In April 2025 we stayed at Sandals Royal Caribbean for the first time. We have been to most of the Sandals locations in Jamaica and Mobay twice and which up till now was our favourite. However, Royal Caribbean has just pushed its way to the top of our list. This was primarily due to our two Butlers JP and Kemar, Butler Manger Krishna and the overall great service from all the staff. JP even helped me improve my Patwah! The food and service at the restaurants on the resort was excellent, meeting and in some cases exceeding what we’ve come to expect from Sandals. Krishna went above and beyond to accommodate our accessibility needs, working in the background with reservations, front desk and housekeeping even though the resort was almost full. He followed up with us several times during the next week and again on our departure day. And on our departure day, what pleasant service we received from the Bellmen Oscar and Gabriel….you could just see the genuine enjoyment they had interacting with us while ensuring that all our suitcases were accounted for and loaded on the correct transportation in time for our flight. And finally what a pleasant surprise it was to run into Royal Caribbean General Manager Ms Dawn Smith a couple of times, who we remembered as the former General Manager at Mobay for a couple of decades.

This was the first time my husband and I went to an all-inclusive resort and first time at Sandals. We had a swim up suite that was beautiful. It was peaceful and quiet. The activities were near the main pool and we would go back and forth. We enjoyed the food. The restaurants were better than room service, but we enjoyed the room service for lunch, so we continue relaxing at our swim up suite. We went to Montego Bay Sandals and went to Butch's and the sushi restaurant. We liked Sandals RC because it was small and seemed much more intimate that the Montego Bay resort.

First time at a sandals resort, we stayed 6 days and 5 nights. Absolutely wonderful time for honeymooners in Jamaica. However, the highlight of this vacation was our butler. Kevoy was phenomenal, this young man is highly energetic and caters to your every want. He made our reservations ensured we had the best spot at the beach and pool. He was very well spoken, able to hold an intelligent conversation, and able to get whatever you asked for. There were some days I questioned if he even slept, as he was my butler for two days in a row. I would recommend him to anyone purchasing a stay with butler service. His can do attitude and demeanor exemplify his ability to go above and beyond what a butler is capable of.

Had an excellent couples vacation. Employees were always available if needed. Our room was in the Highgrove building , loved the lagoon pool outside this building. Was never crowded and we had a cabana hut everyday. Alexis the bartender at the Tiki bar was THE best, just loved her and her Mojito's. Food was good. Resort and room was always kept clean. Would recommend SRC to anyone who likes a smaller and layed back resort . This was our second visit to this Sandals and will be back in the future but on to visit more Sandals resorts we have not been to yet

We came for our honeymoon and our butlers were awesome. Sherry Ann and Alex made our time here at Sandals a relaxing and enjoyable one. The entire Sandals staff were super friendly and great. The opportunity to stroll from property to property was a nice option too. Allowed us to see what other Sandal resorts had to offer. Breakfast and lunch buffets had a lot to offer for all tastes. The ability to go from RC to Montego Bay was great. Wonderful place and we will be returning.

If you’re dreaming of overwater bungalows in Jamaica, Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay is the ultimate destination. As the first Caribbean resort to debut these spectacular accommodations, it offers an exotic blend of British elegance and tropical indulgence — all just 15 minutes from Sangster International Airport.

Location

This adults-only, all-inclusive Sandals resort is set on the north coast of Jamaica. It’s perfectly positioned for easy access to the airport and popular attractions like Rose Hall Great House and Doctor’s Cave Beach.

Unique Dual-Resort Experience

Sandals Royal Caribbean is split between the main resort — with its regal, garden-lined pathways and British flair — and a private offshore island that brings Bali to the Caribbean. The island is accessible via a charming dragon boat and features its own private beach, swim-up bar, pool, and even an authentic Thai restaurant.

But the real showstopper? The overwater bungalows and villas. Suspended over crystal-clear waters, these luxurious hideaways come with see-through glass floor panels, private soaking tubs, overwater hammocks, and personalized Butler Elite service. The overwater villas go even further, offering private infinity pools and outdoor showers for the ultimate secluded retreat.

Amenities & Activities

Guests of the overwater accommodations enjoy exclusive in-room dining, but the resort also offers:

  • 9 gourmet restaurants and 5 bars
  • 8 pools and 6 whirlpools
  • Complimentary scuba diving, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, hobie cat sailing, and more
  • Land sports including croquet, beach volleyball, and tennis
  • A modern Red Lane® Spa and state-of-the-art fitness center
  • Daily and nightly entertainment

Plus, thanks to the “Stay at 1, Play at 2” program, you can easily enjoy the amenities of nearby Sandals Montego Bay with complimentary shuttle service — doubling your dining and activity options.

Sandals South Coast Jamaica was my favorite trip my husband and I have gone on. This resort outdoes themselves. The resort is gorgeous. We stayed in a Rondoval suite. It was so romantic and quiet. I think we had to have had the best butlers at the resort, Tevar and Kevin. Tevar must have the energy of 10 men. He brought us things before we could even ask for them. All with an amazing fun and friendly attitude. Kevin and Tevar both set us up with poolside coolers and saved chairs, brought us lunch, snacks, drinks, and escorted us to dinner every night. How could you ask for more. They just went above and beyond. The staff sang to us on arrival and at our Anniversary dinner. The food was great. My favorite was the breakfast curry chicken and potatoes. Everything was great. Thank you South Coast for a wonderful trip.

We just returned from a five night stay at Sandals South Coast and are already counting the days until our 2026 visit. This was our third Sandals resort, and it ticked all of our personal travel boxes as two 40-somethings seeking a primarily peaceful retreat with opportunities for fun/socialization if desired. The Long Beach balcony room (LB1) was incredible; spacious with a separate living room/kitchenette and bedroom/bathroom, a huge three headed shower/indoor and outdoor soaking tubs, and an impressive balcony with ocean views and sounds. Our Sandals friends we met this trip were frequently admiring the balcony feature of our room category. It was perfect for in room dining or evening champagne. The second best thing about our trip was our butler team Tavoy and Khani. These two met our every need and in short order learned to predict what we needed before we even asked. Both of these young men are impressive gentleman and hard workers. They are also friendly and outgoing and by the end of the trip felt like family. These two features alone; the room category and our specific butler team are why we rebooked the same exact trip in one year. We know Sandals has other properties to offer, but why mess with perfection? Other pros of the resort are: (1) its layout; the large size offers secluded, quieter spaces and fun, boisterous places depending on your mood (2) the Long Beach pool was lovely; again, quieter but with great bartenders, drinks and entertainment. Jahmone is hilarious! (3) the food was the best Sandals food we’ve had so far (previous trips were La Toc and Emerald Bay so we assume it is supply chain differences); there was also a ton of variety; we didn’t get to try all restaurants in only five days (4) bar hours were fantastic; other Sandals resorts’ bars seemed to close earlier and there seemed to be periods of time where it was harder to get a drink but not at South Coast. (5) the grounds are immaculate; crews are constantly working; everything is meticulously clean inside and out (6) the staff are incredibly friendly; most everyone greets you or smiles at you (less than 5 folks seemed not as friendly as what seems to be the standard) (7) the Loyalty office was great; Cristen was a tremendous help with the rebooking process. Finally, in full disclosure, parts of the resort we did not partake in included: (1) entertainment; we just prefer quiet evenings is all (2) the beach; the water was not clear and between urchin warnings and friends being stung by jellyfish, we stuck to the pool. Overall, Sandals South Coast is the perfect Sandals resort for us, and we cannot wait to return in June 2026.

The beautiful landscaping and the beautiful people really make this place special above and beyond any expectations we could have had! Thanks so very much to Shinnell, Tracy, Obrien and Jevoy (+many more I can’t remember names) who really went out their way to make us feel like family….. but also like royalty. I can’t say thank you enough to the extremely hard working and professional Sandals staff, especially the housekeeping and restaurant folks who pampered us and really showed real Jamaican hospitality. Special shout out to Chuck and the boys at the Martini Bar who handled a flood of drink orders everyday and every night but always got the drinks right on! Can’t wait to experience this type of hospitality perfection again soon, but just know that Sandals Southcoast sets the bar very very high.

Our 8 day stay in the rondoval Swim-up Butler Villa with Private Pool Sanctuary was amazing. Kevin and Jamoy were the best butlers waiting on our every need, from booking our excursions to providing us with a private anniversary meal on the patio. They would stop by with drinks, food and snacks as if they could read our minds. We have booked another stay and will be requesting Kevin and Jamoy again as our butlers. Sandals South Coast is a relaxing and gorgeous place to stay whether you want to lounge or do everyday activities. We did both having couples massages, a sunset catamaran cruise, horseback riding in the Caribbean Sea as well as relaxing in our private pool or the lazy river pool. The only downside is having to leave and wait to return. We splurged and had mobay which allowed us to relax in a lounge at the airport while waiting for the transfer to Sandals and also while waiting for our return flight home,we also did the private transfer and our driver Jason not only gave us an informative ride he stopped along the way for us to get some authentic food and drinks.

How do I begin to describe this wonderful resort? I will try, but I don't think I can it justice ! We had a few big milestones this year so we really splurged this time. We have been to SSC quite a few times (even back when it was Whitehouse LOL.) We opted for a private car ride to and from the airport. Martin was great and we made it thru a good rainstorm safe and sound. Upon arriving @ the resort, the sun came out and we were taken to our room.As I mentioned, we decided to splurge and we opted for the Over the Water bungalows . OMG, the room was everything we hoped for and more! Our butlers were Rayon (aka Crayon) and Stephen. They were a great team and no request was too much. Breakfast on the patio, dinner watching the sunset from the patio- I think you get my drift- we were spoiled rotten ! Also, your private cabana just steps from your room is a great touch. The room had a mini kitchen, very nice coffee maker (lattes etc.) etc. The glass floor was so neat at night-watching the various fish (especially the large tarpons) . I will comment storage for clothing seemed a little limited-there was a closet and a few drawers in the closet- no dresser though. I am sure we overpacked but we always do!! The food was excellent as always. Lunch was always a hit. From the pizza @Guissepes to the food trucks, you could not go wrong (nor hungry!) We loved the Jerk Shack and the shrimp tacos @ the Taco truck. We can't forget Schooners for their burgers and the great views at lunch as well. Dinner was also a big hit. FYI, book your reservations to Schooners as soon as you arrive. The food was great (the pepper shrimp yum) and the evening views are not to be missed.Davina @ Schooners was wonderful along with rest of the great staff. All the restaurants were very good and we had no complaints at all! We did also have facials at the spa. Our facials were great and the ladies were very knowledgeable about skin care. I am sorry to say I believe one of ladies was Venencia but my husband has forgotten his ladies name. They both were wonderful and we would do it again. Please forgive the spelling!(Hey to Bent!) We did book again @ the loyalty desk with Odaine for our next trip. Be sure to book an appointment to see him if you are coming back. We found he was very busy and an appointment makes sure you don't have to wait in line(also a few discounts while booking at the resort.) Don't forget to ask for you military discount if it applies- a nice discount! We also had a private car back to the airport and Robert was great. We hated to say good bye to our new friends and our old friends(Hey Joy and Kamar) so soon but we are already looking forward to our next trip. In closing, I hope this is helpful and just know you will have a wonderful time and thanks for reading all this!! Ricky and Robin Lanphere
