so far. The main pool had chairs and if you wanted quiet there were other pools (especially the lovers pool with the hot tub was quiet and peaceful). They put so many details into this resort. The pool and beach service was great. We really don't have any bad comments. Maybe more options of food at each restaurant or more options for room service. We also wish the late night pub had more options because that was the only thing open late night. But just small comments. Overall, such a great trip, beautiful location and even better people! We wanted to give a special shoutout to the below people: - Anicia - fav bartender. Amazing!!! I can't begin to explain how great anicia was. Not only did she make AMAZING drinks, she listened, complimented you, had AMAZING energy and vibes. It made it fun. We would walk further to go back to her - Carissa and Fay: great pool service and we're super attentive. - Ansel- photographer. She sat with us and gave us all the tips on the island and for the resort. Learned sooo much. So friendly and helpful. She didn't need to do that but went out of her way. - Curtanya-- day time cleaner. Wow wow we were blown away. We left the safe open and everything was there. She even FILLED our ice bucket daily. Amazing, so nice and so trustworthy. She extra cleaned with love. - Tyle - turndown service. Also really great! Was super nice and respectful - Egbert - great lobby bartender. He would give the helpful hints and was ready if you wanted more - Cherish and emerald - club sandals. They really went above and beyond. They send a cake and flowers to the room for our birthdays. Helped us when we moved rooms and checked on us constantly. They had great energy and were always happy. They were great. I've been on many trips and to multiple sandals and this was one of my favorite ones. I also felt like people actually participated in their day and night events which usually it's not as many. This was fun and easy to make friends!

Our honeymoon at Sandals St Lucia was disappointing due to a series of issues that made our stay frustrating rather than enjoyable. We originally booked a beach view room but were told upon arrival that none were available. Instead, we were upgraded to a walkout pool room, which we did not want. There was no effort to resolve this, and we had no choice but to accept it. Service throughout the resort was very slow. The waiting times to eat were too long, whether at restaurants or room service. Staff often appeared annoyed when asked to assist with anything, making us feel like we were inconveniencing them. A major issue was the lack of enforcement regarding chair reservations at the beach and pool. Every morning, guests would leave personal items on chairs to claim them, yet many of these seats remained empty all day. There was no effort to address this, making it difficult to find available seating unless we followed the same practice. The resort had nightlife insect noise speakers placed throughout, and they were overwhelmingly loud. Instead of being relaxing, they were disruptive and made it hard to enjoy the surroundings. Dining was another frustrating experience. We tried to book hibachi on our first day, but it was already full. We checked every night for cancellations and finally got in, but the experience was ruined by a chef who made inappropriate jokes. It was uncomfortable, and we just wanted the dinner to be over. The weather was extremely hot, and there were little to no cooling options around the resort. There were no misting stations, cooling fans, or shaded areas, so guests were left sweating all day and night. Room service took too long, and they never brought beer despite it being part of the service. We decided to leave early due to a hurricane approaching Miami. The front desk and reservation staff assured us that we would be reimbursed if we had insurance, but this turned out to be false. Despite following the steps given, no reimbursement was provided. The only highlights of the trip were our excursions, especially the ferry ride from the airport to the resort. Everything else was disappointing. As we were walking to check out, a rock hit me just below my eye from a landscaper who was weed whacking. He appeared to notice but did not say anything. We previously stayed at Royal Plantation and had a great experience, but this visit has made us reconsider ever returning to a Sandals resort. Unfortunately, we booked another trip to use the on-resort additional discount and purchased insurance, which turned out to be misleading and non-refundable. Now we are stuck with another visit we do not look forward to. For a resort that promotes itself as a luxury all-inclusive experience, this trip did not meet expectations. We could not wait to come back home, which is not how a honeymoon should feel.

Unfortunately this resort is not even close to a 5 star resort! We went in with high hopes of a Sandals resort as it was our first visit and unfortunately the room we were in had several faults including a broken bed and broken rails in the bathroom. The room was also incredibly dated BUT once we complained about this we were upgraded which was very good. The main reason for the poor review is the service, it is beyond bad. The lack of care from the staff, the disorganization across all the restaurants was dreadful and it took forever to get served for anything. The resort just felt soulless with very little repore with any staff and many just looked like they didn't want to be doing the job. The positives of the resort is it's very clean, the food was good (when it finally arrived), but if you are someone who has been to somewhere like Mauritius or other Indian ocean islands you will feel very let down by the dated rooms and poor service. It's definitely put us off ever visiting the Caribbean again and Sandals was beyond disappointing.

Located on a narrow peninsula in Saint Lucia, Sandals Grande St. Lucian delivers jaw-dropping views and a tranquil experience. Its overwater bungalows are ideal for couples seeking serenity and scenery.

What sets it apart:

  • Panoramic Caribbean Sea views
  • Private Tranquility Soaking Tubs on the deck
  • Access to two other Sandals resorts via complimentary shuttle

Perched on its own peninsula, Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort is the place to be if you want an unobstructed 360-view of the stunning Caribbean Sea and Rodney Bay. Throughout St. Lucia — an island found between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean — this is the only resort to have overwater bungalows.

These cleverly designed accommodations give you direct access to the calmest waters in all of Jamaica. However, it’s not just the bungalow’s location that’s appealing. Sandals have overwater bungalows with excellent personal butler services, access to premium liquors, and unlimited food from 12 gourmet restaurants.

While Sandals overwater bungalows let you enjoy a unique stay in the Caribbean, the resort has more to offer. If you’re a golf lover, you’ll be delighted to know they have a golf course designed by no other than golf legend Greg Norman. Sandals Golf Club at Sandals Regency La Toc is a nearby golf course. And green fees and roundtrip shuttles for both are already included in the cost of your stay.

The other two Sandals resorts in St. Lucian — Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort & Spa and Sandals Halcyon St. Lucia — are also within cost-effective reach. When you avail of their Stay at One, Play at Three Exchange Program, you can stay at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian and access the amenities of its sister resorts.

The resort is also located near the Pigeon Island National Landmark. It will be a quick escape if you want to take a break from the waters.

This was my first ever trip, first Sandals resort. Before I went I truly thought this vacation would be a one and done. Boy was I wrong, St Vincent Sandals Resort was amazing. Rooms, restaurant's, entertainment, massage by the river, staff, and just the beauty of the land. I am more of a hermit and thought I would stay in my room a lot. I played water volleyball, (where I met one of my favorite staff members Mr. Omali) this man was so funny along with darrell in pool volleyball. participated in the pool kayak racing, snorkeled with the fish (I am afraid of fish) but I was not. They were so beautiful. I will never forget this wonderful experience I had. We stayed for 7 days and I want to point out that every single day I saw Omali which was several times through out the day/night he knew everyone by name including mine. He made a point to say hello. He is definitely one of a kind and although there are other sandals resorts. Omali will definily be one of the reasons I would want to come back to St Vincent.

The resort was well maintained, clean and welcoming. The staff really make the experience worth while. It’s like visiting friends you didn’t know you had until you arrive. Omali and Daryl are two of the best! They are always up for good conversation, questions about the island and culture, and above all, inviting. They are sure to pull you into the resort shenanigans and create a fun environment. The food was great and there was always something to do if you are not one for relaxing at the pool. I can’t say enough positive things about this resort, I will definitely be back!

This trip was amazing! The resort was absolutely wonderful and the staff made the trip. Great! OMALI was especially wonderful. he was always there to make sure we were having a great time and involved us in all the fun activities. DARRYL was also a great employee. Both of these guys made the resort extra special. OMALI made you feel like you were extra special and recognized us every where we went each day. He was amazing as he remembered everyone’s name that he met throughout the day he would acknowledge you daily while you were there and gave us a great sendoff! If you have a chance to go to this wonderful resort when you get there, make sure you ask for OMALI and tell him the Smiths sent you! The food here was great the infinity pool by the ocean and the bartenders there were amazing. We couldn’t have had a more personalized accommodating vacation for our group and will definitely be returning to spend some time with our friends somali and Darryl!

Why Book A Sandals Overwater Bungalow

Sandals’ overwater bungalows masterfully blend the rustic charm of traditional palapa-style architecture with the sleek comforts of modern luxury. Inspired by the design of classic nipa huts, these bungalows are built with innovative construction techniques to deliver an exceptional, over-the-sea experience.

One of the standout features is the “sea-through” glass floor panels, allowing you to admire the crystal-clear Caribbean waters beneath your feet — morning, noon, and night. Inside, you’ll find a spa-style bathroom, a plush king-size bed, and thoughtful details designed for relaxation and romance.

Step outside onto your private deck and soak in the tropical beauty from a Tranquility Soaking Tub for two — a luxurious freestanding tub with panoramic ocean views. Or sway gently in the over-the-water hammock, perfectly positioned for sunset gazing and stargazing.

The personalized butler service, included with every stay, sets these bungalows apart. Trained to the elite standards of the Guild of Professional Butlers, your butler will anticipate your needs, from drawing a bubble bath to delivering champagne under the stars, ensuring your stay is seamless and indulgent.

Your stay also includes access to unlimited gourmet dining and premium beverages across the resort. Inside your bungalow, the fully stocked minibar offers water, soda, juice, local beers, and Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks wines. And for coffee lovers, every room features a coffee maker with Jamaican Blue Mountain Blend — one of the most sought-after coffees in the world.

From floating hammocks to five-star service, Sandals’ overwater bungalows redefine the meaning of all-inclusive Caribbean luxury — and they’re worth every penny.
