We returned 2 weeks ago from SDR and overall, we had a great time - I’m ready to go back! I would like to first call out some of the delightful staff we encountered during our stay – photos included! Our Concierge, Dishonna, who assisted us during check-in, as well as the whole time during our stay was phenomenal! Her beautiful smile and “can-do” attitude greeted us every time – she is truly customer service oriented. Our Hobie-Cat sailor, Tevoy, was exceptional and very personable; not only with his expertise in sailing, but also sharing many interesting and wonderful conversations during our sails – very special. We looked forward to sailing with him every day! It was also really nice getting to know Clive and CJ (Carsel Jr. 😊) as well. Riding Great Big Mabel was a hoot! Taking the kayak out to the reef was fun and interesting – lots to do for water sports! Tafarise, from the dive shop, was just so sweet and a joy to talk to. Denzil and Ackeem at the Dunn’s Rum Club (which was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME) were hands down the nicest and most personable young gentlemen you could have making your drinks – great guys! We just can’t say enough about how friendly and great the staff was at SDR. We felt that we had made some new friends and it was definitely a “welcome home” for us. The beach was just the right size with large floating rings. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. Blum coffee was a true gem, a cozy retreat in itself. Entertainment was very unique; we really enjoyed the contortionist, illusionist and fire dancers.
There were just a few things that were a bit of a disappointment (based on the fact that we have been to a handful of Sandals resorts and thought they need to be mentioned). It was really difficult getting chairs with an umbrella because either the butlers grabbed them or you would need to get up by 5:30am to get one, which seems to be the norm at other resorts as well. Our room was clean, very modern and nicely appointed with comfortable beds - except for the really uncomfortable furniture, very stiff and not user-friendly. Granted, you don’t spend a lot of time in your room; however, when you’re in your room, relaxing, it would be nice to have some comfortable seating. Overall, the food was really good. The ones that stand out: L’Amande was excellent, very consistent with food; we ate there 3 times. Hanami was great too; we ate there 2 times. Dunn’s Rum Club had very tasty food and drinks. Saltaire had a really good selection of items at the buffet. Cascata was also very good. We did notice some inconsistencies for when there were maybe different chefs/cooks on different days?? For example, at Zuka, my husband had the swordfish one night, which was delicious and when we went back another night, it was dry and tough, basically inedible. We had the same thing happen our first night at Banyu, General Tso’s chicken was dry and tough. Breakfast at Edessa was pretty good but was very inconsistent with timing and food prep; some days we got our food quickly, other days we waited for at least 40 minutes. Some days the French toast was very hard and inedible. Dinner was basically underwhelming. The avgolemono soup was not authentic and had very little chicken and rice. One last thing I would like to mention is that we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. He was very excited about going on a wreck dive (which was an additional cost, but he was willing to pay for) and tried to plan in advance, but that there would need to be a minimum of 4 people. He was told that they would make it happen at some point during our 11 day stay. Several days later, after my husband checked almost daily for a status, he was told that they would be going on Wednesday at noon, then it was changed to Friday at noon and then it was changed to 2:00 (we were going home the next day); THEN he was told it wasn’t going to happen at all because there weren’t enough people. On our last day, we find out that the dive center could have had a shuttle/taxi take him to Sandals Ocho Rios, where they regularly go on the wreck dive. But no one on the dive staff thought to mention that – very disappointing. All in all, I just want to say that we will be back because the good outweighed the bad AND the staff was AMAZING!! Hopefully, the dive center will communicate their excursions better next time 😊

From the moment that you arrive at the entrance of Royal Plantation, be prepared to be pampered and treated like royalty- the smiling faces, the kind words and the beautiful grounds and lovely facility will clear your mind.
Kimi - Garnett- Junior and others that I cannot remember will make your visit perfect in The Wobbly Peacock. Special libations are never a problem and served with the utmost of importance for your pleasure.
Every morning you can expect to be greeted by the fantastic staff at The Terrace for breakfast- Sherika, Jamie, Stephanie and Tanisha will make sure that you have a wonderful start to your day. So many different choices and all are great!!
On The Terrace for dinner, you can expect the utmost in service from the young ladies and men that take care of your evening meal. Courtney, Houshain, Demario, Demarco and Romayne will ensure that you enjoy every evening.
In La Papillion, Joseph, Charon and so many others are gracious and eloquent in every way and the menu is delightful as well.
Brandon and Alex in recreation activities are the best!! Tanika is a fabulous singer and enjoyed her so much. These special young people are fun but appropriate in every way. The best!!
Now to the beach butlers that we spend the most time with during our vacation- Daniello- Romaine and Trevardo- cannot imagine coming to RP and not seeing your smiling faces - our glasses are never empty and your sense of humor is fabulous!!
Our butlers Gladstone and Sherrill are fantastic - these smiles never get old - only more special as we truly miss them when we leave for home.
We had the opportunity to meet and spend a little more time chatting with some of the other butlers on this visit.
Johvan, Adrian, Antony, Bebeato, Marvin, Alrick, Neal, Chase- miss those smile and personalities- truly amazing- each and every one will go above and beyond to ensure your visit is the absolute best-.
Not enough is reported about the housekeeping team. These young people work tirelessly to make sure that your accommodations are immaculate each and every day. They do a fantastic job.
In the beginning of visiting the Gift Shop, it was for essentials that we may have forgotten- now when we arrive, it is the first place that we stop in to visit beautiful Lorna, Danielle and Kathy- these ladies are the sweetest you will ever meet. Cannot imagine not seeing their faces when we enter the shop.
Omar has cultivated a team that exemplifies graciousness- poise- energy and passion for the most pleasant experience at Royal Plantation. We cannot say enough about this resort, only that it is our home away from home. Never goodbye- it is see you soon🌺

Our first visit to RP and we were not disapointed. Rooms excellent, I believe recently refurbished, good restruants with options do dine at 2 other Sandals resorts. RP only has 80 rooms so it is quiet and relaxed with no loud music playing. Evening entertainmant is usually a solo singer but we did enjoy a fire eater and steel band one night. What you won't get is a dance band or any musicial show which is I suspect due to the older age group staying although ther were a few younger couples when we were there. The swimming pool is very small but has two lovely beaches with lots of sunbeds. My only complaint is that the sunbeds did not have a nice thick cushion on them as you would expect from a top hotel, so not as comfortable as they could be, otherwise I would have awarded 5 stars.

We just returned from our third visit at Royal Plantation. Again, everything was perfection. We had the most beautiful weather which made our beach days even better then usual.
General Manager - Omar. Always smiling. Always attentive to each and every guest. Remembers everyone's name EVERYONE!!!! I am not quite sure how he is able to do that but it is a talent for sure. He is always visible making sure everything runs smoothly.
Our room - Viceroy #304. Beautiful view. Always cleaned every single day to perfection. Alsolutely spotless and well stocked with everything we need. The housekeeper is amazing.
Butlers - I could go on and on. On our two previous visits Anthony and Robert were our butlers. They do such an amazing job. Very attentive but not intrusive. This trip (due to staff vacations) We had Anthony and Richard. We were so pleased to meet Richard and again Richard and Anthony went above and beyond. For our anniversary they decorated the bed beautifully, prepared a bubble bath with flower petals, and brought us a plate of delicious decadent chocolate desserts to enjoy. They knew where our spot was on the beach and checked on us daily to see if we needed anything at all. The afternoon cheese and cracker plate was so appreciated (my favorite). On one day we had Carlos as our butler and he was wonderful as well. Never missed a beat with those cheese and cracker plates. He even surprised us on the beach by bringing us coconut shrimp and beef patties for lunch. That was a wonderful surprise !
Dining - Again, everything was prepared to perfection. No lack of options here. Great selection at every single restaurant. I even tried some new dishes that I had not tried on previous visits and enjoyed them tremendously.
Beach butlers - Trevardo and Daniello- OMG! The best !!!! Always smiling. Always cracking jokes. They even remembered my drink of choice from 6 months ago. They are so pleasant and work so hard. I look forward to seeing them at each and every visit. They are the happiest young men and never seem to get tired. They are truly on top of their game.
This visit we wanted to try the Hobi Cat. Chadwayne took us out to give my husband instructions. OMG it was like an excursion in itself. He took us all around. Pointed out different buildings along the coast and explained what everything was. He was so patient with his instructions and such a wonderful young man. We had the best time ever. Be warned though....that Hobi Cat is harder then it looks but give it a try. It was such a fun experience.
Bartenders - The best !!! Drinks are always flowing and are fantastic. If you don't know what you want they will just whip something up and you will be amazed. Garnett Junior and Delano are the best. Giselle is fantastic as well. These are such hard workers and always so pleasant.
So this was our 3rd visit and we are returning in December this year. My goal is to see my home away from home and my second family twice a year. So far I am reaching my goal. I have been home one day and I miss these people and this resort already. I am convinced that Jamaicans are the happiest most loving and positive people and I look forward to my next visit.

I just wanted to take a minute and let you know about some of the rockstars that we crossed paths with during our vacation last week. This was our 4th stay at Royal Plantation and, without a doubt, TAMARA proved to be the best Butler we've ever had! It was obvious how much she cares for her guests and she was always attentive to our needs. On the Terrace, one of the staff that really stood out was VANYA. She always greeted us with a smile and it was obvious to us that she really loves her job and her guests. In your Red Lane Spa we had a couples massage (always a highlight of the trip!) and my therapist was CAMILLE. She was so spectacular that I booked a 2nd session with her afterward! And while I understand that he doesn't normally work the Terrace, we had SHIVON one night and what a treat he was. His inviting demeanor and level of service were super appreciated. It's no wonder that he's usually up in Papillion!
We couldn't be happier with Sandals' Royal Plantation!!

My husband and I visited this resort May 2-9. It was absolutely beautiful, peaceful and the perfect vibe for us. Most guests were over 40. There was not a "club" atmosphere which was perfect as we are in are late 50's and no longer in the "party all night" stage of life. The resort was smaller- 75 rooms which made it intimate and cozy. The general manager, Omar, greeted us by name daily and ensured all our needs were met. Our butlers, Tamara and Carlos, were the best. They lined up dinner reservations, escorted us to dinner on the adjoining property (Sandals Ochos), set up tee times for my husband to play golf, kept our room stocked with favorite drinks and brought us lunch on the beach. We were able to visit Sandals Ochos, which had more of the "energetic" crowd a few night for dinner. The downside to going there was waiting on shuttle busses to transfer between the 2 properties. Busses ran every 45-60 minutes. So we had to plan our night around the transport times. Not a big deal, just something to consider. The other thing to mention is that the Royal Plantation has no elevators. Everything is stairs. Even getting down to the beach. So if mobility is an issue for you, please keep this in mind. My knees were talking to me within a few days. Airport transfer was well coordinated but took over 2 hours to get to the property due to traffic. Return to airport was in the morning so not as bad. All of our meals were delicious on both properties. And tea time at the royal plantation was a nice treat too. We had a wonderful time and look forward to a future visit!

My wife and I had a great time at this resort! This was our sixth Sandals stay, and we would describe Sandals Granada as an overall good experience. Some of their resorts have the party vibe going full swing and others are more layed, back but we put Sandals Granada right in the middle. It's just what you would expect from Sandals, there's plenty of activities going on and the main pools jumping during the afternoon but there's plenty of space to chill out and just relax.
The staff is wonderful, landscaping is lush, snorkeling off the beach is actually great! Lots of different fish, and this resort has good drink service on the beach and solid nightly entertainment. The best part...it's 5 minutes from the airport!
You can't go wrong with this Sandals resort, overall, it was a great experience, and we already booked a return trip!

This is a small, beautiful and quaint resort that offers all of the luxury amenities that Sandals is known for. My only somewhat negative thing to say here is that the beach was small. If you are a beach person and like a long white sandy beach to walk on then this is probably not the place for you. For some people that is a deal breaker so I wanted to put it out there. Having said that, we still spent a tremendous amount of time swimming in the ocean in the enclosed area and it was beautiful. There are tons of beautiful tropical fish to see so bring your snorkels and masks! We also visited the sculpture park with island routes. This was an awesome experience if you like snorkeling.
The food in our opinion was fantastic and the service was great. Just remember like any other island that you are on “island time” and sometimes the wait times for dinner varied but who’s in a rush when you visit a place like this right?
We stayed in the beachfront club level pink gin room and the view and room was beautiful. We loved every minute there and have no complaints. The housekeeping was fantastic and everything was always stocked and always kept clean.
The airport is literally only a 5 minute transfer to the resort. We did the online check in before we arrived and we were walking to the beach within 20 minutes of arriving on the property. You can’t ask for much better than that!
I do want to mention a couple of the employees that stood out to us. Mario at the pool bar was awesome! Always greeted us with a smile and made the best cocktails. Wendy at the resort shop was sweet and helpful every single time I went in there. She was also our lady at the returning guest dinner that sat with us, such a sweet girl. This place is lucky to have her. Last but not least Travis in the club Sandals lounge was our go to for anything we needed. He was always so pleasant and helpful. Thank you Travis!
We had a great week here and loved every minute. Go, you won’t regret it!

We have been to Sandals Grenada many times including when it was a private resort. Grenada and the Sandals staff are so friendly and welcoming.
Its the diving in particular that draws me back, the island really is the wreck capital of the Caribbean. The dive staff are really good at sorting the groups out to there experience so you can have a good dive whether its your 5th dive or 500th, the briefings are good and its great fun and very safe. I am looking forward to returning at Christmas to do my Divemasters course.
So thank you to Kimshon, Tyrone,Thane, leston,Adrian, Shamire and Curtis, also the boat crew Shawn,Rendon, Kurval and Zane and of course Anne Marie shoreside
Sorry if I missed anybody, see you soon, Peter....baaaa

Here goes nothing!
It’s September (2024) and we’ve been dreaming of our annual vacation for months. This year marks our 3rd year anniversary and we’ve chosen to visit an all-inclusive 5-Star Sandals resort on the island of Grenada. The cost is steep, more than $16,000 after an applied 65% discount, but we’re excited to see what we get for this kind of money in a country that recently increased their hourly minimum wage to EC 9.20 ($3.40 US). Here we come!
The airport in Grenada is small, a bit disorganized, but nothing new for us on our travels. As we exit the terminal, into the unexpected heat and humidity, there are several semi-organized people directing the new arrivals to their perspective rides. To our surprise, what awaits is a van with no running air conditioning. The person escorting us has insisted we jump in the van, that’s sweltering hot and smells a bit funky, but we're tired and do what is asked. We assume we’re leaving immediately but quickly find out that’s not going to be the case. The wait is long and unpleasant.
The ride is short, less than 5 minutes, and we have arrived at Sandals. We’re quickly checked in, offered drinks and introduced to our butler(s). He appears to be kind though seems overly professional and not dressed appropriately for the weather. He’s also training someone new to being a butler. Both butlers walk us through part of the small campus before taking us up to our suite. As we enter, we notice there’s a bottle of champagne. Not something we drink, and seems to be something the butler should’ve known before our arrival to the island. Also, at this time, we realize we still don’t have the drinks offered. Oh well, we’re officially on vacation.
The Italian ocean view suite is exactly what the doctor ordered. The place is clean and spacious. The room is hot, something the butler overlooked, but we fix this right away. The decor is a mixture of modern and local. All the essentials are stocked and, wait for it, no Vegas sensors to monitor our unruly behavior. Lol! The bathroom is huge! No doubt, the main attraction is the infinity plunge pool on the patio just outside our bedroom sliders. Before they leave, the butlers provide us a cell phone and go over our “entire” dining agenda for our extended visit (9 nights). We’re not opposed to their suggestions but feel it’s a bit presumptuous to tell us where and when we’re going to be eating. Additionally, if we wanted to be on a schedule, we could’ve skipped the extra butler fees and arranged for our dinner locations and times online prior to departing for our trip.
The next morning arrives way too early (900am). There’s running water and it literally sounds like it’s running down the walls. For some reason the plunge pools are on some sort of cleaning timer at the crack of dawn (daily). After a bit, the noise stops and we attempt to fall back asleep; only to be awakened again by our butler calling. We’re annoyed, as we’ve stated we prefer to sleep in and have indicated we’ll call them when we’re ready to start our day. We mention the water and hope this will be fixed. It won’t!
Stop one is a French bakery. There’s Reggae music playing and nobody at the counter to assist. After a few minutes a sweet lady pops out, then two, from the back and greets us kindly. They indicate the coffee machine is broken and offer us smoothies made with coffee ice-cream. We try a crepe but realize some of the fruits are canned. Bagels it is.
After breakfast, we call the butler. About 15 minutes later our butler(s) arrive. We find this intriguing because they’re supposed to be at our service and it wouldn’t take more than about 3-5 minutes to walk the entire campus. We ask about the coffee machine and are assured it’s no big deal. It’s worth mentioning here that the coffee machine would only work one day during our visit. It’s also worth pointing out that there’s another coffee machine on campus but our butlers would never tell us this even though we’ve expressed the importance of starting our days with iced coffee. Sad!
They take us to our designated beach spot for the day. There’s a very small cooler with some drinks. We appreciate the pre-stock of water but the local beers are not to our liking so we request some very common drinks (Coronas and White Claws). The main butler seems to be disappointed with our request. He states these are not normally offered drinks and expresses it will be difficult to accommodate us. Wow! Thanks for making us feel bad!
The beach area is small but truly majestic. We immediately hit the water and find ourselves surrounded by exotic fish. They are extremely aggressive but nothing to worry about. The water is a bit warm though feels a lot nicer than the 2 main pools on campus. I’m dying to see what lurks below the surface. We call our butler and ask where we need to go to borrow some snorkel gear. We assume it’s where they offer snorkel trips, just a few yards down the beach, but are informed Sandals won’t let visitors borrow anything. This is followed with “you can purchase in the gift shop” or take a snorkeling tour. Really? Off to the gift shop we go.
The semi-enclosed beach area is no deeper than about 10 feet. I spend the next few hours trolling around the rocks finding super cool things. I decide it’s time to see what’s outside the “safe” zone. There’s no lifeguard but that’s okay, I’ve been a triathlete for years, and there’s no sign stating it’s dangerous beyond the roped area. I quickly realize the depth changes to 25-50 feet. The current is no joke and it’s wanting to take me. The sea-life is quite different here. The parrotfish are huge, I catch sight of a large ray playing in the current, and I’m not going to tell you what else. Da-dum! Da-dum! After a few hours my gift shop mask is shot so I head back in to relax.
Sitting on the beach is so nice but there are some concerns realized right away. First, the seating is limited and we’re literally stacked next to people we don’t know, don’t trust, and are not interested in listening to all day. The waiters on the beach seem to have no service pattern and it’s pointless to call our butler because we realize we can get a drink faster by getting it ourselves at the beach bar. We notice a lot of sketchy people on the beach every day. Some appear to be local vendors but others aren’t carrying anything to sell. They do not hesitate to invade our space and their persistence is quite annoying. We mention this to our butler though he states the beach is not private and that there’s nothing they can do.
We decide to head back to our room around 4 (most days) to enjoy our semi-private plunge pool and catch the sunset from our amazing view. Each day there’s a random snack waiting for us in the room but it’s impossible to tell how long they’ve been sitting there. After the second day we tell the butler our daily plans but, for some reason, it doesn’t seem they care because each day the snack is sitting there when we arrive.
Not long later, it’s dinner time so we call our butler. This is required. On this night, and almost every night after, we would wait outside up to 25 minutes. The explanation for the wait given to us was that they were helping multiple guests. We found this odd, as we paid for a service, but also felt bad for them so let it go. Each night we tried something new. For us, the top places were Soy and Le Jardinier. We enjoyed aspects of the others but agreed something just seemed to be missing the mark for us. One on night, my birthday, the butler thought it was a good idea to set something up for me at dinner. While we could appreciate the gesture, his not asking my partner if this was something I would like was a huge error on his part.
Most nights the resort offered live local music and dance. You gotta try the silent DJ party on the beach! On one occasion we asked our butler where to catch a college football game to watch my partner’s alma mater. First they directed us to a place called the Library. We were super excited to see the game, even left the beach early, but upon arrival were met by a group of local musicians that seemed less than pleased to see us in their space. We asked about the game and they said the remote was missing. We took this as our cue to leave and ended up having to watch it in our room. On another day we asked for another spot to catch a game. This time, the butler suggested the British Pub (Tipsy Turtle). The part they left out was that it wasn’t open when we wanted to watch the game.
On all but three days we chose the beach as our healing destination. On the other days we tried the “party” pool. This is where we found water volleyball, a live DJ, and a swim up bar. Sadly, the volleyball was a bunch of aggressive men and not safe for my misses. On at least two occasions fights almost broke out. The DJ only played for 4 hours a day and spent lots of time talking. The bar was cool but the water was not. Not sure if the resort has a pool circulator but it must’ve been broken during our stay.
Towards the end our stay we asked our butler about taking an island tour. He recommended using the resort to book and said they were all worth the hefty price. We chose a Jeep tour that allowed for me to drive. Stops included a chocolate place, a waterfall, the rainforest with monkeys, and a stop to enjoy the local cuisine. Sadly, the chocolate place was nothing more than a tourist trap, the waterfall was dirty and short, the monkey (singular) was trained and the guys showing were extremely inappropriate, and the local food place looked condemned and most people of tour didn’t eat. On the positive side, driving there was wild and we learned from the locals that Coronas and White Claws can be obtained virtually everywhere.
This trip to Sandals Grenada left us with mixed feelings. We both loved the resort location. Most of the food was fantastic and many of the staff members made our visit feel welcoming. With exception to the butler service, that cost us a lot of money, we feel this is a great destination for anyone looking to find a way to relax and experience life on an island that has changed drastically over the last few decades.
Our advice to Grenada Sandals, as experienced travelers, don’t offer a service you cannot properly provide for the price you're charging. Maybe reconsider how many guests can be serviced by each butler. Take the time to personally respond to your customer complaints because people like us keep you in business. Hope this helps future travelers wanting to visit Grenada. Chad and Tracey

First, I'd like to thank the entire team. It was a super pleasant and enjoyable stay, with excellent customer service at every step, from check-in, to the bartenders, to the waiters at the bar, to the restaurants, and to the entire staff in general. The food was very good and varied; I loved the Soy. The management frequently checks the quality of everything, including Mr. Fraser. Just one suggestion: the entertainment team could do more activities in the afternoon, with participatory games, etc., but this doesn't take away from my 10/10 rating. I'll definitely be back!

In particular my wife and I would like to mention our housekeeper Camisha, and the extraordinary manager Ashanti. They sure made a difference, and so many of the other staff members. We would absolutely highly recommend Sandals St. Vincent, especially for first timers.

The team set us up at the beach or pool everyday with a cooler full of everything we needed and were only a phone call away for anything else we might have needed.

We had a club level room. The resort is beautiful and the excursions and resort snorkeling were amazing. ATVs and the sunset catamaran excursion were so much fun! The entertainment staff was super fun and the food was phenomenal. Those at Butch's, Parasol, and Gatsu Gatsu were great, but those at Scrimchaw seemed like they hated their jobs. The pizzeria and Blum were sometimes nice and other times seemed like they hated their jobs. The bartenders were usually nice but sometimess you never saw a smile or a word other than to ask what drink you wanted, unless they were talking to another employee (especially at the main pool). The housekeeping staff was absolutely horrible. We were left completely without toilet paper one day and had to call twice. Took 2 hours to get it. They only left us 2 washclothes and restocked our shampoo/conditioner/bodywash when we left a note (as we were about out of everything). Our bathroom also smelled like sewage. I mentioned it to the conciere staff the 1st day and asked if it was safe to drink the tap water. She didn't seem to blink at the smell and only told me not to drink the tap water. We had to call to get extra water as they didn't restock it unless we requested, even though we had concierge room. They only seem to restock our concierge refrigerator if we called. The concierge was also out of water one morning prior to our excursion and they couldn't restock prior to us leaving at 0815. We went to the St. Lucia Grand for our first sandals vacation and it was amazing!!! St. Vincent really needs to work on things. I told the front desk about everything when we checked out and they didn't offer any compensation or points or anything. Still charged us the $6/day AC fee. I won't go back to this resort. They really need to work on their service and housekeeping staff. People pay a lot of money to go there. They could at least be pleasant and do their jobs well. I would say St Vincent's needs to clear out some of their staff that don't seem to like their jobs.

We just returned after a week stay during our Honeymoon. While we have done many all inclusive’s, this was our first stay at a Sandals.
We loved our 5th floor balcony ocean view room. We seriously believe it was the best room on the resort. They have many villas but the villas don’t have the views like we had we the the ocean view-balcony suite. Highly recommend.
We didn’t do butler this time but could see the benefit in doing it in the future. The butlers are out before 6am reserving the best chairs for their guests which is helpful. Unfortunately, if you don’t have a butler, you’ll never be able to get a seat at the infinity pool.
We highly recommend checking at the front desk for a cabana reservation as soon as you check in. We did this and it was one of our most fun days.
Also, ensure you sign up for things like kayaking and snorkeling. They are free but only limited spots are available so sign up as soon as you can.
The Rum bar has the best bartenders and they are eager to let you try all their rums and tell you all about them.
We had the best week here and are already looking forward to coming back again

Unfortunately this resort is not even close to a 5 star resort! We went in with high hopes of a Sandals resort as it was our first visit and unfortunately the room we were in had several faults including a broken bed and broken rails in the bathroom. The room was also incredibly dated BUT once we complained about this we were upgraded which was very good. The main reason for the poor review is the service, it is beyond bad. The lack of care from the staff, the disorganization across all the restaurants was dreadful and it took forever to get served for anything.
The resort just felt soulless with very little repore with any staff and many just looked like they didn't want to be doing the job.
The positives of the resort is it's very clean, the food was good (when it finally arrived), but if you are someone who has been to somewhere like Mauritius or other Indian ocean islands you will feel very let down by the dated rooms and poor service.
It's definitely put us off ever visiting the Caribbean again and Sandals was beyond disappointing.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon in May 2025. There are so many things about this resort that we loved. The food was delicious, the resort was clean, and the people felt like strangers when we got here, and felt like family when we were leaving. The staff are amazing. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, loved, and taken care of! A few specific names to mention: Remmy at the bar greeted us with a smile and great attitude daily, and the delicious drinks were also a plus! Same for Peter at the main pool bar. The “Alex” special was my personal favorite drink! The entertainment team: Neville, Cassius, Tamekia, Fenella, and Anselle, were above and beyond amazing! So much fun! The pool games and activities were a blast. We truly cannot wait to return to Sandals Grande St Lucia!

We love the Sandals/Beaches resorts. We went to St. Lucia Grade for our 25th anniversary. There were a few hiccups, but overall, we had a great time!
Positives: The people! From Remy (Poolside bartender) with his Strip Club Sandwich drink, Daisy our ever-so accommodating cabana hostess, Jayda our paparazzi who captured such wonderful pictures of our trip, Nyah the water aerobics instructor who wouldn’t let us swim away (and made us smile every time we saw her), and Judy our guest services representative that booked all of our events. They were AMAZING!
WARNING - we were not aware of the drive from the airport to the resort. If you get the least bit car sick - beware! It was a rough trip.
The resort was beautiful; the water a spectacular blue; the room was beautifully appointed. We did not upgrade rooms because we honestly feel we’re only there to sleep. We had a view of the “opposite” side of the island (facing the west) and had no complaints about the room. Dining was easy for all meals and there is a wide variety of options to choose from. The evening entertainment kept the vibes going. Our favorite had to be, by far, the silent disco! We also participated in water aerobics with Nyah and had the BEST time! Remy always made sure to have the best smile (and laugh) at the bar! His drinks are amazing!
My husband surprised me and booked the Rejuvenate Romance Package for our anniversary. This came with candlelight dinner on the beach. This was one hiccup: we requested dinner in the sand and when we arrived, it was set up on the cabana. The staff quickly rearranged the setting for us and we had the best meal on the beach, watching the sun set. We also enjoyed a sunset cruise one afternoon and got to see the beautiful island while enjoying a bottle of bubbly! It was very relaxing and topped off our day.
Our last day there, we had the cabana on the beach and a couples scalp massage. Downside to the massage - the staff are required to wear gloves which kind of felt like sandpaper on our sunburnt skin. Daisy was amazing at showing up at just the right time for drink refills and food orders without feeling like she was hovering. Her recommendations for drinks and food were much appreciated! When I got a bunch of sand on the towels, she was quick to change out for new towels without a thought!
We also had many “photo shoots” with the Romance Package and Jayda captured amazing photos of us, making us laugh and relax through it all. (Note, we hate posing for pictures, so she was great at getting us to relax and enjoy the moment).
A few hiccups: Judy booked our all reserved dining that we requested . The night we were to eat at Kimonos, we arrived but they didn’t have a reservation for us (even though Judy had confirmed all our reservations). The husband was frustrated, but they were able to seat us quickly and we enjoyed the dinner with couples we had met at the pool earlier that day. With our Romance Package, we were to receive a bottle of Moet (which we never did get after checking multiple time - so we just gave up on that) and the chocolates we received - we found that the room staff took one of them. Oh well! The last hiccup was when departing. We were told to have our bags outside our room by 7:30am. We put them out at 7:15, went to get breakfast, and they were still there when we returned at 8:00. I called the desk and they said they would be picked up. At 8:45 we headed to the lobby for our 9:15 departure, and the bags were still there. When we got to the lobby, we asked and were told they would get picked up. Finally at 9:10, my husband ran back to the room to get them!
Our only “complaint” was the staff at the pool swim-up bar weren’t as “friendly” or on top of drinks as we would have liked. We would have to wave down staff, order drinks and many times the staff would leave and we’d have to ask another staff member for our drinks. When we tried to make small talk with them, they were not very engaging.
All-in-all, we had a great time (as we expected we would) and look forward to exploring another Sandals location soon.
Note: we’ve been to multiple locations - Jamaica in 2000 for our honeymoon, 2013 & 2014 to Turks & Caicos (Beaches with our kids), and 2025 St. Lucia for our 25th wedding anniversary.
Pictures: Our favorite picture Jayda captured in the hammock, the amazing staff we encountered, our beachfront candlelight dinner, and our cabana.

Having been to many Sandals resorts we found this location very nice. This is a beautiful resort on a long sandy very clean beach in a bay that helps protect it from wave action, which makes it nice for swimming, snorkeling and other water sports. We stayed in a butler suite with an ocean view and really liked the room. Lots of space for storage and nice amenities, also had a second bathroom. Overall service and restaurants were incredible. Wide variety of food and always asked about allergies. Laurin, at Bayside has to be mentioned as a truly exceptional employee and waitress. She was so friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu we had to ask if she had extra training through a culinary program. She did not and she explained her tenure with Sandals, since the resort’s opening, and her commitment to provide quality service to all guests. We did experience an issue at Bombay, Indian food, with very slow food service. This appeared to be a kitchen issue not wait staff since the food arrived hot and was tasty. Myself and half of the other couple we travelled with are certified divers. We dove every day of our 9 day trip and found the dive staff exceptional. Very professional but also very relaxed and engaging. Of particular note were Marcus/Joker, Rusty and boat captain Denelle. We also made use of the Red Lane Spa services multiple times. Rachel gives amazing deep tissue massage and always recognized us at various locations around the resort and engaged with us. Rachel took the time work up a program of service for our entire stay. While the divers were diving the other half of our party spent significant time at the pool and were attend to by our butlers, Jackie, Sabie, and Michelle. They made sure all needs were met and even provided food and drinks before the need to ask. Every day our room attendant, Roselle, left us a inspirational notes on our pillow. A touch of personal and thoughtful attention above and beyond expectations. The only drawback to this resort is the very long, 2 hour, drive from the airport. This does not detract from the exceptional friendly staff at the Grande St Lucian.

Set on its own private peninsula between the calm waters of Rodney Bay and the majestic mountains of Saint Lucia’s west coast, Sandals Grande St. Lucian is often called the “closest vacation to a postcard.” With its panoramic views, mile-long white-sand beach, and calm Caribbean waters, it’s a top pick for couples looking for luxury and beauty in equal measure.
This resort also features Saint Lucia’s only Overwater Bungalows, and offers full exchange privileges with nearby Sandals Regency La Toc and Sandals Halcyon Beach, giving guests access to 27 dining venues, 11 pools, and endless adventures.
Culinary & Amenities Highlights:
12 on-site restaurants with international flavors ranging from Indian to seafood to British pub fare
Access to Sandals’ Stay at One, Play at Three program with included transfers between resorts
5 pools, including a massive beachfront lagoon-style pool and 4 whirlpools
Free golf at Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club at Cap Estate and La Toc Golf Course
Why We Love It:
Unmatched 360-degree views of the Caribbean Sea and Gros Piton mountains
Romantic Rondoval Suites, Swim-up Suites, and the region’s only Overwater Bungalows
Water skiing, wakeboarding, snorkeling, and scuba diving—all included
Near Gros-Islet’s famous Friday Night street party for an authentic local vibe
Key Considerations:
Located 41 miles from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF); approximately a 1-hour scenic transfer included
Popular excursions like snorkeling, zip-lining, and mud baths in Soufrière should be booked early
Perfect for honeymooners and couples seeking a vibrant, yet relaxed romantic atmosphere
Pro Tip: For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, reserve an Overwater Bungalow or a beachfront Rondoval Suite with Butler Elite service.

Having heard so much about how exceptional Sandals was supposed to be we were expecting great things and to be wowed and sadly we weren’t.
Pros - nice setting with soft sand and beautiful views.
Water sports are good.
Crema for coffee, biscuits and ice cream is lovely.
Room- comfy bed and pillows,
Cons - resort very small and restrictive and we were advised not to walk outside the complex especially at night.
A few members of staff were quite rude, abrupt and unhelpful.
We downloaded the app but was unable to get it to work even after 3 trips to the Loyalty Desk.
Room - dust underneath bed (still there at checkout 10 days later)
Had to beg for toiletries and teabags
No umbrella in room and when I asked for one as it was raining, it was never delivered as promised
In room minibar not replenished for 3 days.
Drawers do not close properly
Restaurants - food on the whole was good but menus do not change and there are regularly dishes that are unavailable.
Bird poo on the stage in the main restaurant (still there when we left)
Beware birds will steal food from your plate whilst eating.
Bars - returning guests were often given preference in the queue.
Piano bar roof leaks badly and repairs are needed so choose your seat carefully when raining. Main bar also has a leaking roof.
Popular drinks often run out and the champagne is often served warm.
Entertainment - poor in the day but evening shows were good.
We don’t consider karaoke as entertainment and this seemed to be the main entertainment after 10 pm.
Pool areas - main pool has rap/dance music playing very loudly all day so it isn’t relaxing.
Pool tiles in need of repair as many are missing and there are scum marks around the edges so they could do with a good clean.
Sunbeds in the best positions on the beach and by the pools are reserved by Butlers for the privileged guests who don’t always used them until the afternoon. Unless you have a butler or get up very early (6am) it’s difficult to find ones with umbrellas or together if there is a group of you.
Rainwater not swept away which meant you were paddling through the puddles to get to/from your room in the evening.
We went to Beaches Resort 5$ per person each way and there were more choices of restaurants and better facilities there.
Summary - we would not return to this resort and would not consider any Sandals resort for future holidays.
We have experienced far superior cleanliness, service and facilities and paid a lot less that we paid for this holiday.

I generally never write reviews but this time I had to. The poor experience started at booking. I’ve been to this property last year and couldn’t wait to return again someday. Originally booked for Antigua this time, after finding out flights changed with an ungodly 14 hr lay over in and out back in Feb I called and switched back to this property. I was told I was going to get a refund for the flights to Antigua and needed to book new flights to Negril. The room at Negril was a little more money than Antigua so I needed to log on during the call and pay the $1600 for new flights on American Airlines and the room difference which if I’m correct was about $500. I was totally fine with this, I’m not looking for anything for free. During the call the agent quoted a price for the flights and came back less than 10 min later and said the price increased I argued and she said they could honor the price from 10 min prior. I was ok with that. A few weeks prior to arrival I discover flights were never booked! I had gotten an email from American Airlines at the end of the initial call with ticket numbers and flight record locator. When I called it was documented “you didn’t want to pay more for flights so no flight was booked”. How did I get confirmation from airline then. So during call #2 I needed to log on and pay another $950 for flights to MBJ. knowing calls are recorded I requested a call review. After multiple calls trying to get an answer I was told I didn’t over pay that 1600 was a room upgrade charge. WHAT?? I wold not have agreed to that. I just wanted this much needed vacation and after fighting some more finally got the refund from the Antigua flights. So I went to enjoy. The property is still nice, beach beautiful. But I was disappointed that management changed and it showed. The menus were not as delicious as last year the service not as good and I don’t need much service. As we booked a club level we mentioned our anniversary which was during the trip. And every time I called prior with the issues they repeated that they were aware of it. Anniversary came zero acknowledgment. We went to private candle lit dinner on break that day which was just ok. We were paired with Corey who was nice but green. We noted all the other tables were lit up with different colors. The candle on our table didn’t work no colors and the tiki torches didn’t work. He tried to relight them but I was like no worries. We were outta there in an hour flat. Back in the room I WhatsApp messaged the resort was apologized to for the lack of acknowledgment and didn’t even bother to complain about the candle lit dinner but as an act of good will the comped out for their error. Fine. Other issues: asked for DND sign 2x never came housekeeping didn’t come until evening but every single time I was in the shower there was a knock at my door or a phone ringing. I got out of the shower soaked and was like forget it. I called the night before to order breakfast room service for the following day. They were on time but order was incorrect. I ordered the smoked salmon and bagel with cream cheese. Also ordered mimosa. Got the fish but not the bagel nor drinks. Called to report so they were aware and was told they would bring it. I declined I just wanted to eat and get on with the day. As I’m eating a housekeeper popped over the divider from next door to scold as the room service person was at the door with the food. Ok I go answer. I got the drinks and a huge plate of bacon that I didn’t order no bagel no cream cheese. And this is why I declined bc I knew this would happen. Sat in the hut near the vendors on Friday. 2 male vendors got into a huge fight screaming at each other and I has to ask them to cool it. They apologized but seriously? Then while the walking vendors are normally no problem a woman who was clearly impaired literally came up to the hut 1 foot away from my face asking me to get her pizza bc she has no money. I refused and she huffed off. Security initially didn’t seem to understand my complaint but returned later to assure me it won’t happen again. She came back 3x. While I may seem disgruntled I’m not. I’m simply reporting this here bc for the amount of money I ended up spending the experience this time was really not what is expected. Here’s the kicker. 730 am day of departure needing to be at the desk to check out a guy came to room trying to do a survey. Yep I was in shower. Said not good time. If you wanted me to give you a 20/10 perhaps should have checked in with me earlier in trip. And he had the audacity to argue with me regarding the DND sign I never got is because I was stopped to use the button in the room to ask for privacy or service. Had to show him they didn’t work. His response “oh”I have more concerns but no more energy to write. Please take this feed back and improve. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be back.

Sandals Negril, Jamaica. My wife and I stayed for several nights and were extremely pleased, stepping through the light, airy and friendly atmosphere of the lobby. The staff throughout the resort were very courteous and professional, friendly and extremely helpful. They always greeted us with a smile and cheerfulness.
The room was spacious and well equipped with all the usual you'd expect, truly outstanding garden views with fresh smells of jasmine and lavender. Maids cleaned and dressed our room every day.
The 8 restaurants were amazing with lots of variety to choose from including the set menus. The best scenes overlook the sand and sea, and they all had a view for the sunset.
Our stay was truly overwhelming and just to name a few staff members that made our experiences a complete joy were staff like Simone the gardener, Trinia and Teiry-Ann J from the main restaurant, Jermaine the photographer, and Trinia making my delicious whisky sours and the Bob Marley rums, these are just some of the names I can remember. They all excelled and went above and beyond their duties for us to capture more great memories.
Hope to see you all soon again.

Great Staff, Great Restaurants - Guests Need to Step it Up
We have more than 200 nights with Sandals and have been to most of the properties. This property is going through a rejuvenation and has such potential.
Highs - Great staff. Excellent service. Super personable and engaging team.
Keith at the Piano bar took time to walk to the Crema to get espresso for my wife’s espresso martini. Many would have just used Khalua but he really made an effort to make a proper drink and it was delicious!
Philecia at Crema is so friendly and remembered me every morning. In spite of needing extra staff, she remains cheerful and engaged one on one with each guest.
Nicardo at the Barefoot made me the week’s best Bloody Mary at breakfast. He said he’s only been making them for a week but he made it so well and was so proud that it was made perfectly.
Charlton at the piano bar is the man to see during the day. Great cocktails and a friendly face. I got to know him well and he didn’t blink when I asked for a custom drink. He’s great!
Marion at piano bar/pool bar - Always with a smile.
Our butlers Romaine and Shanice were phenomenal. Didn’t miss a single thing on our preference sheet and added many extras that made this vacation very fun. Honestly they made the vacation for us.
The Lows -
Dress Code - In all of our travels I have never seen so many people not dressed properly for dinner.
Sandals has “relaxed” the dress codes, which I think is a huge mistake. I cannot recount ever seeing men wearing swimming trunks and t-shirt to dinner. We saw that multiple times here, and not only at the “casual” restaurants. We even saw a man wearing pants and NO SHIRT at the main bar one evening. Of course, their wives were all dressed beautifully.
Gentlemen, please make an effort. Put on a collared shirt and a pair of nice shorts. Your wives are making an effort. Don’t insult her.
Smoking Areas - There were three on the entire property. All of them were built like bus stops with very uncomfortable benches and no chairs. For those of us that enjoy a cigar every evening it would be wonderful to have an area where there are many comfortable chairs to relax with a cigar. I was also irritated at all of the people vaping in the bars, on the beach and in the restaurants. I don’t know why these people feel as if the rules don’t apply to them.
Number of restaurants - they really need to add one or two places, specifically one or two with air conditioning. Yes we went in May, but the heat is inescapable here. I would hope for one central place for everyone to gather after dinner. The main restaurant and main bar are what is used and the whole experience is disjointed.
Overall we enjoyed the property. Would we return? Likely. Would we hurry to return? Not so much.

We recently returned to Sandals South Coast for a 3rd time. Despite running into several issues (slow check- in process, non functional safe, …..), the manager team did reach out to resolve the issue in a timely matter. The staff is what makes this resort our favorite. Even the resort manager got in touch with us after our stay and came up with a satisfactory solution. We already plan on going back in Dec ‘25 and April ’26.

Finally got to visit South Coast again after 10 years. There have been a lot of changes. This resort is perfect spot for Sunrises and Sunsets, with all rooms (with exception of Rondovals) having an oceanfront view. We have the DJS room. It's well spread out but never feels over crowded. I do miss being able to walk along the water's edge for the full length of the beach but understand the need to stop beach erosion. Pool chairs definitely fill up fast but there were always spots on the beach as there are also trees providing shade. All staff were friendly. Some folks to highlight were Melisa (Cabana Butler) She brought us a great Jamaican lunch the day we had the Cabana. Brent and Natalie at the spa did wonders. Lorenzo and Chuck at Neptunes bar were so entertaining. Careca at Guiseppes provided great service even though he was completely rushed off this feet. (Later learned they were short at least 2 folks that night) Remember you are on Island time - Just get another drink and enjoy being in paradise.

We stayed at Sandals South Coast for a wedding and, based on the reputation of the Sandals brand, expected more. The property is pretty and the staff are kind, with a useful app for communication — but overall, the experience was underwhelming.
The wedding was poorly managed: staff were still removing decorations from a previous ceremony as guests arrived, the cocktail hour wasn’t set up on time, and the reception chairs were being moved while guests were already present — some even helped clean up after they were dropped. When it rained, it took too long to move indoors, though the indoor setup was nicely done as an effort to recover from earlier missteps. The food was so slow and it just did not taste good.
Sadly, the disorganization and lack of professionalism stood out. I wouldn’t recommend this resort for a wedding or vacation.
Finally the food, underwhelming. The best places that we were able to eat was the jerk shack. We couldn’t get reservations for the restaurants as they were already booked.

This was my 30th sandals vacation so I love sandals. The grounds were well kept pools are amazing restaurants were really good people at the resort were very nice the night was a little slow so just hang at the Neptune bar it’s really good and bartenders are funny as hell good times .But now the bad part the butlers reserve all the best pool and beach chairs the night before so if your not out there claiming chairs by 5:30-6 am good luck spoke with the experience manager and he said would look into but nothing changed so I wish they would get more chairs or make it a butlers only because if you don’t have a butler, it makes you feel a little bit not that important just my opinion I have seen this other sandals resort just not at this level but I love sandals and will be back to more great resorts they have .🍻

The food was incredible. Bacon with rhum Maple syrop each morning. Fresh fruits each day (and God were they good!!!!)
We ate at all of the différent restaurants (they have a wide range of food), and we never once had a bad expérience….all good Man!
We reserved a room with swim out pool…..we fall in love once again!
The conciergerie was there to assist us all week long.
Its a place with no kids. Si Very pleasant to relax and spend quality Time with your spouse.

My wife and I traveled to Sandals Halcyon Beach for our 25th wedding anniversary. This was our first Sandals experience. We booked the JB room category for reference if that helps. Spending that kind of money comes with a certain level of expectations, and I wondered if the experience would live up to my high expectations. Let me put that to bed very early in this review.....Sandals Halcyon Beach exceeded and blew away those expectations. From the very moment we arrived and was greeted with a cold wash cloth and a warm and friendly welcome song. Our butler, Willard, greeted and walked us to our room and gave us a site tour so we would know where everything was located. The JB room category gave us incredible privacy as well as breath taking views of the beach. I almost booked the ground floor that had a small pool, but I am so glad I booked the 2nd floor suite as the views were a great trade off and the stairs weren't a big deal at all. One of the highlights of our anniversary day there was another one of our butlers, Vito, drew a bubble bath on our deck for my wife. She enjoyed the tranquility along with some champagne and a chocolate covered fruit tray. The resort is one of the smaller Sandals resorts, but I was extremely happy with the restaurants that were offered as well as the evenings entertainment. Nightly drinks at the main bar was incredible and Vince always made us the most wonderful and colorful drinks. The resort itself was amazing, but it really was the attentive, amazing, hardworking staff that made the difference for us. We had 3 butlers for the week and I want to say a major and sincere thank you to Willard, Vito, and Samantha for making us feel like we were the most important guests on the property. After getting a few of our drink orders, they quickly knew what we liked and always brought us drinks on the beach as if they knew when we were ready for another. The entire service was more than worth it, our butler team secured premier seating at both the pool and beach, secured our desired dinner spots and times, served us many times room service for breakfast and the aforementioned drinks no matter where we were located on property. We took advantage of a beachside, oceanfront dinner on the beach on our anniversary night. During that time we also had our own photography session and the photography staff was great and the pictures we will cherish, they turned out great. We took advantage of two separate excursions. The Sunset Piton Snorkel Cruise was amazing. Plenty of drinks and appetizers were a great touch. The views of the island and getting to see other communities were great, and obviously seeing the Pitons didn't disappoint. We also went to the Friday night street party in town. So many wonderful local food and shopping vendors. We had some great local seafood at Duke's and enjoyed dancing in the streets to the great music. I would certainly highly recommend Sandals Halcyon Beach, it was everything we could have asked for and more. Thank you to everyone there who made our trip a once in a lifetime experience. We look forward to the day we can book another stay there.

This was the second visit in 2 years to this beautiful resort. The Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The food at all the restaurants was excellent, Kelly's for a slightly more formal, though still relaxed evening meal was great. As we were on the resort for 2 weeks we tried a good many of the choices, and only on one occasion did I have was a slightly sub standard meal - this could just have been the choice I made.
We visited both other resorts, The Grande for an Indian meal, and La Toc for the Caribbean restaurant, both very good, however it was always nice to get back to the Halcyon, a smaller and more intimate resort.
On the entertainment front, we particularly enjoyed the Country night, as we had on our previous visit. There was also a very good female singer on one night. My wife loved the silent disco, which was quite amusing to watch from a distance. The Michael Jackson impressionist was definitely not for us, though others seemed to enjoy this.
Service was generally excellent, though on 2 occasions when we went to Kelly's for breakfast it was very slow and on one of the visits we left before we had even seen anyone. Having said that it should not detract from the great service we received overall. A particular mention should go to Kenny and Chris who provided excellent service to us again on this return visit. All the staff were just so friendly, Karim and Avelon at the pool bar, Francis, Junior and Nathalie in the Bayside, Jyan at the burger bar. I think it is only fair to also mention Sharon, the General Manager, who was always out and about checking on guests, being very responsive to any requests.
We had a brilliant holiday again, and would strongly recommend to anyone.

Celebrated our 15yr wedding anniversary after honeymooning at the Sandals Grande location in 2010. We did take the opportunity to shuttle to the Grande to hike Pigeon Island, like we did on our honeymoon, but we were glad to pick Halcyon this time around. Both properties are great, but the Halcyon is more quiet and less crowded. You have the opportunity to get to know the staff and feel like you’re staying in a home instead of a hotel. The staff was all around great. Especially Kareem who worked at the poolside bar. He was genuinely kind, took the time to get to know us and made sure we were well taken care of. Kareem had a wealth of knowledge about St Lucia, Sandals and the Lesser Antilles islands. He created friendships instead of the usual customer service. While on property we took the opportunity (and discounts) to book our next vacation at Beaches so we can take the kids.

My wife and I stayed at Sandals Regency La Toc for a week, and it was one of the most relaxing and romantic vacations we’ve had. The setting is stunning, lush greenery, dramatic cliffs, and panoramic views of the Caribbean. If you’re looking to escape into a private paradise, this is the place.
We stayed in a butler-level suite and were absolutely blown away, not just by the room itself (which was gorgeous and had a private plunge pool), but by the incredible service from our butler(s). From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like royalty. They greeted us with champagne, unpacked our bags, reserved the best dinner tables, set up private beach loungers, and even surprised us with a romantic, candlelit bubble bath. They were always one step ahead, anticipating our needs before we even voiced them. It was easily the highlight of our trip and added a level of personalized care that made everything feel effortless and extra special.
A warm thank you to Titus for taking such good care of us, you made our trip unforgettable. Your attentiveness, kindness, and attention to detail made us feel truly special.

The young bartender Khimberley is extremely devoted to her clients and always had a smile, she is a sweetheart. She was the most significant staff for us all week, always of service. Nataly the Night Manager, so very helpful. The sweet Heylainn from the bar too. Also Ezekiel the trapeze entertainment beautiful human being, we had heartfelt conversations.
Because of them, we will absolutely return and will recommend this resort to our friends and family. We loved every minute of our time at Sandals Royal Curaçao.

We visited this resort in May to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and every aspect of our stay was truly exceptional. The grounds are breathtaking, the rooms were pristine, and the food was absolutely delicious. However, what made our experience truly unforgettable was the staff — the heart and soul of this resort.
Their dedication to outstanding service went above and beyond. No request was too small, and every interaction felt warm and genuine.
A special thank you to Ms. Charmaine for her daily cheerful smiles and for keeping our room immaculate throughout our stay.
To our incredible butlers — Christus, Jean Paul, and Hind — whom we fondly call our dream team — thank you for all the thoughtful touches. From the surprise floating breakfast to the regular check-in calls and daily in-room treats, your care made us feel so special.
We’d be remiss not to mention Mr. Miguel Angelo, whose surprise was one of the most memorable moments of our trip. We will never forget it.
While the resort itself is stunning, the rooms luxurious, and the food outstanding — it’s the exceptional staff that made our stay truly magical. Because of them, we will absolutely return and will recommend this resort to our friends and family.

Scuba diving, sunset catamaran cruises, and curated local excursions
Largest reception space of any Sandals resort—perfect for weddings and large gatherings
The tranquil setting offers a slower pace for couples who want to explore more and relax deeply
Key Considerations:
25-minute transfer from Curaçao International Airport (CUR); scenic and stress-free
Popular excursions (Klein Curaçao, Willemstad tours, sunset cruises) book quickly—reserve in advance
Best for couples looking for rich culture, privacy, and an upscale, low-tourism experience
Pro Tip: Book a Kurason Island Poolside Butler Bungalow for swim-up access, a soaking tub for two, and a MINI Cooper to explore the island at your leisure.

Great stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean. We love the relaxed and chill vibe at this resort. There’s construction going on but they minimize impacts on guests. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The staff here are so friendly. Each and everyone not only greets you but also checks to see if you are having a good time. We had fantastic butler service by Sherry-Ann, Joslyn and Kish. They took great care of us each day at the beach with special surprises added in (on the beach and in our room). Their service made our trip special and we loved the pampering. Also want to give shout out to Joy, Criss Anne and Jada at Royal Thai. We had 2 great dining experiences there-food was great, service by these ladies excellent. Overall, we had great meals at all the restaurants. Check out Cricketers for after dinner drinks. The bartender, JC, brings the fun and will make your drink just the way you like it. Don’t miss the Red Lane Spa. Keron and Chantana were responsible for an over the top Night Blooming Jasmine couples massage. If you haven’t done this massage, try it. It was the best we’ve had (and we’ve tried most of the ones offered at the Sandals resorts and they’ve all been great). We also give a huge shout out to Dawn Smith, the GM. She runs a superb resort with outstanding staff that makes all the difference to your experience. She takes time to walk around the resort and greet guests and lunch with SSG members. We are returning guests and look forward to future stays at this resort.

We spent our second wedding anniversary at Sandals Royal Caribbean & had the best time! We got SO lucky to meet Quewayne, he helped out my husband who spent most of his day time fishing the private island and constantly checked in on me while I was sunbathing & brought us the best lemonades, he found us everyday & made sure we got the best experience we could get. He was such a big part of making our stay great, we did not want to leave! We stayed in the Windsor building which we definitely recommend as you get great views of the sunrise & sunset without having to leave the room. The nightly entertainment could use some revamping as we were hoping to get the entertainment we got at Sandals Royal Bahamian. We loved the breakfast & lunch buffets at Spices. There is plenty of wildlife to watch around the resort between the birds, stingrays, fish & crabs. A lot of the resort was under construction so it was not packed witch made it so easy to experience everything the resort had to offer.

Located just minutes from Montego Bay’s airport, the resort is famous for its private offshore island—accessible by dragon boat—featuring an authentic Thai restaurant, a secluded beach, and overwater hammocks.
This boutique-style resort also introduced the first Overwater Villas and Bungalows in the Caribbean, complete with glass floor panels, soaking tubs, and Butler Elite service. Guests also enjoy full access to nearby Sandals Montego Bay through the Stay at One, Play at Two program, expanding the experience to 21 restaurants and 12 bars.
Culinary & Amenities Highlights:
8 on-site restaurants, including French fine dining, Thai cuisine, and an authentic jerk shack
7 pools and 5 whirlpools, plus swim-up bars and a beachfront infinity pool
Overwater Latitudes Bar, offering 360° water views with fire pits and swings
British-style touches like afternoon tea, croquet lawns, and cricket games
Why We Love It:
Private island escape just offshore—ideal for couples craving seclusion and exclusivity
Night swims in Jamaica’s Luminous Lagoon, where bioluminescent waters glow around you
Luxury Overwater Bungalows with glass floors, personalized butlers, and ocean hammocks
Complimentary scuba diving, water sports, and daily entertainment
Key Considerations:
Only a 10-minute transfer from Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ)
Book popular excursions like Martha Brae river rafting and catamaran cruises in advance
Best for couples who want a mix of exotic features with short, easy travel time
Pro Tip: Stay in an Overwater Villa for the ultimate romantic escape—complete with infinity plunge pool, see-through floor, and 24-hour room service.

Fabulous week at Montego Bay! This was our second stay in Jamaica. The first was South Coast in October. SC had a much bigger and better buffet, but the restaurants at MB were great, especially Butch’s and the Italian restaurant. The snorkeling at MB was the best we’ve done anywhere (Dominican Republic, Cancun, South Coast). We went every day. We even had four HUGE spotted eagle rays swim under us one day.
I saw reviews where some people complained about airplane noise, but honestly that didn’t bother us one bit. It only lasted a second and nothing at night. The first night we were there the music was loud until around 11 or 12, but the rest of the nights were quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Jameela, Christopher, and Jeromy. The only exception was the gift shop ladies at both MB and Royal Caribbean (which you can take the shuttle to). Both ladies were almost comically rude.
The rooms were nice and beds comfortable. The beach was gorgeous and ocean was free of seaweed both in October and this time in May. The sunsets are unbeatable. We appreciated having pickleballl courts to get some exercise.

This is our first-ever stay at a Sandals resort—Montego Bay—and we chose it to celebrate our honeymoon. Overall, it has been a truly wonderful experience so far.
The absolute highlight of our trip has been the entertainment team and a few standout staff members who went above and beyond to make our stay special. Demario (aka Super Mario) was the heart of our vacation—he brought incredible energy, led fun beach games, danced with guests, and took the time to have real conversations. By the end of the trip, I didn’t just see him as part of the staff, but as a true friend. Lady J, Crazy Chris, and Shania were also fantastic—talented, warm, and so much fun to be around. Every show and activity they led was a blast and made each day exciting.
The nightly shows have been absolutely great—fun, high-energy, and well put together. The DJs have also been excellent, keeping the vibes going and making every evening feel like a party.
Jordan was another standout—we absolutely loved him. His saxophone performances were nothing short of amazing. His talent and kindness added something truly special to our evenings. And Leonardo, our favorite bartender, not only made incredible drinks but was also a genuinely great guy—always welcoming and fun to chat with.
That said, not all staff members were very friendly. Some didn’t seem happy to be there and carried a negative demeanor, occasionally coming off as rude. This was disappointing, especially considering the high standards Sandals is known for.
We’ve also found the dining experience a bit lacking. The food has been just okay—nothing to write home about. Breakfast restaurants open later than ideal for early risers. In fact, I’m actually writing this review while I wait for somewhere to open for breakfast. Lunch options are also limited, as most restaurants only open for dinner, which makes daytime dining feel repetitive and restricted.
Despite those few issues, the incredible staff members we mentioned made our vacation unforgettable. Their energy, kindness, and dedication to guest experience truly made all the difference. We’re so glad we chose Sandals for our first all-inclusive experience!

We spent two weeks at this resort as part of my husbands 50th Birthday celebration and had an amazing time.
We had Butler service in Crystal Lagoon Ocean View and had Butler service , have to say Danesha and Asha were amazing booking all our restaurants bringing us snacks and drinks and just giving us a great vibe to our holiday.
Our room was lovely just opposite the piano bar (swim up pool) and we spent most of our time on our sunbeds just on the beach on the side of said swim up bar so had the best of both worlds with the beach the seas the pool and the bar all in touching distance.
Restaurants - the breakfast buffet was always good with all the usual options (Great Coffee). For evening meals we tried all the restaurants and all were good although Soy (shout out to Joel and Brittany) was our favourite closely followed by Tokyo Joes although can’t say we had a bad meal whilst here.
Entertainment was varied some nights quieter than others but always something going on from steel drums on the beach (silver birds were excellent) to the amazing Tasha (vocalist) and the sax player (didn’t catch his name). Stash always kept us entertained as host to many events / entertainment.
We spent one day over at the Royal Carribean but preferred where we were at Montego Bay as it just felt a better set up.
Shout out to the various ground keepers and cleaners always on the go making sure everything is as clean and tidy as it could be.

My visit was at the request of a friend to attend the wedding of her son. I had no idea what to expect at an all inclusive resort and was blown away. The resort was clean, food was abundant and tasty, staff were extremely friendly and the shows were well performed and fun. While much of the staff I interacted with was friendly and few must be called out by name; the beautiful butterfly Davia and her singer colleague Tasha, who by the way has an incredible singing voice, had me participating in several events! The many interactions with Lady J and crazy Christopher were equally amazing. All had me forgetting about the life I have back home for a few days! A final shoutout goes to the friendly and pleasant housekeeper Pauline who made sure my room was clean l, with fresh towels and making sure my needs were being addressed. Thank you Sandals and staff for making my visit memorable and amazing.

My husband and I visited for our honeymoon in April. It was our first time at a Sandals resort and we were blown away! The resort itself is so beautiful, and you can tell they make such an effort to keep everything clean and nice. Never had to wait for long for a drink anywhere, food was lovely, and some lovely romantic add ons to choose from to make it special!
Some points that I saw in other reviews that I think are worth addressing:
There are 2 parts to this resort, they're basically two completely different resorts, divided by a main road. One is on the beach and has the lower level accomodation, and the hillside has the club/butler level accomm so its a bit more luxury. We actually booked to be on the beachside as we saw reviews about it being annoying getting between resorts, but we actually got upgraded to be on the hillside and im so glad we did. The room was gorgeous. Only downside is getting from some of the accomodation on the hillside to the main lobby/pools on the hillside, you have to call to request a golf cart to take you (its only a 5-10 min walk though), and we did find this was a bit unreliable. It would be fine if you had a butler as they drive you between places, however we didnt so we did actually ask if we could move accomodation closer to the lobby/pools of the hillside, and they actually gave us an even nicer room still on the hillside but right next to the lobby/pools which was so perfect.
Its super easy to get between hillside and beachside resort, there is a shuttle between them every 10 mins. The bus stop has water and lovely sofas, so was never an issue and they never ran late.
We did worry we would be away from the main stuff on the hillside but the hillside resort has just as much as the beach resort, a beautiful main pool, restaurants and entertainment, so it doesnt matter what resort you're on, you'll just plan your day around which half you want to be on that day!
Excursions:
We did the blue lagoon excursion, and power boat snorkelling trip. The lagoon experience in my opinion wasnt really worth it. Its a gamble on the day how much they actually glow so it was a bit underwhelming. It was a 45-1hr drive from the resort, and then an hour of waiting around and then the actual swimming bit is only 15 mins or so.
The power boat snorkelling trip was amazing, couldnt recommend that enough.
The shopping excursion was a huge waste of time, they made it sound like you would be going to a shopping centre but it was actually 4 stops of tourist/souvenirs shops that all sold the exact same thing. Good for getting all your souvenirs, we just didnt realise it would be 100% that.
Snorkelling:
The resort can take you to a snorkelling spot that is included (they include equipment too) but we actually found that snorkelling in the 3 sections of private beach where all the sunloungers are were actually the best spots to see stuff!
Golf:
If you're wanting to golf, it may be cheaper bringing your own clubs. It cost us around 130 to hire clubs and for the caddy (you have to have one if its your first time)
Food was lovely, lots of variety and a different place to go almost every day!
Staff were so lovely, cant do enough for you.
We also did the candelit dinner on the beach which I would highly recommend, that was so memorable. Cant wait to go to another sandals resort one day!

Our trip to Sandals Grande Antigua was incredible the sandy beaches were stunning, with soft golden sand and clear blue waters that felt like a dream. One of the highlights was the Resort Shop, meeting Sophie and Alexandra but Alexandra stood out to us. Her warm smile, friendly attitude, and helpful nature truly stood out. She helped us pick out clothes, including a Sandals bag and a few gifts like hot sauces and English Harbour Rum (we took home four bottles!). She even shared the history behind the rum, which made it all the more special. What really amazed us was how she remembered our names, even with all the guests she meets daily. Alexandra made us feel right at home, and we even recommended her to our friends one of them bought a Tommy Bahama dress thanks to her! Alexandra, you did your big one. Thank you for making our trip exceptional!

We stayed at Sandals Grande Antigua in March 2025 as part of our 40th wedding anniversary celebrations. This is an excellent destination and resort for your special trip, from the surroundings of the resort, the quality of the rooms and the restaurants on offer, all of which were beyond our expectations. One of the key aspects which make this resort is the staff, who go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Special mention for Joy at the smaller pool swim up bar who lived up to her name and Sofia at Barefoot restaurant and our room attendant Cherri, but in truth all staff we came across deserve credit for the work they do and their friendliness.
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening entertainment which was of a high standard and the excursions we took to see as much of the island as we could. All in all a perfect stay, we will be back!!

This resort should be revamped to avoid giving the Sandals brand a terrible name. I’ll try to keep this brief since I usually don’t write reviews but I could NOT leave this unknown. The hospitality at this resort was the most unwelcoming and disgusting I’ve experienced thus far and I’ve traveled to a lot of countries/resorts. The front desk and butlers are great but everyone who works in the restaurants are so ridiculous it’s their attitudes. Our first night was at Chi and the waitress (Susan) set the tone of the worst hospitality. She took long to come to our table, we understand they may get busy but 20mins to greet a table without anyone updating us is not ok. When she finally came over she was obviously annoyed and from then on she was irritated if we asked about anything. We wanted to eat and just leave immediately.
I have one question, were you forced to work food service or did you willingly apply and pursue this position? Because most of them behave as if they’re being forced to be there. They grudgingly do anything you may ask of them, as if you’re bothering them. The wait time for food orders are UNBELIEVABLY LONG and to add insult to injury, the waiters/waitresses frequently forget what you ordered. When you remind them, you’re met with an attitude of annoyance once again. Don’t even bother ordering room service as an alternative because the food will also arrive 3hrs later or won’t at all. The food itself is not that good, I’m Guyanese and Bajan so I have a pretty good idea of what Caribbean food should taste like. When we ate at the chophouse there was a baby roach crawling around our table and on the salt and pepper bottles.
Housekeeping will come and clean but just enough to it looks clean surface wise. They will also frequently forget basic things like changing the bathroom garbage and replacing towels. (I truly don’t understand this one because the same thing is being done for every room so how can you forget?)
A good portion of the beach is open to the public so there will be a handful of locals that sell fruit (coconut or mango) , which is nice to have specially if you’re having a beach day. However, there are locals that just come to make conversation and ease their way into asking for money, which adds to the bigger picture of this resort being so below average and not luxury whatsoever.
When you are finally checking out and leaving, that’s the time the staff is miraculously early and on time and seem to be rushing you out. My fiancé and I were called about 4 times within an hour to ask if we want our bags taken down and what time are we leaving. We asked if they can come in 15-20 mins to pick up bags and we were told if it’s not right now we will have to bring it down ourselves. Just for more background, we had the butler elite room and paid anatomical amount of money for the services that came along with that room, but was told this at the end of our stay.
Honestly, if you don’t care for any of these things then go ahead and book this resort. The weather is beautiful for the most part and the entertainment is nice. But I would advise to not pay a ridiculous amount to stay here with the hopes of a dreamy vacation, or just don’t go at all.

We have just spent ten days at Sandals Barbados
My husband and I have travelled a lot and this place is just WOW.
The food has been amazing, such a high standard in every restaurant.
The staff could not be any more helpful. All the staff are polite, happy and make you feel so welcome.
The grounds are just beautiful with chickens, a few cute cats, birds and cheeky monkeys.
Staff work so hard to keep the grounds just perfect
We have felt totally safe in Barbados. Even while being off hotel grounds.
The weather app looked like it was going to rain the whole time we were here but we have had two days of very small showers that lasted a minute or two.
There has been a welcome cloud cover at times which without I think I would have found too hot so has suited us.
I hope all of you coming to this hotel have the best holiday as we have! It’s a very special place 🥰

Well well well we just came back from one of the best vacations we ever took at Sandles Barbados . We landed found the sandles booth and then it was a 30 min ride to the resort . Our bus driver Ricardo was amazing he told us about so many facts about the island.
We get to sandles and check in with club sandles select team they said our room wasnt ready yet. No problem we went to eat dinos pizza and change our cloths . Once our room wad ready we checked it out . One amazing view of the beach we had .
We decided to explore the resort to do our own resort tour . We were quite happy to see how close the two hotels are togeather.
The restraurants were really good . Sconers meal was good but it took a while for the food to come out . Americain tavern was amazing for breakfast sometimes their would be a line to get seated . Well worth the wait . Great slection of food . Neptunes was a really good lunch option the bollognaise was really tasty. The french restraurant was oh k the view was amazing. Mariners was a really good lunch option fries to die for . Butches chop house was really good great slection of food on the menu. Then the most amazing place at the resort was the merry monkey pub the manager by the name of Jack was my favorite . The peach crumbler was to die for. Portifinos had the best meatballs.
The beach to get a seat as I would say front row joes u need to get up anywhere from 0600 to 0645 most likely . Make sure you bring towel clips really windy. We were there for 7 nights 8 days make sure u bring tons of sunscreen we went through 7 bottles. The beach is a nice beach to walk on . From time to time the locals will try to bother you pay no mind to them . The cabanas were free at the quite pool next to the royal house make sure u get up early to claim a spot.
The bar temders were some of the best people to see every day . Johnoy at the rum bar really good guy . Tashon was an amazing bar tender at the royal house lobby bar . Che also was a great bartender. Sandles Barbadoes should be so lucky to have these bar tenders working for them dealing with the amazing guest day in and day out.
Shane Paul and the entertainment team had everyone moving and groving. The Dj did a good job of mixing music. They also had great events going on from day to day.
Lovers lane was so much fun make sure you get there from 3 to 630 cause bowling comes at a first come basis . Also make sure you bring socks to ne able to bowl. At night time the two places that are rocking is lovers lane and the monkey pub.
The end of the trip was quite confusing as when the front dest had us itentfying our luggage witch we did. It almost wasnt put on the truck. Thank god they have a good roll call system .

This resort is absolutely beautiful!! We had a walk out room very close to Cafe De Paris.... Well, LUCKY US!! Everything in the Cafe is Delicioous!!!! Rooms are exactly what you need, beds are comfy. Bathroom needs a little TLC, but OK. Everyone is friendly on and off resort. Barbados is a very safe and friendly island. I wish there was more of a variety of nightly shows. The only bad food experience we had was a the Merry Monkey.... SLOW service and food was below average. Butch's and Kimono's were our absolute favorires!! Spices for breakfast was the BEST. Sweet girl took our picture every day after we ate. Service, our room service girl was not on her A game, 2 times she took our towels and forgot to leave any fresh ones. Had to call front desk to get more. NOW, the photo services were AMAZING, or should I say Dwayne was the BEST!! Very attentive, great photos, fun and eager to take our pics. "D" man as we nicknamed him gave us so many great memories with our photos. We bought the entire package. Now, the girls at the pool bar, AMAZING!! KASHEIRA OMG she had the best attitude, laugh and drinks 🙂 I am so sorry I can't remember all their names. THEY know who they are(Slim-Shady). They made every day feel like we were at our home away from home. Cleanliness was superb, except for the poop the chickens left on our porch, BUT, I guess that's what we get for feeding them! Chad brought us on the hobi cat, GREAT time!!!! ALL in ALL if we evr repeat a Sandals it would be to oBarbados!!
Thank You Sandals Barbados, my huband and I had the best time....

Not Worth the $$ Why is there a towel issue? If you're hoping for nightlife this isn't your place.

We had high hopes for our stay at Sandals Barbados to celebrate my 50th birthday. Sadly, Sandals did not live up to those hopes. I have always thought of Sandals as a high end brand, but had never really committed to staying at one because the cost was always too high. The one thing I would give high remarks on would be the food. We typically stay at 4.5 - 5 star resorts in Mexico and find the food is always bland and mediocre. Every meal that we had - including the International Buffet at lunch time - was very good. Although getting reservations to the restaurants was near impossible which didn't make any sense except for the Hibachi tables. Every restaurant that we passed or did have a reservation to was only at maybe 1/4 capacity. Maybe it is a staffing issue and they don't have enough staff to work the tables, but when you are turned away by concierge stating the reservations are full, I would encourage you to stop into the actual restaurant and see if you can be seated - we did and every time it worked. We stayed in a club level ocean view room on the basic side. The room was fine - nothing great for the price. The bathroom had lots of rust and breakdown around the toilet which was gross. But there was a MAJOR towel issue!!! In fact one day our room was cleaned super early - like 8:30 AM and all of our towels including the floor mat were taken and not replaced. At 1:45 PM we tried calling housekeeping with no answer. So we walked to the Concierge lounge and asked for them to intervene. By 8:30 PM we still did not have any towels! We had to shower without one single way to dry off. And it wasn't like we could have used a pool towel because those were gone from every pool AND concierge and our bathrobes were never replaced after they got soaking wet from the rain on the terrace. The pool near our building was always very dirty with junk from the trees and more. It was only cleaned in the early AM and so gross to even go in. If you are hoping for great entertainment, then this is not your place. There is zero night life or shows. The app is crap and wasn't even correct on what was happening each night. Most bars close by 10 pm except for the Merry Monkey which is open later. We ate at the Merry Monkey upon arrival and right when they opened at 5 pm. It took 45 mins to get our food which was mozzarella sticks and poutine. 45 mins and we were the 2nd order in when it opened. The level of alcohol is NOT top shelf which for the cost should be. We voiced our concerns multiple times to the Concierge who's response was always - oh, that's not typical for ... We spoke to so many people at this resort who are loyal Sandals Resort followers. I'm not sure they have stayed at a cheaper yet higher end resort in Riviera Maya like The Haven or El Dorado which for the same number of nights is 1/3 the cost with airfare included! We did the math and our room was $1,135 per night and we purchased airfare separately. That's insane for the maybe 2.5 - 3 star Sandals Barbados Resort.

Vacationed for the first time at a Sandals Resort, 16 May to 21 May at Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort. This is our 3rd All Inclusive (Live Aqua Cancun, Beaches Negril Jamaica). We were pleasantly surprised at how efficient the transfer from the Airport was. The Booth is in the Airport, and they greet you will a nice cold water and only waited about 5 minutes before loading up and going to the Resort. The bus took 15 minutes, and the bus driver explained some rules and interesting things about Bahamas along the way. Once at the Resort you go the front desk and they give you a glass of Champagne, cold towel and welcome you. They will let you know if your room is ready and issue you a card to get into your room. A representative will walk you to your room and tell you more about the Resort. Your bags will be brought to your room, and you can start your vacation. We are foodies and Sandals have some nice cuisine. We enjoyed Le Plume, the Steakhouse, Tesoro, and the food trucks. Breakfasts are generally the same, but they add different meats and some different fruits each day. You will need to stay on top of reservations which you can request at 9 am. Tersoro which is not a reserved restaurant was our favorite. The Anti Pasta bar and their menu choices were excellent. Seating and service were fast and no wait. Very efficient and friendly service. We reserved the cheapest rooms and we stayed in the Garden Villas. It was spacious and roomy, the beds were ok, not great. They stocked the bar everyday, and they cleaned our room everyday at least once. Very quiet area of the resort and secluded which we liked, no loud noises. The Pools were great, you will need to get there early to reserve your spot. The Pool Bars open at 10am so we enjoyed the pool in the mornings and then left our afternoon opens. The Island was fun, but you will need to get to the pier early about 30-45 minutes before the departure times. The boats take 40 people at the time and the first group gets dibs on the best lounge areas but there are plenty if you miss the first boat. The Island has a pool, bar, and restaurant. The restaurant was excellent. Designated smoking areas are in several places. The day before you depart you will get a letter that tells you your check out time and to place your bags outside of your room for pick up. You will then go to the front desk and wait for the shuttle to take you to the airport. We left at 7:30am to the airport so the restaurants open when we left but the food truck has pastries and drinks to hold you over. Overall, we enjoyed Sandals and would return here in the Bahamas. Excellent service, plenty to do, great food, very friendly and relaxing. I would recommend this resort to anyone going to the Bahamas. Thank your Sandals for a wonderful vacation.

Room was small then advertised. We had the butler private pool bungalow. This was our Honeymoon that we had been saving up for. This is the good, the bad and the ugly!!!! Outdoor patio plastic chairs were uncomfortable, no room to walk around any furniture as well the 2 dining room chairs that when you sat in them your head was table level. Requested different chairs for the dining table and were told they not change out. They brought us extra cushions to sit on. Candlelight dinner ($200) was overrated due to service was poor and entrée was not edible. So over cooked that even the lobster was so rubbery that couldn’t be cut with a knife (they did give us a $100 credit towards our room for that). Sunset cruise was ruined by BahMar passengers 50+ high school senior trip accompanying us with the 8 couples from Sandals. Not accommodate by telling us before hand, would have selected a different time. Nothing Sandals could do cause it’s a 3rd party even though we booked through the Sandals app. Let’s talk about room service! We had a standing order to receive a pot of coffee every morning at 5:30am. 2 mornings good, 2 mornings recvd 1/2 a pot of cold coffee (no one ever answers the phone at room service, just letting you know) and 1 morning coffee was never delivered. When Bulter was told they always just apologized. Food was always pretty good except 2 times we ordered hamburgers from room service and they were burnt. Dinner reservations were hard to come by even with a Butler. I think without our Butler we would have never gotten in a restaurant. Seating around the pool and on the beach was very limited for the guest that didn’t have a butler. The sandals private island was super nice and relaxing, snorkeling cruise and pig excursion was nice. Go visit, Avis for your tours, she’s a delightful soul. One afternoon came to our room with a man had drained our pool for repairs. Couldn’t use it until the next morning. For the most part it was a decent property but the level of service and quality was not worth the $15,000 that we sent for 8 days and 7 night on just the room and excursions. My husband did receive exemplary and professional service for the the dive team And Wenzel the instructor was fantastic!!! My husband left his EarPods in our room when we checked out and just about an 1 hour after he noticed, went back to look for them, the room as already been cleaned and no earpods were found. Location on his phone said that they were near, only can assume the the cleaning lady took them. some employees were unpleasant and our butler service was nothing special like it was at our Sandals in Barbados trip. Tried very hard not to compare but if you pay just about the same price the properties should be the same quality.

“Sandals Royal Bahamian”
I want to thank everyone at Sandals Royal Bahamian for contributing to make my wife and I wedding dream a reality in paradise!
I apologize if I forgot to mention some names or departments because everyone was so great.
Starting with flying in and being greeted by the friendly staff, to Brandysha our Amazing wedding planner, Granville and Way our wedding coordinator going above and beyond making the legal documents a breeze, last minute changes getting DJ Prodigy booked literally the morning of the wedding because of hearing him at the resort dance party the night before. After having a great conversation with Rev. Rolle and him listening to details of our life stories, he remembered and used those details to tailer our ceremony speech toward us making it that much more intimate and memorable.
It’s the little details like our captian and boat crew Rajeev, Peter and Johnathan just to name a few that escorted us to there private island, joking and playing great music to set the stage for a great wedding.
The Sandals staff including:
Rev. Rolle - pastor
Brandysha -wedding planner
Granville- wedding coordinator
Way- wedding coordinator
Glenroy- waitress
Antony - bartender
Prodigy - DJ
Kayan - pastry chef
Ms. C & Vernon - meal chefs
Ram - butch’s chef
Emmernique - butch’s restaurant
T’shura wilson and Shaquan Bowe - breakfast chefs
Edwin - kimonos restaurant
Johnny, Valentino, Granville - island food staff
Alrio - photographer
Armand - videographer
Monique - photoshop
Rajeev, Peter, Johnathan - captain and boat staff
All did a phenomenal job, making every moment seamless and worry free.
The Red Velvet and coconut wedding cake tasted amazing and by far the best appetizers and main course wedding meal I have ever had.
We ended the night by calling over the island staff, dancing and taking pictures to the last song. We came back to the resort being announced and congratulated by the party director to all the guess around. To our surprise Brandysha our wedding coordinator came to our room to make sure we were happy with everything and if we needed anything else. She absolutely hit it out of the park.
We want to thank everyone at Sandals involved in making our dream day a reality! Our friends and family in attendance were blown away with the hospitality and beauty in there island so much so they extended there stay.
Thank You Sandals Royal Bahamian staff!

We stayed at the Sandals Barbados (Royal side) for 5 nights in May 2025 and had a great time! If I could give 4.5/5 stars I would.
The food highlights of our trip included Bombay and The Merry Monkey. We ate dinner at Bombay 3 nights out of 5. If you like Indian food, it's incredible. The service was wonderful, the atmosphere was great, and the options were plentiful. We also visited The Merry Monkey each evening, whether it was for drinks, dinner, late night snacks, or to play pool. Jack the manager is the best & we loved chatting with him and meeting him. He is what makes the place special! The American Tavern (royal side) has a breakfast buffet, which was fantastic. We also loved the Spices lunch buffet.
The options for sitting by the pool during the day are vast. Being able to go in between both resorts is a huge plus, and you can definitely find a spot to fit the vibe you're looking for. You also have to get up early to reserve your spot or else you will not find one, especially at the more popular pools, during the day. I don't like it, but it is what it is. The rooftop infinity pool is a hidden gem! We never had a problem finding a bar to go to any time of day we desired.
The reason I couldn't give 5 stars: When we arrived after a long day of travel, it did take about 30 minutes before getting to our room, which feels longer than it should have given the room was ready for us upon arrival. The majority of the staff are so kind, friendly, and welcoming. Nearly every person you pass walking the grounds says hello, good morning, good evening, etc. There were only a few interactions that staff were less than friendly (or downright rude) but the positive interactions far outweighed the negative! Also, our room was right along the edge of the property & we could hear dogs barking (not constantly, but quite often) from nearby residences, which was annoying. Also, we wanted to eat at several restaurants that were booked up for our entire stay, so that was disappointing. Lastly, if you are sitting outside (specifically at Spices), there are a LOT of birds. Understand this is somewhat uncontrollable, but to see birds literally eating off of plates or in drinks while people are up at the buffet was slightly disturbing.
Overall, would absolutely return to Sandals Royal Barbados. The only thing I would change is room location, and trying to immediately book reservations for dinner upon arrival.

As with all my reviews, I compare based on expectations set by the price and what’s promised before arrival. Sandals pitches itself as “ultra all-inclusive,” with pricing significantly higher than an average all-inclusive, so I expected just that and that is why it only gets a 3 star average review because I don't think it meets the expectations of Sandals of a Luxury all inclusive.
This review is quite detailed, so here’s a quick summary for those short on time:
If you’ve already booked this resort, you’ll still have a good holiday. While there are a few niggles—and if you’ve visited other Sandals resorts, you may find this one falls slightly short—the staff are friendly, the food is mostly excellent, and overall, we had a good time. Many of the issues I mention may not apply to Butler-level guests.
For those with more time, here’s our experience in more detail:
Arrival
We were Club Level, not Butler, and were welcomed with a group induction in the Club Lounge. It was a warm welcome. As we arrived early, we had to wait for our room, but the concierge kindly took us to our preferred lunch spot—the Jerk Shack.
We were disappointed that there was no recognition of our Sandals Select loyalty. We weren’t invited to the loyalty dinner, nor did we receive a welcome pack. We only found out on the last day that we could have received discounts on photos and gift shop purchases for being members. Be sure to sign up in advance and let them know when you arrive.
Room
Our room in Building 11 was spacious, well-decorated, and had a good-sized bathroom. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and generally maintained well, although our sheets weren’t changed for the first 4–5 days until we asked. Once we did, they were changed promptly.
It seemed we were at the end of the housekeeping run each day, so cleaning was always late, and restocking of towels, tea, and coffee was inconsistent. For example, towel types and quantities varied daily, and sometimes a hand towel replaced the bath mat. These were minor quirks but didn’t reflect the premium feel I expect at this level.
Turndown service was only offered four times in our 12-night stay, which I didn’t really miss. There were a couple of small issues—like our phone being linked to another room, making room service amusing, and the bathroom door not staying shut—but these didn’t bother us much.
A bonus for Building 11 is spotting green monkeys in the grassy area behind the fence during the cooler parts of the day. The downside? Dogs in nearby buildings barked constantly in the mornings and evenings.
Food / Restaurants
Food was generally very good. Butch’s Steak & Seafood and Dino’s Pizza were favourites, with Kimono’s close behind. Be aware that portion sizes have been reduced to cut food waste, but you won’t know this until the meal arrives. Sometimes mains were smaller than starters, but staff were happy to bring more or double up. It’s just harder to judge when you can’t see the portion sizes upfront.
Some restaurants require booking, and I was disappointed that the earliest availability when I arrived was nearly a week in. That would be frustrating for anyone staying just 7 nights.
One night at the British Pub started great thanks to a brilliant British staff member (I didn’t catch his name), who was managing seating, clearing tables quickly, and keeping drinks topped up. Once he left, things went downhill. We waited 30 minutes to order dessert, only to be told at 10:02 PM that the kitchen had closed at 10.
Staff were consistently friendly in all restaurants, although interactions often felt scripted.
A major drawback was the wait times at non-bookable restaurants. We never once got a table without waiting—anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour. Worse still, tables were often available but weren’t cleared quickly enough. This was the first area where I felt the resort had too many guests for the facilities.
On a positive note, the lady at the doughnut/coffee shop (I believe her name was Azisa) was wonderful—always smiling and remembered our regular orders by the end of the trip.
Pools
The pools were mostly clean, with friendly staff and well-stocked bars serving good drinks. Loungers, if you could get one, were comfortable and padded. I saw pool staff meticulously cleaning them each morning.
Towels were sometimes hard to find as they ran out, but you could locate some if you walked around.
We’re not early risers—it's a holiday, after all—but this made finding a shaded pool chair difficult. On three occasions, we couldn’t get one, including one morning when we were out by 8:10 AM. Often, the only option left was the quiet pool or beach. This is disappointing and easily fixed—Sandals, please provide more loungers and umbrellas to match the number of guests.
Similarly, we loved the pool floats in St. Lucia, but this resort had only three in total—two in the main pool and one in the quiet pool—most of which were hoarded by swim-up room guests. Another easy fix.
Poolside drink service wasn’t great compared to other Sandals resorts. We were only asked if we wanted drinks six times in total—five of those in the last two days. However, Shermano (apologies if that’s misspelled) around the quiet pool in the final days was excellent—polite, attentive, and made a great Bob Marley cocktail. Others could learn from him!
Entertainment
The entertainment team was fun, and we had a good laugh at the main pool activities. That said, it’s repetitive—so expect week two to be a repeat of week one.
Beach
The beach has beautiful, soft white sand and always had loungers available.
Unfortunately, the sea was red-flagged most days, with only a small yellow-flag section. The water conditions were poor. The breakers seemed to worsen things—trapping seaweed and creating messy wave patterns. The sea was effectively unusable during our entire stay. You might manage a quick dip, but don’t expect clear, calm Caribbean waters here. For a better beach, visit Carlisle Bay—it was stunning.
Overall
Overall, it felt like the resort lacked sufficient staff and facilities to support the number of guests. I don’t usually compare high-end resorts with budget all-inclusives, but earlier this year we visited a resort for a third of the price with better bar service, consistently cleaned rooms, in-room snacks, a premium minibar, more attentive staff, plenty of loungers, and minimal wait times for meals. That’s also the level of service we experienced at Sandals in St. Lucia.
Most of the issues I’ve mentioned are relatively minor and can be worked around, but for a resort marketed at this level, I expected better. If I were booking again in Barbados, I’m not sure Sandals would be my first choice, as it lacks the “special touches” that justify the premium. That said, it’s not a bad resort—it just doesn’t deliver the luxury standard I’ve come to associate with Sandals. If the price were right, I might return, but with adjusted expectations.

Staff is on "island time" until it's closing time
