We have been to many Sandals resorts, but this is our first time in Jamaica and has to be one of our favourites. The resort itself is set on a beautiful beach with clear waters and a reef a bit further out to sea. The gardens are immaculate throughout and really make this such a beautiful resort. The staff are all very welcoming and ensure that your stay is all that it should be. Our room had a garden view rather than sea view, but we felt it was probably quieter. The room was very clean with plenty of drawers and wardrobe space. Food overall was good, we were disappointed with the pizzas compared to other resorts, where they were thinner and crispier. The ones here were very doughy and undercooked in the middle. Service was also very slow at times. Overall, this is a resort that we definitely plan to return to.

As newlyweds we stayed at Dunn's River Sandals for our Honeymoon. At the time we arrived we were immediately greeted by our butler(s) Eshaan and Dejhanae who took world class care of us for the entire extent of our time at the resort, all the way up through our departure - even escorting us the shuttle at the time of our departure. These ladies are top notch, they assisted us with anything we could have needed and more! The resort is amazing, to say we had a wonderful time is an understatement and the personalized service we received made it even more special and more memorable then any other trip we've ever had to date. We can't wait to go back.

My wife and I went on our Honeymoon at Sandals Dunn’s River in early July 2025. The weather was 90° sunny, breezy, and humid everyday which was perfect for the pool/beach. We stayed 6 nights in the rondoval suites with a butler. The room was stunning and the private swim out pool was so enjoyable that we hardly left our room all week! The staff at the resort including our 2 butlers Dexter and Ricardo were absolutely excellent. Every request we had was fulfilled timely and with a smile. I highly request the Dunn’s River falls catamaran excursion which was a great time, but be sure to bring cash for tips. The food at this resort is excellent and there is plenty of staff all over the property if you ever need anything. The property pools and beaches were pristine as well. I would HIGHLY recommend this resort to anyone!

We were treated exceptionally well, our butlers Richard and Duwaynie were so attentive and professional, looked after both myself and husband perfectly. Food was good, catered for myself being a vegetarian and as I don’t not like the hungry planet substitution meat it wasn’t an issue, alternative vegetarian dishes were cooked for me. Service was spot on, all in all a fantastic holiday. Omar and Marvin were so helpful and knew our names. Marvin helped me with getting some anti histamine medication from the local chemist as I’d forgot to put enough tablets in my luggage so he took me to the chemist to purchase some tablets. All of the resort staff were just so helpful and lovely to talk to and be served by. It is the best Sandals we have stayed at and stayed at a fair few so we have booked our third trip back to this beautiful hotel as I can honestly say this resort is exceptional and we didn’t want to leave.

We have just had the most magnificent week at the Royal Plantation, as we had arrived late in the evening we were greeted by our butler the following morning. Andre and Johovan our butler’s were outstanding, extremely attentive, friendly and very funny. We had breakfast in the terrace restaurant every morning and were greeted and served by Vanya ( who remembered our names) and Andre, both made you feel special. Sequioa and Manesh in the loyalty office were extremely helpful when we booked a family holiday for next year. This hotel is outstanding, smaller and quieter than other Sandals we have been to. Omar the manager who somehow remembers everyone’s name and Marvin run a superb hotel. This is the most friendliest place we have ever been to. A definite one to return to.

Sandals Royal Plantation was pure magic — like, the kind of vacation you daydream about when you're zoning out at work. Boutique luxury vibes, all-inclusive perks, and ocean views from every room? Yes please. Let’s talk about those Butler suites real quick — mine came with not one, but TWO incredible butlers, Neil and Chase. These guys were the dream team. Always a step ahead, always warm and welcoming, and somehow knew exactly when I needed a snack (honestly, that's a talent). 🛎️🍹 Now, yes, this resort is super romantic and perfect for couples, but don’t let that stop you if you're a solo traveler or rolling in with your group. I came with a small group, and we had the best time. Sandals knows how to host everybody, and I never felt out of place. Actually, quite the opposite — it felt like home, just with way better views. perks — we got full access to both Sandals Ochi and Dunn's River too. So yeah, three resorts for the price of one. That’s called value. Now here’s the part where I shout out the all-star staff that made this trip unforgettable: Neil & Chase (Butlers) – Absolute MVPs. 10/10 would vacation with them again. Tanya – The sweetest terrace hostess. Greeted us every day with a smile and made sure we felt like royalty. Romaine – Young but already a pro. Super attentive and just an all-around impressive talent. Mayva – Massage magician. I floated out of that spa like a cloud. Martin (Head Chef) – He made me a whole special vegetarian dinner. I mean... come on. That’s real hospitality. Kelly & Cynthia (Sales) – Friendly, helpful, and just cool people to talk to..they were always one step ahead and so sweet. Entertainment crew – One girl and one guy with BIG energy. Loved their vibe. I’m so sorry I did not catch their names, but they are well known in making the place pop. But now... Omar — the General Manager. Wow. Omar is always present, always engaged, and clearly pours his heart into this place. You could feel his leadership in everything — from the tiniest detail in service to the way every staff member seemed genuinely proud to be part of the team. That kind of culture doesn’t happen by accident. He’s the kind of GM that makes the whole resort run like a smooth, tropical dream. Total legend, and know that he is also a leader in the hospitality industry. In short: best trip ever. Peaceful, beautiful, luxurious — and with a warmth you just don’t find everywhere. Honestly, I’m still trying to figure out how to move in permanently. Thank you, Sandals Royal Plantation. I’ll be back the second I can. 🩷

From the moment we arrived at Sandals Royal Plantation, we knew we had stepped into something truly magical. Nestled into a lush coral bluff and overlooking a serene private cove, this resort offers not just luxury—but soul-soothing tranquility paired with unforgettable service. We were warmly welcomed with a sorrel mimosa, fresh-baked cookies, and even a cell phone to reach our personal butler—a delightful start to what would become the most memorable anniversary trip we’ve ever had. Let me tell you about Carlos, our butler, who was nothing short of phenomenal. Friendly, funny, and incredibly thoughtful, Carlos wasn’t just attentive—he anticipated our every need before we could even ask. From surprising us with treats, to setting up our beach chairs, to making sure we had everything we needed for a romantic and relaxed 26th anniversary, he made us feel not just pampered, but genuinely cared for. Our suite? Pure heaven. Oceanfront views from our private balcony became our daily meditation—coffee in the morning, wine in the evening, the soundtrack of waves playing in the background. It was peaceful, intimate, and perfect. And the food—oh, the food! We had breakfast in our room every morning, always fresh and delicious. But nothing beat dinner at Le Papillon, where we savored every bite of escargot (chef’s kiss!) and the most succulent lollipop lamb chops I’ve ever had. Seafood night at the Royal Grill was perfectly light and flavorful, and my custom Rum Cream twist from the Wobbly Peacock was so divine, I requested it most evening. The beach is a dream—calm, clean, with a constant, gentle breeze. There were always plenty of loungers and towels, and the beach butlers were as attentive as they were friendly—our drinks were always full, and our comfort was their mission. Even the leadership stood out—Omar, the general manager, knew everyone's name and made every guest feel personally welcomed and celebrated. It’s that kind of attention to detail that elevates a vacation into an *experience*. And let’s not forget my CBD and lavender massage—a deeply calming, luxurious treat that left me floating for the rest of the day. We’ve already made the decision: this is where we’ll return every year to celebrate our love. If you’re looking for a place where you can relax, be pampered, eat like royalty, and feel genuinely cared for, Sandals Royal Plantation is not just a destination—it’s a dream.

My 10-day "paradise" trip to Sandals Grenada in June 2025 was a $1,000/day nightmare. For four full days, 40% of my vacation, construction noise from large machinery and yelling crews plagued the resort during peak beach hours. This not only created an unbearable racket but also cut the already small beach in half, leading to severe overcrowding. Despite assurances from Sandals customer service prior to my trip that the resort was in "pristine condition" following earlier storms, their post-complaint response admitted they had "lost a great deal of the beach as well as some of [their] structures" and that the beach was in "dire need of upkeep." This direct contradiction means I was lied to before my trip, preventing me from choosing a different, undisturbed location. When I requested compensation for these four wasted days, Sandals offered a measly two free days that couldn't be combined with other offers—essentially, one day of restitution for four days of disruption. I declined their insufficient offer. Sandals management prioritized their construction needs over guest experience, a stark contrast to the pampered experience they expect their staff to deliver. Their disregard for my concerns and their deceptive pre-trip information has ensured I will never return to a Sandals property. I hope others considering Sandals have a better experience than mine.

We spent our 25th anniversary here after going to this resort for the first time last year and falling in love with the island, resort and people. The service, food, beach and resort were perfect for us. I loved the fact that some of the staff remembered us from last year and welcomed us with open arms. Our butler team of Teddy, Marlon and Shane were top notch and made our week so special, especially our anniversary day. We had Teddy last year and requested him again. The loyalty group (Shanique, Bassey and Dylon) were great to work with to book our future trips (one back here). I recommend Grenada to anyone who wants a fabulous vacation!

I have always had great service at every sandals, but Grenada stands out. Glitches with the Sandals App. would not allow me to make a restaurant reservation. Everyone at club Sandals was so helpful in getting everything including reservation taken care of. Jamol called daily to see if there were anything thing I needed. Reiana at the gift shop and her sister at club Sandals was so nice to surprise my fiancee by singing Happy birthday. Lemoron at the dive center took us out windsurfing and educated us about the island. Captain on the boat tour was also informative. The very talented Ahkim who is part of the entertainment team greeted us everyday. We never had a long wait at the bar and all the bartender was upbeat, especially Kisselle that would always greet us with a smile on her face. The only downside was that they was making improvements on the beach while we were there, but that's understandable and everything else makes up for it.

My husband and I went to Sandals Saint Vincent for our honeymoon. The ride from the airport was not an enjoyable experience. Ken drove extremely fast, constantly hit the brakes, would go in the opposite lane and pass multiple cars multiple times throughout the trip to the resort. I was car sick by the time we got to the resort. He was very knowledgeable though and did tell us a lot of neat facts about the island. The resort itself was absolutely beautiful. Our room was so nice and spacious. We loved the soaking tub on the deck and the view from our deck was amazing from the ocean to the mountains. I will say I was disappointed when we first walked in to our room when we arrived because the bed had not been made. We also filled out a form stating it was our honeymoon and received this email: By celebrating your Honeymoon with Sandals/Beaches Resorts you will receive a special thank you package from us which will include the following: A Bubbly Welcome: A bottle of chilled Sparkling Wine, elegantly arranged in your room to toast your future. A Romantic Gesture: A special turndown service that includes flower petals on your bed on the first evening of your honeymoon. Wake up to Wedded Bliss: Delight in a delivery of a decadent breakfast in bed one morning of your choice. We received none of these things. I told the lady at the front desk and she said that she would make sure we received the rose petals and wine the next day. We received champagne not wine and never had rose petals on our bed. Very disappointing considering you only get one honeymoon and it would have been nice to have a little special treatment considering it was promised to us before hand. We absolutely loved all of the food. We ate at Schrimshaw two nights because the popcorn shrimp was amazing and ended up getting two servings of it the second time. Butch's Chop House was also so good. We had the most amazing waiter named Milan who was so attentive and just a joy to talk to. My husband was obsessed with the bacon bread. We got two baskets of bread. The steak was cooked perfectly. We couldn't decide on dessert so we got all three and they were all delicious. The buffet breakfast at Sora quickly became our favorite because of all the choices! We also loved going to Crema for ice cream everyday! We did a candlelight dinner on the beach for the last night which we were super excited about. Unfortunately it was our least favorite dinner. There are dogs all over the resort and although we are dog lovers and have dogs of our own back home, it is not enjoyable to have dogs running around and begging for food when you are having a romantic dinner. Also the service was not good. We were outside so drinks get watered down fast and hot. We never received fresh drinks or more ice. The food took forever to come out. What was suppose to be an hour an a half dinner turned into over two hours. Also it is a little miss leading when it says private dinner when there were four other couples along the beach just steps from us. We did an excursion to the Dark View Falls! We loved this experience. Our driver Maxwell was wonderful and our tour guide Jason was so knowledgeable and a lot of fun! Seeing the sight where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed was super cool. We got to see a smaller waterfall, some pyroglyphics, and lots of beautiful fruit trees. We walked to the amazing Dark View Falls and were able to walk in it along with taking a plunge in the cold pool. We also go to go to one of the black sand beaches that had a great view of the islands active volcano. My husband got to try some local rum punch too. There were so many pools to choose from around the resort and the water temperature was perfect. We loved getting in the hot tub at night after dinner. We were disappointed with the bars. There were only 3 frozen drinks to choose from. I have been to the Sandals in Jamaica and there were far more choices and better choices might I add. My husband said it was inconsistent too. One drink would be too strong and the next drink would barely have any alcohol. We were also looking forward to sitting and relaxing on the beach but we soon realize that would not be possible. For some reason locals were allowed to come to the far end of the beach next to the water sport activities and bring their children. This did not feel safe to me nor okay considering we paid a lot to be here and they could just come for free. The whole point of going to an adult only resort is to not have to listen to screaming children. We were not the only ones who felt this way. Multiple people left to go to the pool because of the constant screeching from the children. This is definetly a problem that needs to be address because the resort workers did nothing about it. The infinity pool became our favorite because it was peaceful but we could also see the ocean and enjoy the beach view. The only downside was it you didn't have a butler or get up extremely early you would not have chairs to sit in. We got lucky one day when a couple left and were able to have chairs but other than that we just had to set our stuff to the side to enjoy the pool. We loved all the activities but think there could be more especially at night. We loved kayaking, playing pickle ball, playing ping pong, and movie night. We did go to the spa one day for a couples massage. It was a great and relaxing experience getting to listen to the river in the back ground. The pools and other spa amenities were so nice. I also loved that you could use the amenities even if you were not getting a service at the spa. Also none of the shops had change. We did not want to use our cards in a foreign country so we brought cash to spend. We had to go to the lobby to get exact change in order to buy stuff. We did get some pictures taken by the photographers but the prices for photos was absolutely ridiculous. Since it was our honeymoon we did purchase some but for 14 photos it was $200 and that was for digital files not even a printed version with a frame. Overall, we had a wonderful, fun, relaxing, and memorable honeymoon! Saint Vincent is absolutely beautiful and the people were so lovely and kind! As a new resort, we understand they have some kinks that still need to be worked out but we still had the best time!

WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE! My wife Mal and I just completed our week long honeymoon at the Sandals resort and had a an experience one could only dream about. The food, the people, and the views were impeccable. We were constantly being welcomed by the staff and were guided to make the trip the best it could be by various staff members. Whether it was dining staff like Milan, Jahbarrie, Romana, and Shania, or our favorite restaurant - Gatsu Gatsu (special thanks to Jeffrey, chef Angelo, chef Levi, Johzzanie, Necy, Anna, and Zoe for taking such good care of us), we enjoyed great food from all restaurant locations. The only recommendation is that sushi should be able to be enjoyed for lunch, so we highly recommend Sandals St Vincent consider a lunch menu for GG! Excursions were breathtaking and entertainment was endless (Thanks Ernesto!). Pool side and beach side service staff were very responsive and great to get along with (Devante, Kizzy, and Shania). Bartenders at Three Jewels were top notch and made amazing drinks. Other bartenders such as Veshan gave us great memories and warm welcome. Omali was also an awesome presence and a major asset to the staff. He was constantly making sure we were getting the most out of our trip and very friendly and funny, not to mention, pretty great at pool volleyball! We cannot thank the staff enough, because the views and cleanliness of the resort were top notch, and could not have been accomplished without the staff, named and unnamed above. Thank you, all!!

My husband and I had an amazing time at Sandals St. Vincent! We didn't meet a staff member that wasn't kind. The food, the people, the athestics of the resort everything was great! The scenery around this resort is breathtaking. The food was amazing, but our favorite was Gatsu Gatsu. The young lady was very patient and took really good care of us. I wish I could remember her name. Last but not least our Butler team Greg, Keyasha, and T-shika were amazing! They were always checking on us and taking care of the details. Several times throughout the trip other couples bragged to us about our butlers! Kyle also had to fill in one night and he was great as well! In summary this resort is awesome!

My husband and I had a fantastic honeymoon at Sandals St. Vincent. The views and resort were perfect!! We stayed in the Lady Palm swim up pool room and highly recommend. It was so nice to be able to relax in our own pool in addition to all the other pools on the property. We loved ALL of the restaurants as well. We especially loved the service from Ramona and Randy at Sora and Ronica at Scrimshaw. They were so welcoming and warm and made our dining experiences 5 stars! We also loved all of the entertainment on the property, shout out to Ernesto, Omali, and the entertainment team (sorry I don’t know all of their names). We especially loved hanging out at the rum bar late night with the BEST bartenders Delle, Atu, and Luke and Jamila our waitress. We truly looked forward to seeing them every night!!! We also appreciated Glendisha who helped us book amazing excursions that fit our needs. We hope that there is a fishing excursion available when we come back in the future, this was the only thing we wished we could have done. I would highly recommend Sandals St. Vincent to any couple looking for some relaxing, adventurous, and fun time together!

But, most of, the staff at resort are incredible!! Big shoutout to the Playmakers team — Cassius, Mauka, Neville, and Fenella — you made our trip! From beach games to dance parties, you kept the energy up and made everyone feel like part of the fun. You’re all seriously the heart of the resort. I have stayed in many hotel rooms and she had this room cleaned and organized better than anywhere I have ever stayed. Theresa remembered to leave me a couple extra towels each day without having to ask. The room is spotless and the bed made beautifully. A clean picked up room made this vacation very special for me. Many thanks Theresa ….you are the best!

You can’t go wrong being here at Sandals Grande! It has the best beach on the island! We had butler service which was second to none because of Maliaika,Cly and Mel! They were amazing and made us feel like family! The restaurant staff at Bayside, Toscanini & Gordon’s were second to none! EVERYONE makes for feel special! You can’t pass any of their associates without a sincere hello! Even if you don’t have butler service everyone is there to make sure your experience is a special one. The nightly entertainment is different every nite and great! The trip from the airport was a bit long (1 hour and 40min) by van but so well worth it! My only suggestion to the Sandals Corp. is to purchase more comfortable “Sandal”vans with their own Sandal employees drivers . With all the luxury we experienced that would have placed icing on the cake!

We went for our 20th anniversary. We were very impressed. The housekeeping staff were amazing and made sure we had EVRYTHING we needed. There was no lack of food or drinks. Peter at the bar kept our glasses filled. We found plenty to do while we were there. Whether is was an outside excursion or just playing at the Resort. We took a little trip on the Hobie Cat, with Richardson. He was amazing. He took the time to educate on the island. Such a wonderful young man. The staff up at the Sandals Club room were our go-to when we had silly questions, or maybe needed suggestions. It was nice knowing we could pop in there anytime we needed. This was a great first time experience. Thank you for not disappointing.

So since corp has turned a blind eye to our complaint and our begging for some sort of compensation for their incredibly mishandling and miscommunication of our stay back in June I am taking to this page: My wife and I scrimped and saved for four years to have the trip of a lifetime at sandals Negril …swim out suite with a butler That’s where the dream went sideways and continues to leave a sour expensive taste in our mouths… I wrote sandals a letter weeks ago and keep getting told they are looking into it but that they gave us a free massage and that should cover it: I am writing to express deep frustration, profound disappointment, and emotional distress following what should have been a long-awaited and joyous vacation at Sandals Negril from June 10–18, 2025. For over a decade, my wife and I dreamed of experiencing the magic of a Sandals vacation. As hardworking individuals, we long aspired to a stay at one of your resorts, believing your brand stood for luxury, quality, and care. After surviving a traumatic car accident last year—where a reckless driver nearly ended our lives—we resolved to mark my wife’s 50th birthday and our emotional recovery by finally realizing this dream. We spent over $(redacted) USD—our savings—to make this experience as special and healing as possible. What we received in return was not just disappointing; it was deeply hurtful and, in many ways, humiliating. ________________________________ From Dream to Disappointment After arriving in Jamaica and being warmly greeted by our Club Mobay and Island Routes transfer driver, we were initially optimistic. However, the condition of our butler swim-out suite quickly revealed an alarming level of neglect:  *   Severe mold and water damage from a leaking air conditioner  *   Bubbling and crumbling walls, visible mildew, and potential health hazards  *   Broken furniture and cabinetry, a non-functional bathroom door, and a damaged exhaust fan  *   Constant noise from a squeaky door used by butlers just outside our room This was not a minor maintenance issue—it was a blatant disregard for health and safety, and a complete failure of your quality assurance standards. We reported the problem and were offered a new room—one that had the exact same water damage, and was located next to a smoking area (despite known allergies). When we declined, the solution offered was to paint over the mold and suggest everything was “fine.” ________________________________ A Pattern of Neglect and Disrespect From that point forward, the experience spiraled:  *   Our concerns were met with empty reassurances and repeated missteps.  *   Our second room, which we were forcibly moved into without consent or apology, was also substandard:     *   Peeling wallpaper, broken light switches, an unsafe shower fixture, and malfunctioning ceiling fans     *   Fan remotes that controlled other guests' rooms and vice versa—according to your own maintenance staff  *   We were told by our travel agent that we were originally promised a two-level butler suite—a promise clearly broken without explanation All the while, management appeared repeatedly—not to resolve the situation, but to offer insincere apologies, a fruit plate, and a bottle of champagne we could not enjoy. This vacation became a series of interruptions, stress, and embarrassment, with little time left to relax or reconnect. Even when we asked not to be disturbed further, our privacy was invaded yet again—during a personal moment on our patio. The resort staff continued showing up uninvited with notes and vague offers of “making things right,” which by that point only deepened our disappointment. ________________________________ This Was Not Just a Bad Stay—It Was a Personal Loss We are not demanding guests. We are respectful, quiet people who rarely complain. But this trip was supposed to be about healing, recovery, and joy. Instead, we spent much of it avoiding our room, managing problems, and feeling unheard. To say this experience was heartbreaking is not an exaggeration. It has left us with a bitter memory where a beautiful one should have been. We entrusted you with something deeply important to us, and you failed—repeatedly and without meaningful accountability.

This is our first time at this resort and we couldn’t be happier. We are staying in one of the swim up rooms. It was very clean, newly renovated and beautifully appointed. We rented the cabana at the beach today and it came with a very attentive butler named Tinisha. She was very friendly and helped us get comfortable because the bed was a little hard, brought food and drinks at just the right time, Made us aware of the amenities, shows, etc on the property which was very helpful. Everyone on the property has been kind and helpful. Riley at the welcoming center was a star as well. He helped us get checked in with no hiccups getting into the room. And we really enjoyed the welcome song they sang for us when we first got on the property. That was extra special.

Tevar and Kevin "Popa and Grandpa Smirf" were brilliant and could not have asked for better service from the both of them. This is my first Sandals to vacation at and it will not be my last!! My stay was in a Rondoval with Butler service and now I'm so spoiled I won't go without one!! Everyone here is friendly and always has a genuine smile for you. This place has set the bar high for my next vacation! The Butler service is amazing!! We had Shaniece and Jamoy..they went above and beyond to make sure we had what we asked for and for me..( ice tea)..in my room fridge. That is just an example of they're hard work!! My next visit ,I will certainly request them again!!! As for any complaints, I have 1. While on the beach,on the last day, I was smoking a cigarette and was approached by the "Guest relations manager" and was told no smoking allowed on the beach..I immediately put it out and I responded by saying that there is no sign stating no smoking..and I want to add..people on both sides of where we were , were smoking as well but nothing was said to them. His approach was cold and brush asking quick questions as if we didn't belong there. I felt as though I needed to leave the beach as soon as possible but I didn't! If no smoking is wanted then a sign(s) should be put up and his approach needs an overhauled!! All together...5/5 stars!!

We are on our final couple of days at this hotel. We have had the best holiday, in a long time! Going to start with the bad - mosquitoes (that’s it). The rainy season has started, so have the mosquitos! TOP TIP - The hotel can spray your room at night. We had plug in and spray repellent, it didn’t help! But don’t let it put you off coming! Rooms - we are in Block 6, next to the lazy river, stunning, just stunning. The room is a great size and peaceful. Restaurants - our favourite was bayside, then Mario’s. We really enjoyed Kelly’s and kimonos. The chefs in kimonos put on an excellent show, the food is incredible! The food in all the restaurants is excellent! The pizza truck serves the best pizza we have ever had. The beach bar is great for lunch, spectacular views of the sea and Rat Island. Pools - we preferred the paradise pool, much quieter. The staff cannot do enough for you, always walking round taking drinks orders and delivering to your sun lounger. Beach - beautiful, enough said! Always plenty of sun loungers, but the hotel is at approx 70% occupancy Trips - we booked through the Sandals desk, doing the mud bath and waterfall. Absolutely brilliant. Our driver was lovely, giving us lots of information about the Island. We had lunch at a mountain restaurant overlooking the Pitons. Stunning, memories were certainly made! Highly recommend this trip We also visited Pointe Seraphine, again through Sandals and local taxi, it cost us $40 return. We have tentatively booked the helicopter back to the airport, waiting on confirmation. Fingers crossed!

My husband and I chose Sandals Halcyon to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. We had never done a Sandals or any kind of All-Inclusive. We were to stay 11 days. The property is beautiful and just the size that we wanted. We didn't want too much of a party atmosphere but wanted to pick and chose activities. On our third day there my husband developed an intestinal bug and bad cough. From then on we made visits to the Medical Clinic on property and even ended up with him having to have an IV for dehydration. Their care was extraordinary. The managers from each shift checked on him daily and made every effort to provide whatever he needed in way of specially prepared chicken soup and bland food that he could keep down. EVERYONE went out of their way to make sure we had whatever he needed. We were so impressed at the CARE so many of the employees showed us. I mention a few names of people who were so helpful so they will receive the recognition they deserve. Many thanks to: Winfred, Patrick, Captain Neil, Chef Sengh, Berthalina and Clint. We are so grateful for your help and attention. We highly recommend Sandals Halcyon as a beautiful and wonderful place to experience. Go there, you'll LOVE it1

Overall the resort is very nice. There were a couple of things that took away from the experience. First was an overabundance of gnats. They were all over the property all the time. The second was the areas around all of the pools are very slippery. They use tile which becomes very slippery when wet. We observe the lady fall that wasn't even at the pool but close to them.

We spent a week at Sandals Royal Curaçao in late June and overall had a lovely, relaxing experience. The resort itself is stunning and beautifully designed with a fresh, modern feel that sets it apart from other all-inclusives we’ve visited. The landscaping is gorgeous and the property feels fresh and new and is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, with plenty of shaded seating throughout. During our stay in late June, we never felt overcrowded or like we were fighting for a lounge chair at the pool, and definitely not at the beach, which was generally quieter. One of the biggest highlights that set our trip apart was the staff, many of whom were not only incredibly welcoming and warm but also extremely talented and dedicated to creating a great guest experience. We especially wanted to write this review to shout out Chris, our snorkel guide, who was patient, knowledgeable, and a joy to explore the reef with. The entertainment team was a standout — Brittany wowed us with her vocals and her awesome energy and humor, and Jefferson impressed us with his choreography and dancing. Dylan and Marcelo also brought enthusiasm and a great vibe to every event. The food met our expectations and was on par with what we expected from Sandals based on our previous Sandals stay at the Grande St. Lucian. Our favorites here in Curaçao were the fish tacos and swordfish at Strand. Aolos became our go-to for breakfast, thanks to both the quality of the food and the variety of menu options, not to mention the incredible view from their shaded open air dining area. The spa was another notable highlight; the service was thoughtful and relaxing, and the space itself was a calming escape. The main pool area was always bustling, and the snorkeling was fantastic (when weather permitted) with great visibility. On a day when our snorkel excursion was canceled due to rough water, the staff graciously offered a boat trip around the Santa Barbara inlet residential area instead, which we really appreciated and enjoyed a lot more than we expected to. Our Subi club-level garden view walkout room was modern, clean, and comfortable, with a layout and aesthetic that felt extremely current compared to other all-inclusives we’ve stayed at before where rooms felt outdated and lacking in aesthetic charm. This resort is still very new as of 2025, having only been open a few years, and you can tell. That said, the experience wasn’t without a few minor inconveniences and frustrations. The service at some of the restaurants was very slow and inattentive. We also found that the operating hours for some of the restaurants were a bit limiting in terms of scheduling our meals and activities for the day each day. By far and away, though, the biggest disappointment was our interaction with the Island Routes excursion desk, so not strictly Sandals' fault, but worth noting if you're planning on going on an excursion since they're the official partner. A last-minute cancellation of one of our planned excursions (the caves & sea turtles excursion) announced unceremoniously via a paper slipped under our door only a few hours after a paper slipped under our door confirming all of the exciting details of the trip we thought we were going on. This threw a major wrench into our itinerary, and the staff handling it were unhelpful, dismissive, and totally unapologetic and unsympathetic. It left us feeling unsupported and frustrated, especially since excursions are our favorite part of any all-inclusive resort experience and this particular excursion was what we felt was going to be the highlight of our whole trip to Curaçao. Because this was a relatively short vacation for us (we stayed 4 nights, with the excursion scheduled for our last full day, with cancellation announced the night before), the last-minute cancellation left us unable to plan an alternate excursion, in spite of the excursion desk’s unhelpful suggestion that we just go later in the week. We had no other way to travel outside of the resort and explore the island and couldn’t book an alternate experience on such short notice, so the sudden cancellation was kind of heartbreaking, especially because it was not due to weather or anything beyond their control but simply because only ourselves and one other couple had signed up, so they felt that it wasn't really worth it for them to take us. I'm sure this was in the fine print that we agreed to many weeks earlier when booking and paying for the Island Routes trip, but it didn't make it sting less knowing they literally did not care at all about us as customers or how it impacted our vacation, and that we were not worth the time and mileage. I understand it, but it was still super disappointing and unexpectedly changed our entire itinerary. The beach situation was also a slight letdown. While the views are undeniably gorgeous, the only designated swimming area is off to the side within a narrow channel with a view that was unexpectedly blighted by a massive industrial oil rig. Not a big deal, and, again, obviously not Sandals’ fault lol; I’m sure they were peeved about it too. One major perk to the beach, though: it was actually an underratedly great spot for snorkeling with the snorkel we bought from the SCUBA / water sports shop! We saw barracuda, the biggest hermit crab probably of all time, and tons of reef fish. The snorkeling trip a short boat ride away with Sandals ended up just being the two of us and was a ton of fun; 100% worth it. We saw SO much! Shoutout again to Chris for helping us spot and identify different species of fish! One last logistical hiccup worth noting: the shuttle to Willemstad doesn’t run on Sundays, which impacted our plans and would’ve been helpful to know ahead of time, simply because this is the only day that we would have been able to go. So we went 0 for 2 on excursions overall. Bummer! Anyway, despite those challenges (which I’m really only mentioning in case they’re helpful to any other travelers’ planning process), we truly enjoyed our stay, largely thanks to the resort’s beauty, cleanliness, and the many staff who went above and beyond. We left feeling more relaxed and with a deeper appreciation for the culture of Curaçao, which we loved learning about throughout the week. If you go in with patience, flexibility, and the right expectations (all crucial virtues for ANY vacation, really), Sandals Royal Curaçao offers a tranquil, scenic, and memorable escape with beautiful scenery and wildlife, seamless airport transfers, thoughtful design and landscaping, and a clean, modern, and luxurious vibe.

I really wanted to give this resort a perfect 5 as it was for our honeymoon. For starters, the customer service you book with from sandals tells you one thing and the resort another. For example, every time I called prior to our trip, sandals booking would say that the resort would upgrade you complimentary if they have the space if you’re celebrating something. I told the resort this and the lady from club sandals looked at me like I was stupid and said she never heard of that. Our first room smelled like mold in which they said was paint. My husband is a contractor for 15+ years and we definitely know the difference. We had to speak to the manager to get us somewhere to sleep for the first night as we weren’t sleeping in mold. The manager was extremely accommodating! The next morning they told us to come by around 9am that reservations would be in for us to be re-accommodated. 9am went to 11am when we showed up basically losing one full day not accommodated. They also at first charged me for the “upgrade” in which they did reimburse which I appreciate but don’t understand why they even had me pay. We ended up getting a nice swim-up room. Sadly, I would never expect this at sandals but we saw three cockroaches in our room. The last one was literally in our toilet seat. As we already had a room debacle, I didn’t even bother to complain and just dealt with it. Despite the room issues, the food at this resort was very good. The people are extremely nice except for the one lady at club sandals that had a bit of an attitude. Lastly, the pools and even the beach are beautiful. The only thing that sucks is that it’s far from the town area and would cost $150 one way for a cab. Additionally, night life is minimal here. To conclude, I expect more for a sandals and never thought I would have these issues with our room. It was also our honeymoon and so just really unfortunate. Hopefully, they will get better in fixing these rooms. Apologize in advance for the gross photo of the roach.

1st time here and far exceeded our expectations. ONE huge issue. Can the servers stop asking to take our dinner order moments after we sit down??? At the Italian restaurant (great food) we were asked to order before our drink order was taken. We explained we wanted to enjoy a glass of wine and conversation b4 we ordered our dinners. 2 minutes later a different person asked us to order. We again explained we wanted to enjoy our drinks and to give us ten minutes. There were plenty of empty tables and reservations not accepted. Two minutes later a third server asked to take our order. Finally frustrated we ordered. The same experience the night before at the Asian restaurant 3 times in 5 minutes. Our server asked if we were ready to order when we said. Give us a few minutes. She walked away annoyed finally. on the fourth time she came over.when we were seated less than 10 minutes, we felt pressured to order which we did. We have 3 more nights here. I am hoping to that servers realize not everyone wants to order moments after they sit down. It may not sound like a big deal, but it is to us. We weren't asking to wait a half hour or s moreb efore we ordered just asking the servers to give us fifteen minutes or so. That little bit of time. We'll go a huge way and making our dining experience far more enjoyable, other than that. Do not hesitate to come here..

We’ve been fortunate to visit many Sandals and Beaches resorts over the years, but Sandals Royal Curaçao truly blew us away. From start to finish, this was easily one of the most phenomenal trips we’ve had – and that’s saying something! The staff made our experience unforgettable. At Aolos, Orienta, although not our assigned waitress, went out of her way to take beautiful photos of us. Her warm and welcoming nature set the tone for the entire evening. Sherman, our actual waiter, matched that energy with friendly, fun, and speedy service. At the beach bar, we were lucky to be taken care of by Adrian, Christopher, and Marifiantily. Despite the fast-paced environment, they never missed a beat and made sure our first night started off with great vibes, top-tier drinks, and warm smiles. The lobby bar was another highlight thanks to Alana, Jason, Sharientlly, and Gregorie. Gregorie was an intern during our stay but truly felt like a seasoned pro. He was one of the highlights of our trip – so fun, interactive, and full of personality. We genuinely looked forward to chatting with him each night after dinner. The whole lobby bar crew made our evenings feel fun, relaxed, and full of laughter. Sharilene, the incredible chef at the Bao Bun food truck, was a standout. By our second visit, she not only knew our order by heart but greeted my husband by name every time she saw him around the resort. That personal touch meant so much and really speaks to the level of care the staff puts into every guest interaction. Aranaldo, our waiter at Butch’s (twice!), was not only attentive but absolutely hilarious. No matter how busy he was, he made time to stop by our table, chat, and share his signature dad jokes. His energy made both dinners extra memorable. We’d also love to give a big shoutout to Dennilee and Dillon – true stars of the entertainment team. From morning to night, they kept the energy high and the crowd engaged. The entire entertainment crew at this resort is top of the line – fun, dynamic, and genuinely interactive on and off the stage. What really set Sandals Royal Curaçao apart was the consistency – across food, drinks, entertainment, and above all, the kindness of the staff. We felt cared for every step of the way. This resort has quickly become our favorite Sandals destination, and we’re already dreaming of coming back. Thank you to everyone who made our trip so special!

We traveled to Sandals Royal Caribbean for what was supposed to be a stress free wedding experience. Both of us had been previously married and wanted to skip the hassle of a big wedding with guests. We were really sold on the elopement package for just the two of us. The planning process started good. We worked with a wedding planner at what I guess you would call the corporate level. We had very little we wanted to actually descide. We just wanted it to be simple. We didnt even want to pick music just simple basic stuff. They seemed very accommodating about our wishes. The problems started when we got to the resort. We were scheduled to meet our wedding planner in the lobby. We let the front desk know we were there and they said the planner would come find us. My fiancée at the time was wearing a big sash and tiara that said BRIDE (because she was excited). She was over half an hour late and only came to find us after we went to the Concierge's office and they called her. She claimed she had checked the lobby and didnt find us. No apology just very much a not my problem attitude. We then had to replan our wedding. Apparently nothing you work out with the corporate planner means anything. We had to pick music the night before the wedding because they could not accommodate our original request. Not only did we have to pick the music but supply them with one our cell phones unlocked with the music downloaded to it so they could play it over Bluetooth. There was rain in the forecast (absolutely not Sandals fault). We did ask however about an indoor backup location incase our outdoor wedding got stormed out. They said we dont have any indoor locations it NEVER rains for long. So it stormed the entire day, the day of our wedding. Not their fault but a indoor back up location wasnt much to ask. We delayed an hour and were told we had to just go for it. The gazebo we had reserved for the wedding wasnt even set up for the ceremony, just had furniture jamed into it. They were only able to accommodate one of the songs they made us pick as another device somewhere in the resort connected to the Bluetooth speaker and they couldnt figure it out. The souvenir copy of our wedding license blew out sea as the wedding planned just left it sitting on a table. The next day we were supposed to have breakfast in bed but it never showed up as the wedding planner never notified room service. We were supposed to have a couples massage but we were notified 20 min before we were to leave the room to head to the spa that they were beginning contruction on that part of the resort and it would have to be rescheduled. We had originally not intended to do any excursions however my parents had once visited Jamaica and had taken a picture on a waterfall. They wanted us to recreate it. We had looked it up and it was like a 3hr drive away so we were not going to do it. It had come up in conversation with the wedding planner that it would be nice but we had no interest in spending 3 hrs driving to the falls. They sold us on a catamaran cruise that went to the falls. She made it sound like a relaxing trip with hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Well it ended up being a 3.5 hour drive in a cramped shuttle bus (we literally drove past the falls) to another sandals resort. Boarded what ended up being a party boat that stopped along the way for other passengers to snorkel, at the being of the boat ride we were told no drinks till the ride back. The Hors d'oruvers was the finnest selection off the kids menu at Denny's. Obviously since the wedding had gotten rained out we had to postpone our pictures. Had to help my wife back into her dress and I back into my dress uniform. We went to meet the photographer who ended up being late which made us nice and hot, sweaty and irritable. The icing on the cake was after waiting 8 weeks for our marriage license. They got my age wrong by 10 years. You receive in the mail from Sandals ( who you have to send coppies of drivers license and birth certificate to, who you have to fill out applications with your date of birth on), that says verify the information is correct and if not write a letter explaing the problem and mail it back. Apparently you are the quality control because they dont take the time to double check. Dont do it. Dont trust them with your wedding.

My husband and I went to Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort for our "30th" Wedding anniversary. We stayed in the honeymoon suite with Butler service. We had the pleasure of staying there for 7 days. First, let me say that Sandals resort did not disappoint. The resort was clean and well maintained. The ENTIRE staff their was extremely pleasant. The Butler service, well it was amazing. "Kevoy" and "Francious" were our Butlers. They were both so attentive and made us feel like we were family. On the day of our anniversary Kevoy brought me a rose to the beach, which all the guest that were around us admired. Kevoy surprised us by bringing coconut shrimp and fried chicken to the beach as a snack. Upon returning to our room we found it decorated with rose petals from the door to the Jacuzzi tub where a bottle of chilled champagne and a hot bath with special bath salts were waiting. We had ice cream sundae's waiting for us as well. Our room was decorated with Happy Anniversary banners on our bed with a heart made of rose petals. To say that we were pleased with our time at Sandals resort would be an understatement. Each and every day Kevoy/Francious made sure that we had whatever we wanted. Kevoy even introduced us to a drink called "Sky Juice", which my husband and I loved. We enjoyed it so much that when we got back home, I went out and bought a blender and the ingredients to make one. Kevoy was very personable and friendly and made us feel like we were his only guests. There were two restaurants the were hard to get reservations at. But, Francious worked his magic and was able to get us reservations at these restaurants. I must say that the food was absolutely delicious and did not disappoint. One day while we were on the beach, Francious brought us some drinks. My husband was out in the lagoon and he challenge Francious to to bring him his drink while he was in the lagoon, Francious just laughed. But, the next time Francious brought us drinks he had his pant legs rolled up and was ready to take my husband's drink to him while he was in the lagoon but, my husband beat him to the shore. Francious definitely deserves "BIG KUDOS" for that. We were sad when our time on the resort was over, but Kevoy was there to give us his send off with warmth and compassion. These 2 men are the epitome of grace, compassion and professionalism. In fact the next time we go to the Royal Caribbean resort, we want Kevoy and Francious as our butlers. They are an amazing team. If your ever at the Royal Caribbean Resort in Jamacia and you want to be pampered, ask for these two gentleman. You won't be disappointed. Thanks Kevoy and Francious for making our anniversary an memorable one. Mike/Bette

My husband and I stayed at Sandals Montego Bay from June 7–14, 2025, for a much-needed escape—and WOW, it was everything we hoped for and more! I always say a great vacation is shaped not just by the destination, but by the people you share it with and how you're treated throughout the week. Sandals Montego Bay nailed it on both counts. We met so many fun, warm-hearted couples—some of whom we’ll definitely stay in touch with—and the incredible staff truly made us feel at home from day one. There are a few standout team members we just have to mention: 💖 Paulene – Room 411 would not have been the same without her! She greeted us every day with a big smile and a warm hug. Her kindness and attention to detail made our stay feel personal and extra special. Sandals is so lucky to have her! 🎉 Davia – This girl is everywhere—in the best way! From hosting activities (loved the horse racing!) to getting guests involved in poolside games, volleyball, and even evening dancing, her energy and enthusiasm were contagious. Her work ethic and spirit made the resort come alive. 🌟 Akeen (aka Michael Jackson) – Always smiling, always welcoming. His upbeat energy brought so much joy to our days. 😂 Crazy Chris – He made sure I always knew where to find everything and had a way of making us laugh constantly. Thank you for the warm and genuine hospitality! 🌊 Kevin at the Dive Shop – One of our absolute favorites! It was always a treat when he was part of our water excursions. Friendly, professional, and so fun to be around. 🍹 Nassen at Latitudes Bar – We hit it off from the very beginning! I told him what I liked and didn’t like, and boom—he crafted the perfect “special drink” just for me. Every time I walked in, he had it ready and waiting with a smile. He truly had that special touch, and I always checked to make sure he was working. Thank you, Nassen—you’re amazing! And to the many others whose names we didn’t catch—thank you for going above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable. We left with full hearts and lasting memories, and who knows—we may just have to come back and say hello again someday soon! Thank you, Sandals Montego Bay! — Tammy & Terry from Colorado

My husband and I had the absolute best time. We have been to a few different sandals locations and this is our new favorite! The hotel is small but the beach is absolutely amazing. The water is so still, we stayed in for hours. Dwight and Ellis were our butlers and they were fantastic. Our room was huge, they refilled our coolers with drinks on the beach throughout the day. They also delivered us lunch every day to our lunch chairs on the beach. Ellis got us the temperpedic pillows we requested. We came back to our room and there was always wine and cheese waiting for us. On a few days there was a bubble bath waiting for us as well. We took a 7 minute van ride to Sandals Montego Bay to have dinner at butches steak house. It was so easy and the shuttle runs every hour.

This was a trip for our honeymoon!! I am so happy we stayed at Mobay!! It had very lowkey vibes, but there were moments that felt like a party which was perfect. My husband and I are not the constant party type of people, but we do enjoy one every now and then. We booked a butler suite and our butlers Marvin and Steven were phenomenal!! We would come off the beach to a nice soaking tub with flowers and towel animals that I didn’t want to mess up. The beach was absolutely wonderful, and the staff are amazing at making sure you are good on drinks or if they could get you another. There were several times drinks would just be brought around for anyone who felt inclined to try a new drink. I will say the staff and sandals in general were absolutely phenomenal, however, we booked two excursions that would take us outside of the resort. First, we did Chukkas which offers a variety of things to do: ziplining, river tubing, bamboo rafting, etc. The ziplining was great, the staff were funny, and I would absolutely do it again, the river tubing was just okay. It wasn’t a long trip, you get a few rafting moments, but it is very much short lived and you can definitely get attacked by mosquitoes (so wear bug spray). The second excursion was the reggae catamaran with snorkeling. At first it was great!! We then made a stop to pick up 60+ people from another resort that was unexpected. More than half of these people did not participate in snorkeling (which is fine, but a waste of money imo) and once the included lunch was mentioned, these people took it upon themselves to indulge in the food and not leaving enough for the rest of the boat (I’m talking 5 chicken fingers per one singular plate) you would have thought it was a buffet. We stop at margaritaville next and it is party central (if that’s what you are looking for then great, we just weren’t.) (I’m also a big parrot head, and jimmy buffet was not played one singular time while we were there; it was solely party music, again if that’s your jam then great! Not for us). For the money we paid to go snorkeling on a catamaran it was not worth it imo. Sandals offers a snorkeling boat (for free) where you go with maybe 10-12 people for about 30 min to another coral reef and you can see more than what we did. I would highly recommend that. Now, my favorite part of this trip was the main bar area. There were several events that took place here, but we stayed for the bartenders. My husband and I made really good with two of the bartenders, Marlon and Rayon who were absolutely phenomenal. They made their special drinks and they shared the culture of Jamaica from the perspective. It was an amazing experience to learn from them and what their life has been like. They never left our glasses empty and they were truly the best part of our entire trip. We hung out with them for last 4 nights of our trip and I wish we would have found them sooner. They know how to make a good time and keep the good vibes going. Aside from the excursions, mobay was absolutely phenomenal and I never wanted to leave. It was an experience like no other and I can’t wait to go back. I was 100% living my best life and I am already counting down the days until we come back!!

I had one of the worst experiences and this was my first time at sandals.; traveling alone for my birthday and a wedding. 5 days/ 4 nights. End of June 2025. My room 3401 in the riviera premium rooms didn't have water pressure for a shower. I called to the office when I first arrived when I noticed there was a leak in the tub faucet , there was hair in the tub, & shower head was dirty as well. The second time the water pressure was nonexistent for 2 days and asked for some assistance. The third time I was attending a wedding at the resort; only having an hour to get dressed this time No water came out of the shower head. I called the front desk to complain and get some help. Michelangelo "manager" came by my room and once he arrived the water started working. I asked why wasn't I moved with all the problems. This resort is the oldest sandals in Jamaica but this doesn't excuse the lack of running water for hotel guests. I was told that I would receive a letter my email for compensation due to my experience. This was a lie! Don't believe anyone at this resort & I wouldn't go there unless you don't wash your body.

I had twisted my ankle the night before and she even did a special treatment on my ankle to help with the swelling. I highly recommend her for any spa treatment you are seeking.

Somehow I lost my old Trip Advisor Account and am now starting over. This will be a longer review and as detailed as I can remember. We are currently spending our next to last day on property, having booked a 9 day vacation. The airport was clean, air conditioned and efficient when we arrived. Out the door, across the street and to the right is the Sandals desk. A couple minutes after checking in at the outside desk, you're on your way to the resort. We are staying in the Caribbean Beachfront Butler Rondoval, in Room 304. They say in Real Estate, "location location", well it's located steps away from the sand, with awesome views of the ocean. It's an older room, but the air conditioner worked great, the bed was super comfortable and it was centrally located to everything on the property. Highly recommend! The room is near a walkway, which some complain about, but we enjoyed seeing other guests, and more importantly, the wonderful Sandals Staff, who always seem to greet you with a smile, and usually have a moment to chat. Speaking of some of the Playmakers..... The GM of the Property, David Latchimy, is 3 things...professional, visible, and just a heck of a nice man, who my Wife and I were most fortunate to be able to speak with several times during our stay. He was open and honest, in regards to our pros and cons about the stay, and shared upcoming renovation plans with us. It was a pleasure to receive our Diamond Staus with him at the Returning Guest Dinner. Another Manager, Nico, was also very visible and just a super cool guy. I had an outstanding conversation with him, and some of the other Managers at the Diamond Luncheon while on Property, which was a nice way to meet other travelers, and also speak to the Leadership team in an extremely relaxed setting We had Butler Service, and had the team of Daren, Shawn, and Dionne. Wonderful service and we will request this team again, when we return in 2027. My Wife and I also were able to meet, and speak with Astrid, the Butler Manager. Joy at the Caribbean Swim Up Bar is a "Superstar", and an awesome human being! If you only stay at the larger Mediterranean Pool, and don't venture out to see her...well it's your loss. The following individuals stood out and helped make our stay memorable: Terry-Ann at the Bayside (super friendly and helpful), Claudine, the Manager at the Drunken Duck (treated us as family), Mickel, a Server at the Drunken Duck (friendly and attentive), Cathy at Eleanors (will miss our morning chatscand her warm smile), Ashell from Kimonos/Soy Bar (another star of the property), Keisha who works at the Red Lane Spa, Markiela, who attended to our room, and last but not least, Sandy and Shellon, who helped us book future trips to Grenada and back to this gem of a property in the next 2 years. Also, again, our Butler Team of Daren, Shawn and Dionne were fantastic. The property is immaculate and the beach is just beautiful. Raked everyday, clean, and the water is clear and free of seaweed. No need for water shoes here!Plenty of chairs, with umbrellas, but beware, there might be a crazy guest here and there, who will try and commendeer multi loungers/umbrellas, and who will show up to use sparingly. Security Guards are contracted out, and not Sandals employees. My Wife and I observed several "resting their eyes" during our stay, which I brought up to Management. Having said that, we felt completely safe on the beach and property. You will get the occasional vendor walking through the beach selling their products and they are almost 100 percent not a bother. A couple of them did become a little pushy, trying to have us give them beers from our cooler. The grounds are clean and the trees, plants, flowers, and shrubs are extremely well maintained. The employees that tend to this area are happy to educate you on the types of foliage if you ask. There are cats here, and if you don't like cats, they won't bother you. But, if you do, they'll make contact with you, while out and about and in the vicinity of your room. Allegedly they like milk, chicken and steak and love being petted. They appear to be healthy and well cared for. The restaurants we ate at were: Bayside, Kimonos, Eleanors, Soy, and Mario's. We also ate at the Returning Guest Dinner and the Diamond lunch. Our favorites were the Bayside for Dinner and Eleanors for Breakfast. We have been to Beaches Negril, Sandals Southcoast, and Montego Bay prior, but Sandals Antigua is, in our opinion, hands down the best. The service and politeness of the staff, the property and ocean and the way the small details and attention to detail are carried out is the reason why. Don't believe some of the negative reviews, as if you really have issues with this resort, just stay home and don't travel, because yes there are some extremely minor issues, but they are not even worth mentioning. Generally if you're polite and positive, you'll receive the same back in kind. Enjoy your stay here at this phenomenal property. We will be back soon.

3rd Sandals experience. After reading all of the positive reviews, we were absolutely excited about Sandals Grand Antigua. Pretty long wait to be shown to our room. Not the normal happy, efficient welcome we have received at other Sandals. We stayed on the Mediterranean side, club level, oceanview. Room was nice and the view was beautiful. Other than the vendors, the beach was beautiful. The most disappointing part of this Sandals experience was absolutely the staff. Almost all, restaurants and bars in particular, acted as if you were bothering them by ordering a drink or even being there. Was absolutely different from the Bahamas and Dunn's River. We were looking at booking St Lucia next year, but have decided to look at other options. Very disappointing trip. Also, if you don't like mangy cats wandering past you constantly, look for a different Sandals.

This was our first Sandals experience. We really enjoyed the all inclusive no kids atmosphere. It was so relaxing and chill. The breakfast buffet was really tasty with a lot of choices; probably the best french toast I've ever had. The dinners at the restaurants were pretty good. Ehat they called Southwestern and TexMex was neither but still good. We found out that we were pool people on this vacation. We went during the off-season so there was room at the very large pool even though we didn't get there till around 10am. There was pizza and hotdogs during the day for lunch. You could walk over, get a snack and go back to your pool lounger to eat it. During the week we were there, we did a couple excursions thru TripAdvisor. This was the one thing I didn't like about the resort offerings. The excursions were essentially the same as on TripAdvisor but they were 30% more expensive. The room was clean and the daily room services were very nice. I would absolutely take a Sandals vacation again.

I had the dreamiest vacation at Sandals, the resort is beautiful and peaceful. The view from my room was gorgeous with the beach just a few steps away. Waking up to that view every morning was a gift. Every single staff member I interacted with was friendly and went out of their way to make the experience special . But I have to give some special shoutouts to a few stars who truly made my stay unforgettable Chef Crispin at Soy: wow! His recommendations were spot on, and everything he prepared was delicious. Stella at the spa: professional, and with hands of gold. Bobby from the Nature Walk: such a joy to learn from! His passion and knowledge about the local environment were inspiring. Jenelle at the bar: always had a smile. Oliver at the bar: mojito master! Seriously, the best mojitos I’ve ever had. Delroy at reception and the Sandals Select team: my official rum ball dealers! You all are fantastic. And let’s not forget the unofficial “pest control” team : the super friendly cats that kept me company during my early morning runs. They were friendly and just another reason why this place is so special. Sandals, thank you for the beautiful memories. Can’t wait to come back!

We stayed at the Sandals Barbados June 26th to July 3rd. We had a great time. The resort is right next to the Sandals Royal Barbados. This means that you have access to the facilities at both resorts. It’s a nice bonus. More options is a good thing to have. We stayed in a Beachfront Honeymoon Club Level Suite. It was nice. The view overlooked one of the pools and the beach. We would choose the same room again. One of the main reasons for us choosing Sandals resorts is that the scuba diving is included. So, they have beautifully maintained grounds, great beach, multiple pools, great selection of restaurants, multiple bars, great premium level cocktails, and great activities (both daytime and in the evenings). Oh, and the Sandals staff are nice people. Pretty much perfect. I highly recommend spending some time at the rooftop pool. It has a great view of the beach and the resort. We dove every day that we could, six out of our seven days. We really enjoyed the diving. The dive team, starting with my favorite, Melissa, were so nice and represented Sandals perfectly. Shout out to Jalissa too! Thanks to the boat Captains, Phillip and Paterson, dive Masters Seth, Robert, Mike, and Torrie. They all made our time under the water and on the boat safe and fun. They did a good at pointing out interesting sea life. As I noted, all the Sandals staff that we encountered are nice people. I do want to recognize some that made our time at Sandals extra special. Jack, the Manager at the Merry Monkey. Is an absolute gem. Alicia (Bartender), Adio (Hobie Cats), Charmaine (Spa), Krystal (Spa), and Melissa (Diving). Yes, I know I mentioned Melissa previously....And, of course, Bruno and Patrick.

So we arrived at around 4:00 pm. We were taken to the check in area. This is where several Sandals employees whispered back and forth. Then one person talked to the group while two other Sandals employees talked on the phone. So we really couldn’t hear or understand what she said. Eventually we were taken to our room. One person started the adventure with us and then another person finished as the original person never returned after taking another guest to their room. Since we had not eaten anything since 2:30am when we left for the airport we were hungry and thirsty. We found some descent food at the Jerk Shack. Setups were wrapped in a napkin similar to a piece of Scott’s one ply toilet paper. Headed to the bar for a vodka and grapefruit where we told at two different bars they were out of grapefruit juice. We ordered another drink and moved on. Next stop was a martini bar. Wife ordered a dirty martini. We were told they were out of olives and olive juice. Next day we stopped back in office and Were told we could book all of our reservations through their office. This would have been nice to know the day we arrived. We went to Jerk Shack to order nachos on day 2. We were told that is room service only. Went to room and ordered nachos. Were told 45 minutes. We went out on our patio to enjoy the sun and listen to music. After an hour we called to check on food. After calling room service several times, I finally got through. Was told they knocked on our door and since we didn’t answer they took our food back to kitchen. They said they called. We had no messages. They could not leave outside our door. We re-ordered. I’ll update on how the rest of our trip goes.

This was our first time to a Sandals resort and it was beautiful. Upon arrival at the airport - it was a lot of waiting around to get our transfer to the resort. Once we got to the resort - we were pleasantly greeted with towels and beautiful singing 🙂 We were led to check in and asked to upgrade our room with butler service. The process took over 2-1/2 hours which we didn’t understand. They kept telling us “it will be just a few more minutes” over and over again. The gentleman seemed new, but was very friendly, apologetic and even escorted us to our room. We then met our butler who was soo sweet and not only took our requests, but gave us a personal tour of the resort. Day one we spent at the larger pool of the Royal resort. It was gorgeous (no swim up bar), and was the “party” pool w/ a DJ at noon. It got a little too loud for us, so we went up to the 6th floor pool which was a view to die for. Not many chairs, but for whatever reason it wasn’t crowded. Nice bar, too. We spent the other three days at the Sandals Barbados pool. Much smaller and quiet. Meals were very good. Our first night was at the Shooner Seafood and it was so so, but the hibachi, steakhouse and Asian (Soy) were wonderful. Buffets were typical - nice for a quick bite and had a different theme each day. Our biggest disappointment was the butler service. We had three different butlers (based on the time of day) and service was hit or miss. We felt there were a lot of excuses (we can’t do this or that - when they were simple requests) and many times they would say they didn’t get the text message. The one girl had the day shift and all she did was save us pool chairs and drop off a menu. Never saw her again that day - and all she did was walk us to dinner on the last day. The other two were cheerful, but it just wasn’t worth the amount of money we spent. Upon departure - we were given a cab to the Hilton (we stayed an extra day off resort) and were completely taken advantage of by what we were charged. $35 for a 10 minute cab ride (our fault for not asking first, but we assumed Sandals wasn’t going to send us off without confirming). We didn’t know how much we were overcharged until after the fact when we looked up the government regulated fares on . It should have been $15-17 based on the 7 minute cab ride. Overall, it was a gorgeous resort and island. Just wish we made some different choices 🙂

The food and staff were fabulous. Our only complaint was the water. Contrary to our last trip there, at about the same time of year, the water was so rough that my wife did not get into the ocean. I am a good swimmer, but it was pretty rough for me to stay in very long. Obviously this was not Sandals fault. I have seen Facebook posts about both staff and food, that were not very complimentary, but for us - none of their complaints were valid. We had a great time. Weather every day was mid 80 degrees during the say and mid 70's at night. A few days with a little rain, but it didn't last very long.

I wrote this while at Sandals the last week in June on Google Maps. I repeat the review here. This review is specifically for the entertainment staff that the resort. I'm sitting pool side right now, five days into our vacation. I want call out James, Giovanni, Q (Oquindo), Jamie and Faby. They work hard all day making sure that folks who want to have organized fun have an amazing time. (They also respect your desire to just lay out, swim, read or whatever. No constant Caroline. Just lots of opportunities. ) My particular jam on vacation is volleyball. I like a friendly but competitive game. Not always easy to find. This team has delivered daily. And they learn everyone's name and check back throughout the day to see we are interested in other activities. Q and my wife wanted me to brag about my volleyball skills. Let's just say I am 15-20 years older than the other 11 players. I did not embarrass myself and I don't think anyone wished I was on the other team. Giovanni and Q made sure everyone enjoyed themselves!! There were some service misses in other areas of the resort and more importantly some fantastic service recovery. A great vacation so far!

Booked a trip to Sandals Royal Bahamian after returning from Sandals Grenada because we LOVED the Grenada property. Sadly, the Royal Bahamian didn't live up to our expectations. The resort itself is nice, and there are some truly fantastic employees, but a significant lack of consistency across the board made the experience less than stellar. For instance, one day I was waiting for the elevator near our room and one staff member was giving a colleague a major tongue lashing about something. They both saw me there and kept at it. And then the colleague being reprimanded walked by me, grumbling, didn't acknowledge me and kept going. Not 10 minutes later, I was leaving my room and another staff member was near the elevator and could not have been more friendly and gracious. Asked how my day was going, if I needed anything, etc. etc. etc. Shout out to Tanya a supervisor in the East Bay building who quickly resolved an isssue for us and was incredibly pleasant, efficient and kind. We had similar experiences at the restaurants. Sometimes the service was remarkable. Other times we were not only invisible, but orders were forgotten, requests were ignored, we were invisible, etc. Again, shout out to DeShawn (sorry if the spelling is wrong) at Butch's who was FANTASTIC in every way. In addition to the inconsistencies across the board, I'd say the beaches are not that great. They are coves - not real beaches. But we found a stretch of beach immediately adjacent to the propety that did the job nicely. All that being said, the Party Pool/Beach Volleyball crew was FANTASTIC. Q, James, Fabby, and company were incredibly friendly and fun. They made a point to remember my husband's name - which goes a long way. Finally, huge shout out to Jan the yoga instructor. I had the PLEASURE of practicing with her twice (she's only at the resort 2x/week), and it was one of the highlights of this Sandals experience. Sandals...please bring her in more often and do a better job of promoting her presence. She's fantastic. The bottom, bottom line to all this is that after our first (Grenada) experience, we thought we'd be Sandals loyalists and return on a regular basis. Now we're not feeling quite so loyal.

Dream Wedding & Unforgettable Service at Sandals Royal Bahamian (May 2025)

Highlights we are still talking about Butler magic: Aaron and Shanell were the kind of butlers you secretly hope for before you arrive. Friendly, on the ball, and somehow always there right when you need them. They grabbed the impossible dinner slots, surprised us with drinks reorders, and even had chairs and tents set up daily for us on the beach. Dinner to remember: We ate at Chops Steakhouse twice because of our superstar server, Fanir. She had that perfect mix of timing, menu knowledge, and warmth that makes you feel like a VIP. The private candlelight dinner on the beach with Donovan waiting on us was another wow moment. Picture warm sand, quiet waves, and a server who feels like a friend. Wedding day perfection: Brandy, our coordinator, handled every detail and still found time to add our personal touches. Our photographer, nicknamed “Captain Kirk,” delivered a full gallery of sharp, well-lit shots only thirty minutes after we finished. The biggest problem was narrowing down which ones to buy. The officiant spent time getting to know the groom beforehand and wove those details into the ceremony. It felt personal rather than cookie-cutter. Beach, island, and late nights: The main beach has calm, crystal water great for floating and snorkeling. We saw stingrays near the dock, young tarpon schools, and even an octopus in the rocks. The private island is a quick boat hop for extra-quiet sun time. After dark, the piano bar is the place to be and fills quickly. Stress-free private transfer: We booked the resort’s private car service. Both rides, to and from NAS airport, were on time, air-conditioned, No lines, little to no waiting, and the driver shared local tips on the short drive. Room for improvement: Bed and pillows were uncomfortable for us. Consider asking housekeeping for extra pillows or a mattress topper on day 1. The restless nights were a bit unpleasant and in fact the only thing that prevented us from considering this a 5 star review. Walk-in dining tough: Book your first three nights of dinners before you even land. If you have a butler, send the list ahead. DIY guests call the resort or try to use the app. Quick tips Pack a mask and snorkel. Reef life off the pier is worth the extra luggage space. Claim a piano-bar seat early for the sing-along. Invest in the professional photos while at the resort, they are worth it. Most guides say Sandals is “all-inclusive, gratuities included,” and that’s accurate for the bars, restaurants, and most staff you’ll meet. Your personal butlers are the exception—tipping them at the end of your stay is both customary and appreciated. The same goes for the private transfer driver who loads and unloads your bags. Bring some small bills so you’re ready to thank them without scrambling for an ATM, or just caught without. Bottom line We left the resort only to fly home and we would happily recommend Sandals Royal Bahamian to any couple who wants big-hearted staff, plenty of dining choices, and a beautiful, calm beach in one easy package.

First and last sandals experience. We paid a lot of money to go to a run down/broken down resort. There was an issue with every room us 4 couples booked. Bad AC, items missing from the rooms, keys not working, phones not working. The food was great but it was impossible to get a reservation for 2 people or even 6. We spent most of the first day bouncing around trying to figure out who to talk to to even make reservations. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

We enjoyed delicious food at every restaurant and refreshing drinks at the many fun bars around the resort, including our favorite swim-up bar. This was my husband’s and my second trip to Royal Barbados, and it was even better this trip than it was on our first trip two years ago. I have so many good things to say, but I’m going to start off by shouting out our butler team: Toria, Shamara, and Abigail. These three ladies went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. We had lunch poolside most days, they moved mountains for us to get into the restaurants we wanted, and they even anticipated our needs ahead of time. We were treated to snacks in our room after our pool time, bubble baths in our soaking tubs, and lots of champagne in our room! We stayed in the St. Lawrence building, room code SSH1. It was an oversized butler suite with two soaking tubs, one on the balcony and one in the room. The room was spectacular and everything worked great. The AC was nice and frosty, the balcony was spacious and had a great view of the nearby pool, and it had a stocked mini fridge and bar. Zero complaints, and I would stay in this room again. We ate at Portofinos, Bombay Club, American Tavern, Butch’s Chophouse, La Parisienne, Soy, and Kimonos. My favorite is always Bombay Club, but I loved the food at every restaurant we went to. The property at Barbados is gorgeous. I could look at the gardens forever. There were hummingbirds and chickens and cats all over the property, and everything looked so well taken care of. Genuinely, the property is maintained beautifully. I would warn that some of the tile gets slippery when it’s wet, but they are great about putting warning signs out. A few people deserve special shoutouts for going beyond the call of duty: 1. Shiann at Butch’s Chophouse. My folks joined us on this vacation, and my mother is physically handicapped. Shiann made sure that her food was cut up for her, and she kept making sure we (especially my mom) had everything we needed. 2. Gilbert at Soy. I don’t remember our waitress’s name because she only came by for our appetizer order. Gilbert, the man making the sushi, made sure we were taken care of. He made sure we got more water, and he was the one who put in my dessert order when our waitress was nowhere to be found. 3. Noe at Kimonos. I don’t think I’ve smiled or laughed that much during a meal in a long time. He was so entertaining, and he was friendly and engaging. He talked about his pet cat, too. I’m a sucker for fellow cat people lol. He also cooked everything perfectly. 4. Sharita, the bartender at the South Seas pool. She was awesome, kept the drinks flowing, and still made sure to look out for us (she gave me a smoothie alongside the few shots I’d ordered. Amazing). 5. Mario the photographer. We didn’t use his services because we’re a little camera shy, but we saw Mario a few times during the week, and he was always friendly and kind and happy to stop for a little chat. 6. Krystal and Charmaine (whose names I hope I’m not misspelling. Sorry!) at the Red Lane Spa on the Barbados side of the resort. Hubs and I had a couples massage. I left feeling so relaxed, and my husband fell asleep on the table during the massage, so I know he was relaxed, too. Overall, this resort was a 12 out of 10. The staff care so much, and we really had a great time. We’ve got our next Sandals trip lined up for Jamaica, but we are already talking about when we’ll return to Barbados. This trip definitely won’t be our last here.

Gone downhill massively 10 years when we last visited and definitely not a 5 star hotel -3.5 stars at best!

We returned back from a 10 night stay (20th to 20th June) to Sandals Royal Barbados and will not be returning back again. We visited this hotel 10 years ago in Dec 2015 and it has definitely gone downhill and the brand Sandals is not in our eyes a 5 star resort and we have visited 4 other Sandals resorts and this has to be our worse stay. Starting off with some positives > As returning guests when we visited 10 years ago there was a remarkable difference in the attitude and friendliness of staff as they were friendlier this time and always said hello/good morning etc unlike 10 years ago when a lot of the staff just didn't come across as warm or welcoming > The room we had was located in the newest building St Lawrence house and it was modern, spacious and comfortable and a huge improvement from the room we had in the main building on the original side > There was a variety of pools and the resort felt spacious and never crowded but that could be because it was not at full occupancy during our stay > A couple of the restaurants American Tavern and Bombay which we visited twice were outstanding and we loved the food, not just for the taste and presentation but it was temperature hot and service was always very good. Shout out to David the manager at American Tavern for a fantastic meal on our last night as he and his team really looked after us Areas requiring significant improvements:- Service:- 1. Speed of delivering luggage to our room We must have waited at least 50 minutes or more for our luggage to be delivered and we phoned a couple of times to chase and then Adrian went down to check on the luggage. It just seemed to be a long wait and i wouldn't expect it to have taken so long 2. Turn down service in the evenings We received turn down service 4 nights out of 10 which was very poor. The first night when we arrived was when we had the offer of turn down but we did not require it as we were in our room in the late afternoon and had just arrived. After that for 4 days consecutively we had to phone for extra towels and toiletries which was very frustrating. I spoke to Shontelle over the phone who said she would investigate why we were not getting turn down, then we went into the club concierge the following morning to speak to the team again and Shontelle recognised it was me she spoke to over the phone and was surprised we still had not received turn down. The following day we then spoke with Shay to arrange a meeting with duty manager and spoke to Dexter on Wed 25th June who assured us for the remainder of our holiday (we arrived 20th and were leaving 30th June) would receive it going forwards but the turn down did not happen again and we had to go to speak to concierge again. We just felt we had to repeatedly chase on a service that should be included as part of staying in a 5 star hotel and that repeatedly we were just told they were having internal challenges in the turn down department 3. Poor communication and slow service Upon arrival we noticed one of the cupboard doors had broken and we reported it on the first day of arrival. It took them over 4 days to get it fixed and we had to chase on that a few times. The mini bar in the room did not appear to be restocked the first couple of days and once we had spoken to club concierge it then got stocked every day. 4. Very poor standard of food in some of the restaurants Overall the standard of food has gone down massively compared to 10 years ago at this resort. We visited Spice once at lunch time for the buffet and nothing was made fresh and the hot food they were serving was cold in temperature and the choice available had been reduced significantly. For a 10 night stay we did struggle at lunch time as we found out they had closed American Tavern which would have usually been another choice available to us and we were lucky we hired a car for 3 days so had lunch off resort for 3 days. One meal that was really bad was at the signature restaurant Butches Steak and seafood which is by reservation only. We were very surprised when we arrived at the restaurant to have to wait 20 mins to be greeted by a host as were 6 other couples who all arrived at 8pm. The front of house manager had a poor attitude in trying to laugh it all off and playing it down but we did not find it funny. It proceeded to get worse when our starter arrived and Adrian starter had a dead bug stuck to his garlic bread which any server would have noticed. We asked the server to take it way immediately and then when she returned back 10 mins later she asked if the front of house had spoken to us and we said no. By the time he came over we were ready to leave as the mains were just awful. The lobster tail and steak was so salty that it was inedible and the chips which i asked for specifically to be temperature hot were cold and stale and tasted they had been reheated up. We left halfway through the meal after speaking to the front of house as it was diabolical. Another meal we had at the Italian restaurant Portofinos, was just as inedible as the tuna fish was salty, way over cooked and the pasta was very al dente and swimming in oil. I'm not sure why Sandals ask if you have any food allergies as they offer very limited choice if you did. At Portofinos i asked if they could do the risotto without cheese as i have intolerance to dairy and they said no and same for the main as there was a chicken dish with cheese and asked if that could be removed and again the answer was no. It seems like a tick box exercise they are doing with every table just to ensure they've covered themselves but there is then little flexibility on what they can offer We did raise all these issues with the meals with Dexter one of the club managers who spoke to and when we told him how we enjoyed eating at Chefette which is Barbados largest food chain he was in disbelief as we said how a fast food chain can serve piping hot food that is tasty , delicious and that the restaurant we visited was clean and yet we are staying in a 5 star hotel and only enjoying food at a couple of restaurants out of a choice of 20! Unfortunately we could not visit Chefette again as we had the car for only 3 days but if there was one nearby we would have probably gone there again! 5. Evidence of cost cutting Its very apparent that Sandals are under going cost cutting as we noticed things like bottles of water have now reduced in size from 500ml to 330ml, Wifi is only available once you've checked in so when we arrived we had to wait a few hours to use the wifi whereas in the past I am sure they had free wifi. The Cafe de Paris we visited 10 years ago had a great choice of cakes and ice cream which was all very good and on this visit, the quality of ice cream was very poor and the flavours had been reduced to just 3-4 flavours, we noticed on all the menus the choices available had all been down sized considerably and for a 10 night stay it can get very boring if you visit that restaurant more than a couple of times. There didn't appear to be evidence of cleaning going on in the communal areas or lifts or anywhere round the resort during the day time as we saw dirty cups by the lift in our building not cleared away for 3 days and the lift doors were dirty with hand prints that had not been cleaned. It was also very evident that some restaurants like Soy and Butches steak and seafood house were under staffed and then other places like Heart and Sol were over staffed as that was a much quieter place open during the day. We also found out American Tavern should have been open at lunch time but closed because the resort was quieter. During our stay there was no foam parties or silent disco or any chocolate evenings which happened at other sandals resorts and 10 years ago they had chocolate evenings. The entertainment was almost non existent during our stay. We were speaking to David the manager at American Tavern and showing him pictures of our stay at Sandals Barbados 10 years ago and it was very evident how the standards have gone down at this resort 6. Loyalty and welcome As returning guests to Sandals (this was our 5th Sandals holiday) we were not recognised as returning guest as we received no welcome pack upon arrival explaining when the returning guests dinner was and what gifts or vouchers we had. After a few days we stopped by the Loyalty desk on the Sandals Royal side and the employee we spoke to was rude and abrupt and insisted we should have had the pack which i firmly said we hadn't got it. She was very sour, and had no customer service whatsoever or any patience and we seemed like we were bothering her by asking her questions as she said it was all explained in the pack. This could have been Monday 23rd June we spoke to her. I was not impressed with her attitude and definitely did not want to go back in there. We also received no acknowledgement from our travel agent who we booked with as we followed up with her and asked if we received the welcome she had requested and we did not receive anything 7. Inconsistencies and real lack of communication Overall nothing felt really joint up or consistent. The old menus were displayed in the room on the tvs, then on the Sandals app they had the new menus and then half way through the week the menu were removed off the app so you couldn't see any menus. We requested Butches chop house to be booked for Sunday the last night for 7-7.30pm and Dexter the manager wanted to ensure we had a good meal after we had raised our complaint to him. On our room tv the booking was then showing for 9pm on that sunday and we had to then go and speak to club concierge and then they said they put down 9pm to hold a place but were working on getting an earlier time but no note left for us and in the end we cancelled Butches chop house as we were so disappointed with Butches Steak and seafood. We were not going to take a chance again and have another rubbish meal on our last night! On the last day it was agreed due to all the issues we were experiencing we could extend our late check out and have our room until 2pm but no one mentioned that we had to go back to concierge to get new keys as our old keys would not work so we then spent another 30 mins getting that sorted on our last morning which we could have done in advance. It's a real shame to see this resort that we visited 10 years ago has gone downhill and not improved at all. For a 10 night stay at a hotel that calls itself 5 star it was not 5 star service or 5 star food. At best it would be 3 stars and when you are stayed at other Sandals resorts and know how its been much better in the past, it's not given us confidence that we would choose Sandals again as there needs to be improvements to the quality of food, the variety available at lunch time, staffing issues need to be addressed, turn down service needs improving on, better communication needs to be worked on so expectations can be managed and someone needs to asses the balance between cost cutting and keeping guests loyal so that that return as happy sandals guests as the brand prides itself on loyalty but we were certainly not recognised as loyal customers.

My husband and I booked sandals royal Barbados for our wedding anniversary and my birthday. We have had a few Caribbean & Mexico holidays staying in the Secrets and Excellence resorts so we were really excited to experience a Sandals resort. Our highlights were our hotel room and the evening dining experience. Our room was a club room, beautiful and clean with good aircon. All evening restaurants that we dined in the food and service was good. The tropical grounds are beautiful. Our lowlights; The seaweed issue on the beach, we understand that the hotel cannot help this but other Caribbean resorts we have stayed in have communicated the problem in advance and do their utmost to clear it up during the day. For the 10 days we stayed we never saw anybody clearing the seaweed off the beach. Pool sun loungers, very difficult to get sun loungers even at 7am . Majority of sun loungers are reserved by the butler rooms butler, a bit frustrating as some of these guests do not appear until after 12. Pool bar service, rude (bar staff too busy talking in groups and ignore you) and slow service. Lunchtime restaurants service very hit and miss - Neptunes by far the worst service cross the resort, rude, slow, unhelpful and uninterested. Gym - hygiene of the gyms was poor, equipment dated and not cleaned regularly. Finally It appears that unless you have a butler suite you are treated as 2nd class citizens. What I will say there appears to be plenty of guest facing staff, they tend to spend most of their time talking amongst themselves and not putting the guests first. My husband and I work in hospitality and travel and would find it very difficult to recommend sandals royal Barbados based on our experience. Sandals Royal Barbados in our opinion is very overrated, overpriced and did not deliver on its promise.

Best Sandals Resorts FAQs

What should I know before going to a Sandals Resort?

Sandals Resorts are designed exclusively for couples and are adults-only (18+). All resorts are all-inclusive, which means nearly everything—from gourmet dining to premium drinks to water sports—is included. Be sure to bring a mix of casual and resort evening attire, as well as reef-safe sunscreen and water shoes if you plan to snorkel or explore.

How can I get the best deal on a Sandals Resort?

To get the best deal:
Book early—Sandals prices often rise as availability decreases.
Watch for Sandals 777 Deals, which offer an extra 7% off select rooms each week.
Look for promos like up to 65% off, free nights, or $1,000 booking credits.
Use a Sandals Preferred Travel Agency like Honeymoons.com for help finding bonus perks and lower rates.

What is not included at Sandals all-inclusive resorts?

While Sandals covers almost everything, a few things are not included:
Spa treatments at the Red Lane® Spa
Off-property excursions and island tours
Gift shop purchases
Tips for butlers (tipping other staff is not allowed)
Private candlelight dinners
Some high-end wine or liquor options (most are included)

How strict is the dress code at Sandals?

Sandals has a relaxed dress code during the day—swimwear, shorts, and coverups are totally fine. However, resort evening attire is expected at most restaurants for dinner. This typically means:
Collared shirts and dress shorts or pants for men
Dresses, skirts, or elegant separates for women
Closed-toe shoes are recommended for men at some fine dining spots.
