There were so many great things about our trip to this resort, but I wish I would have known some of the negatives ahead of time. The food quality and service was really hit or miss. Our check in was past 4, so we couldn’t book reservations at any of the reservations required spots that day. We went to the walk in spot and it wasn’t very busy. It took 20 minutes to get drinks and over 2 hours to get our food. 4 tables who were sat after us received their food before us. When the food came out not all of the dishes were correct and it was ok quality. Fast forward on our trip, food service was much better at the reservation restaurants and quality was much better. Thai = some dishes were a bit bland but some were phenomenal. French = everything we tasted was great. The pub of all places which we didn’t even realize until the last day served food was GREAT (and the fastest)! Bartenders throughout were friendly and pretty fast. Sometimes they seemed to get annoyed with making shots. We weren’t ordering them non-stop, but still they weren’t thrilled. The entertainment team members were great! Tasheka, Happy Feet, and Dr. Smooth - you guys were great. Shout out to Marsha for slipping a mini- silent disco for us! We obviously came to this resort expecting and wanting a couples resort that wasn’t a rave party, but we weren’t expecting it to be quite so low key. The fire show and the one love show were great! We went over to the Montego Bay resort for one of the days to play pickleball and hang out. The pools at both are very small compared to resorts we are used to, but the layout and modern style of the Montego Bay is more youthful. Royal Caribbean is a bit more dated and needs some repairs and maybe a little modernization in some spots. Would we go to Sandals again based on our experience? Yes? But, if you’re 20-40, I would consider some of the other resort chains we’ve gone to first for the price we paid for this trip. If you’re looking for a quaint, romantic get away with phenomenal views and great overall service, I would however recommend this to be added to your short list!

Do yourself a favor and book a different resort . Communication is horrible here from the moment you step in the lobby and speak to the greet staff . In addition to being poorly trained and informed much of the staff is not friendly , particularly the bar and server staff . We spent time at the sister resort and it seems to be a much better ran resort it definitely had better entertainment , nicer hospitality staff . The transportation people were also helpful there . Just a much better vibe left me wishing we had booked there instead of royal .

We traveled last week for 5 nights with our 2 adult children and their significant others. That meant there were 6 people reading reviews in advance, needing coordination with meal fables, etc. We decided to try the Butler level category for the first time, hoping it would ease our coordination burden. WOW. I will get to Sherry Ann and Roland in a minute, but first the things we read online in advance that had us worried. Construction: Yes, the overwater bungalows were all being refurbished, but it had zero impact on our trip. Construction Noise: I guess if you really were paying attention, you might hear a random hammer or machine, but we were in the building closest to the construction and it was not an issue. Private Island Pool closed: Well, it has reopened and made for a nice “new” spot to enjoy mid way through our trip. Beach is Small: Yes, and there are not as many people at this resort as other Sandals, so there was always a beach chair available or someone (even beside the Butler) who were happy to help with towels and chairs at the pool or beach. One of our party had a food allergy. EVER SINGLE TIME we sat down, the server asked “Any food allergies?” And when we said yes, they immediately gave a menu rundown of what was okay and what to stay away from. And when food for 6 was delivered, they would confirm which of us had the allergy. So professional! Now, for Sherry Ann and Roland. They had carefully studied our pre-arrival preferences (such as pre-order of a birthday cake for my Daughters Birthday), helped us pivot reservation plans when we decided at the last minute to change (again, for 6!), made sure I was never far from a cold water or Red Stripe no matter where we were on property, and suggested some new drinks that were always a treat! Finally, the best example of great service - We planned to go to the Reggae Sumfest music festival in downtown MoBay, which was great. Sherry Ann coordinated with our taxi driver to have lawn chairs in the taxi waiting for us to use when we were picked up! My kids have made up a song about Roland and Sherry Ann after we left that is sung to the tune of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” (“No Roland, No Cry. No Sherry Ann, No Cry”). We were laughing so hard on the bus back to the airport. I would be remiss not to mention the so very many more that made our trip great but I’m not great with remembering names - The lady shuttle boat Captain to the Island was as skilled of a boat driver as I have ever seen, the bartender with the bucket hat at the island who poured drinks as if he had 4 arms, the Chef in white coat at the Jerk Shack that shared her secret recipe for the Hell Fire jerk sauce, just to mention a few. Thanks for taking care of my family. We have rebooked and will see you all in December 2026.

As the first Caribbean resort to debut these spectacular accommodations, it offers an exotic blend of British elegance and tropical indulgence — all just 15 minutes from Sangster International Airport.

But the real showstopper? The overwater bungalows and villas. Suspended over crystal-clear waters, these luxurious hideaways come with see-through glass floor panels, private soaking tubs, overwater hammocks, and personalized Butler Elite service. The overwater villas go even further, offering private infinity pools and outdoor showers for the ultimate secluded retreat.

We had the best week at Sandals South Coast July 14-19! Sandals makes everything so smooth from arrival to departure. Upon arriving at the resort, we were greeted with cool towels and a welcome song by the staff. We were quickly ushered into the lobby where we waited just a short time to be greeted by our butler (more about the butlers later). Our room was not ready so our butler escorted us to lunch, got us a drink and then went off to help get us in our room as quickly as possible. The effort there was greatly appreciated! The grounds at Sandals are immaculate! The tropical greenery is gorgeous and grounds are clean and well kept. We stayed in the Starlight Penthouse One Bedroom Butler Suite and it was wonderful! It was spacious, comfortable, in a great location and had wonderful views. The room did show a little wear and tear so if you go in thinking you won't see any of that, you will most likely be disappointed. The bed was so comfortable; the shower had two shower heads which was glorious; there was a tub in the room and on the balcony. The beach is long and has plenty of room. The water is the best between Latitudes and the over water bungalows. There were clear patches of water with no sea grass here and even though we brough them, didn't need water shoes. We enjoyed the food at the resort! Our favorite dinners were at Bayside and at Jasmine's. My husband had the chef's special at Jasmine's and it was phenomenal! We really enjoyed the chicken and taco food trucks as well as the jerk chicken shack. We probably wouldn't dine at Eleanor's again - it was very slow and it was probably our least favorite meal of the week. Our butler team was Kamar and Joy and they really elevated our stay!! They both had great personalities and went above and beyond to do so many things for us. Kamar helped expedite our room availability upon arrival and he made sure we had the best tables for our dinners! He had snacks waiting for us in our room each day as we got ready for dinner as well as brought us drinks on the beach. Joy surprised us with several special items only butler guests can get and we enjoyed that!! She got us plates of dessert from Cafe Paris in the evening and had them in our room for us when we returned for the evening. They decorated our room for us for a birthday and celebrating just being there in loved! The little touches were so nice. Thank you again Joy and Kamar for a fantastic time at South Coast!! We hope to see you again! Overall, our trip was amazing. This was our fourth Sandals stay, second at South Coast, and probably our most favorite stay! Every staff member we encountered was so happy and so helpful and joyful! We appreciated everyone's commitment to helping us have a wonderful vacation and can't wait to visit again!!

We had an amazing time and would like to commend those who have made our stay so special. From the beginning Lotoya (loyalty manager) welcomed us and made us feel at home. Casseana from redlane spa did a spectacular job with my hair and makeup for our vow renewal. Tevar and Kevin took great care of us at the Rondovals helping a lot with our wedding day. Kemar (Manager)was a life saver helping press my wedding gown after I burnt my hand. O’Neill from the photoshop took amazing photos and is extremely humble. The resort chefs and servers have been amazing with my allergies, Enrique and Tedroy went out of their way to make sure my meals were safe. Lastly, Radcliffe and Annika have been very kind and helpful with our room. Our butlers Stephen and Rayon also went above and beyond making our stay at the bungalows perfect. Highly recommend the resort and the staff.

We spent a week at Sandals South Coast in July 2025. We had been to a few other Sandals previously and had good experiences. This was by far the best of the Sandals we have visited. The staff was phenomenal! We cannot say enough good words about them. Our butlers Alicia and Tiffany were outstanding. Shemar took us out on the Hobie Cat and showed my husband how to sail - he was so kind and helpful! The restaurant chefs met with me, as I have food allergies/intolerances and they were wonderful - meals were delicious! The breakfast buffets could not have been better!! Every restaurant had kind and attentive staff - Juleyanne at Bayside was a beautiful hostess!! Our room was spotless! The beach was beautiful! We could not have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back! Well done Sandals South Coast!!

We stayed at Sandals South Coast for our anniversary and had such a great time. The resort is absolutely beautiful—huge property, quiet beach areas, and some really good restaurants (especially loved Eleanor’s). If you’re booking, I highly recommend getting the private transfer instead of the shuttle. We made the mistake of doing the shuttle when we arrived, and it was pretty stressful. The private ride on the way back was smooth and relaxing, and our driver, Nikolai, was so kind and knowledgeable. We did a vow renewal while we were there, and I can’t say enough good things about Chevelle, our coordinator. It actually rained that afternoon, but she handled everything so calmly and made sure the ceremony still felt special. Khalia at the front desk also helped us out during checkout and was super friendly—just one of those people who makes things easier. We’ll definitely be back. Already missing it.
