I am Jim, a Sandals Chairmanโs Royal Club Diamond Elite member who helps over 1,000 couples a year plan their Sandals getaway. Sandals Grenada is the chainโs strongest dive Sandals plus a destination architecture statement: 257 rooms with infinity-pool penthouse suites, the only Tunnel Loft Suites, and Pink Gin Beach.
This is my full 2026 review of Sandals Grenada: the beach, the rooms, the food, the pools, weddings and honeymoons, how it stacks up against the rest of the chain, and when to go for the best deal. You can check current rates and availability on Sandals.com if you want to compare while you read.
Quick take for 2026
- Where: Pink Gin Beach, on Grenadaโs southwestern tip
- Rooms: 257 rooms across Italian / Caribbean / South Seas villages
- Airport: Maurice Bishop International (GND), 10-minute Sandals transfer
- Best for: couples who want serious diving in the southern Caribbean, architecture-curious honeymooners, repeat Sandals guests adding Grenada to their list, anyone wanting a Tunnel Loft Suite
- Skip if: you want overwater bungalows (book Saint Vincent or Grande St. Lucian), the closest US airport (book Royal Bahamian), or the best beach in the chain (book Negril)
- My rating: 4.8 out of 5 (best diving plus best architectural Sandals)
Where Sandals Grenada is and how to get there
Sandals Grenada sits on Pink Gin Beach on the southwestern tip of Grenada, just 10 minutes from Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND). This is the second-fastest airport transfer in the entire Sandals chain (only Sandals Montego Bay is closer at 10 minutes). Grenada is one of the southern-most Caribbean islands, which gives it a different climate, a different reef geography, and a different vibe than the bigger Jamaica or Bahamas Sandals.
Flights into GND have nonstop options from JFK, Miami, Charlotte, and Toronto. The Sandals airport lounge is included on arrival. Worth knowing: Grenada is below the typical Atlantic hurricane corridor, which means the August-November shoulder window is genuinely usable here (more usable than at the Jamaica Sandals). Full Grenada context lives in my Grenada vacation guide once published.
My take on the vibe at Sandals Grenada
Grenada is the architecture Sandals. The property opened in 2013 with a clear visual identity: three โvillagesโ (Italian, Caribbean, South Seas) each with their own architectural language, plus a marquee penthouse-suite category that includes private rooftop infinity pools. The hillside-meets-beach geography lets you walk from the lobby up to your suite via grand outdoor staircases. The whole resort feels designed rather than developed.
The crowd here skews architecture-curious honeymooners and dive-focused couples. You will see plenty of Tunnel Loft Suite guests posting photos of their private infinity pools at sunset. Energy level is medium-low: more refined than Jamaicaโs bigger Sandals, livelier than the Royal Plantation boutique pace.
The headline architectural feature is the Tunnel Loft Suite category: tunnel-vaulted ceiling, two-story open layout with the bedroom on the upper level, private plunge pool, butler service. Only this resort has this room category in the chain.
The beach
Pink Gin Beach is the resortโs private cove: about 800 feet of frontage, golden sand (Grenadaโs reef-influenced beach color is more golden than the white-white of Antigua), calm-water swimmable. The cove walls protect the swimming area from open-Caribbean swell. The water clarity is excellent (Grenadaโs southern position keeps the water clear year-round) and the offshore reef is genuinely good.
The reef immediately offshore from Pink Gin Beach supports a strong shore-snorkel program. Sandals runs daily free shore-snorkel sessions; the snorkel boat takes guests to the famous Underwater Sculpture Park (a 30-minute boat ride to the worldโs first underwater sculpture park, an art installation visible from the surface or via snorkel/dive). This is the most-requested off-resort excursion at Sandals Grenada.
The pools and swim-up scene
Multiple pools across the three villages plus the marquee infinity pool deck at the upper South Seas village. The main beachfront pool sits between the Italian Village and the cove. Each penthouse Tunnel Loft Suite has its own private rooftop infinity pool, which is the headline pool feature at Grenada (private infinity pool, your own).
Worth knowing: Grenada does NOT have OWBs or Crystal Lagoon mega-pools; the Tunnel Loft Suite private rooftop infinity pools are the room-category headline instead. Detailed comparison of every Sandals swim-up category is in my Sandals swim-up suites guide.
The rooms (and which suite to book)
257 rooms across the three villages and many categories. The marquee category is the Tunnel Loft Suite: tunnel-vaulted ceiling, two-story open layout, bedroom on the upper level, private rooftop infinity pool, butler service. Only this resort has this room category in the chain.
- Best entry pick: Caribbean Honeymoon Beachfront Walkout Club Level. Direct ground-floor patio, club lounge access, premium amenities. Roughly 30% above the basic Caribbean tier.
- Best mid-tier pick: South Seas Honeymoon Walkout Suite Butler. Direct beach patio plus full butler service in the upper-tier village. Mid-$1,400s per night during shoulder season.
- Best splurge pick: Tunnel Loft Two Story Honeymoon Butler Suite with Pool. Tunnel-vaulted ceiling, private rooftop infinity pool, butler service. Mid-$2,200s per night during shoulder season.

Dining at Sandals Grenada
Multiple specialty restaurants across the three villages. Reservations are not required at most venues; butler guests get reservations made for them.
- Spices (modern Caribbean): the dinner reservation everyone tries to get. Plate-style modern Caribbean using local spices.
- Soy Sushi Bar (sushi): the casual sushi option, fresh sashimi.
- Butchโs Chophouse (steakhouse): wood-fired meats, jacket-encouraged for dinner, strong wine list.
- Cucina Romana (northern Italian): wood-fired pizza, plus the pasta course.
- Kimonos (Japanese teppanyaki): chef-at-the-table show, reservations required.
- Plus 2 more on top of that.
Multiple bars including infinity-pool bar at the upper village. Top-shelf liquor (Hendricks, Makerโs Mark, Patron Silver), unlimited Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks wine, premium upgrades for butler-tier guests.
Activities, watersports, and whatโs included
The all-inclusive includes: PADI scuba (two boat dives a day, plus free Open Water certification), Hobie Cats, paddleboards, kayaks, snorkeling, sailing, tennis, and the fitness center. The dive operation accesses the southern Caribbean reef system, which is genuinely the chainโs best.
For divers: this is the headline. Grenada is the strongest dive Sandals in the chain, by a clear margin. Healthy reef, regular ray and turtle sightings, the world-famous Underwater Sculpture Park, multiple wreck dives within 30 minutes by boat (including the Bianca C, the largest accessible Caribbean wreck dive). If diving is the primary trip purpose, this is the right Sandals. Chain-wide ranking in my best Sandals for scuba diving guide.
Off-resort excursions: Underwater Sculpture Park (the must-do, half-day), Belmont Estate chocolate plantation tour (Grenada is the chocolate-and-spice island), Annandale Falls. All bookable through the resort.
Weddings, honeymoons, and proposals at Sandals Grenada
Grenada hosts a strong wedding calendar (the Tunnel Loft architecture is a wedding-photo magnet). Multiple ceremony venues: beachfront on Pink Gin Beach, infinity-pool deck at the upper village (sunset photo), Italian Village garden chapel for indoor backup. The complimentary Sandals wedding package works the standard way: 3+ night stay and the standard ceremony is free for the host couple.
Vow renewals follow the same rule (see my Sandals vow renewal guide); the Tunnel Loft private infinity-pool vow-renewal at sunset is the most-photographed setup. For couples planning to propose first, the Underwater Sculpture Park dive-or-snorkel proposal is uniquely Grenada. See my Sandals proposal packages guide. Pair with the free honeymoon package and the free anniversary night on a return trip.
How Sandals Grenada compares to its sister resorts
Grenada is the only Sandals on Grenada, which simplifies the cross-island comparison. The headline differentiators are diving (the chainโs best) plus architecture (the Tunnel Loft Suites and the three-village layout).
- vs. Sandals Royal Curacao: both are the chainโs strongest dive picks. Royal Curacao is newer (2022) with the included MINI Cooper rental and the Awa Seaside Swim-Up suites. Grenada has the Tunnel Lofts and the world-famous Underwater Sculpture Park.
- vs. Sandals Saint Vincent: Saint Vincent is the newest Sandals overall (March 2024) with the largest OWB inventory. Grenada has the diving and the architecture.
- vs. Sandals Grande St. Lucian: Grande St. Lucian has OWBs and Pitons. Grenada has the diving and the architecture. Different priorities.
- vs. Sandals Grande Antigua: Grande Antigua has a better beach (Dickenson Bay) and the iconic Rondovals. Grenada has the diving and the Tunnel Lofts.

When to go and how to find a deal
The Grenada shoulder season runs late April through mid-June and again mid-August through early December. Grenada sits below the typical Atlantic hurricane corridor (well below, actually) so the August-November shoulder window is more usable here than at any northern-Caribbean Sandals. Peak winter (December through April) is the most expensive window; January through March is the deepest peak.
Grenada participates fully in the Sandals deal calendar. Sandals 7-7-7 sales (January, April, October) typically deliver 35-45% off rack rate. Black Friday usually adds another 5-10%. Stack the free anniversary night, the 10% military and first-responder discount, and the free honeymoon package for combined discounts of 50-55% off rack rate. The Tunnel Loft category discounts less aggressively; book those early during Black Friday. Full deal-timing playbook in my best Sandals deals guide.
My verdict for 2026
Sandals Grenada is the right Sandals for couples who want the chainโs strongest diving plus the most-photographed architectural room category (the Tunnel Loft Suites with private rooftop infinity pools). The 10-minute airport transfer, the southern-Caribbean location below the hurricane corridor, the world-famous Underwater Sculpture Park.
- Book Sandals Grenada if you: want the chainโs strongest diving, want a Tunnel Loft Suite (only available here), want a southern-Caribbean Sandals below the hurricane corridor, are visual-architecture-focused on your trip choice, want the Underwater Sculpture Park
- Skip Sandals Grenada if you: want overwater bungalows (book Sandals Saint Vincent or Sandals Grande St. Lucian), want the closest US airport (book Sandals Royal Bahamian), or want the best beach in the chain (book Sandals Negril)
You can see current Sandals Grenada rates and availability on the Sandals.com booking engine, or work through your Certified Sandals Specialist to layer the deal stacks above. To compare across the rest of the chain first, my complete ranking of all 17 Sandals is the place to start.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Sandals Grenada the best Sandals for diving?
Yes. Sandals Grenada is the chainโs strongest dive Sandals by a clear margin. Healthy southern-Caribbean reef, regular ray and turtle sightings, the world-famous Underwater Sculpture Park (the worldโs first underwater sculpture park), multiple wreck dives within 30 minutes by boat including the Bianca C (the largest accessible Caribbean wreck dive). Chain-wide ranking in my best Sandals for scuba diving guide.
What is a Tunnel Loft Suite at Sandals Grenada?
A two-story open-layout suite with a tunnel-vaulted ceiling, the bedroom on the upper level, a private rooftop infinity pool, and butler service. The most-photographed Sandals Grenada room category and the only place in the chain you can book this specific architectural design. Mid-$2,200s per night during shoulder season.
Does Sandals Grenada have overwater bungalows?
No. The closest equivalent at Sandals Grenada is the Tunnel Loft Suite with its private rooftop infinity pool. If overwater is the priority, see Sandals Saint Vincent (newest and largest OWB inventory in the chain), Sandals Grande St. Lucian (Pitons backdrop), or Sandals Royal Caribbean. Full overwater bungalow comparison in my OWB guide.
How long is the airport transfer to Sandals Grenada?
About 10 minutes by Sandals shuttle from Maurice Bishop International (GND). This is the second-fastest airport transfer in the entire chain (only Sandals Montego Bay is closer at 10 minutes). Nonstop GND flights run from JFK, Miami, Charlotte, and Toronto.
Is Sandals Grenada safe during hurricane season?
Grenada sits below the typical Atlantic hurricane corridor (well below, actually), which makes it one of the most usable Sandals during the August-November shoulder window. Hurricane risk in Grenada is genuinely lower than at the Jamaica or Bahamas Sandals. The shoulder season here delivers strong deal pricing on top of the lower weather risk.
